A while ago i say a leather jacket like this, but the belt was replaced with a studded belt like for your pants... so if you want a studded belt for your jacket you could try it... i dont know just thinking a loud

@NickTheWarior they are pretty much 80s motorcycle jackets man you can still buy them new but they cost like 100 bucks and other than new you can only really find them in thrift stores, i on the other hand had mine handed down to me.

Its tuff, but not impossible, I sewed patches on this one by hand.

its best to use a sewing machine. but you have to get a special type of needle cuz rugular ones cant handle leather usually.

@punkinglad13 you can turn the sleeves inside out. it will be weird but you can fit your arm through and hold on to the stud and use the pliers. Thats what i did anyway. Goodluck!

Would it be alright to stud something that isn't heavy material? I was gonna do a DIY project with a BDU jacket but I don't know if it will hold studs and patches appropriately.

Patches are no problem on BDUs, obviously...studs hold on pretty well, but will loosen up before too long if yer not careful.

Yeh, but it'll probly fall apart...better to use somethin like plastic.

I'm about to stud my first leather jacket, but I've heard if you stud through the lining on the inside the jacket won't hang on me right -- did you have any problems like this?

Nah, I had no problem...but jus make sure you don't bind it up I spose. I sewed a patch like that, looked good on the outside, but the lining was all jacked, so I had to do it over.

When i use my pliers to bend the prongs it breaks the prongs off? Anyhelp of how to prevent that?

No, I never had that happen...but try usin a screwdriver or somethin to jus push the prongs into place.

When you go to put a stud in, do you put two holes in for each prong on the stud? And then bend them the other side?

I jus put one hole per prong, an bend it over onto the leather.

I made a cool hat out of a green quilted hunters cap once I made every other square brown,added a racoon tail to the back and I had found used cement nail strips from a construction site and afixed them running down the center. I added a SUBHUMANS patch and drawn chaos symbol on it. I would ride my bike around wearing it until I took it off one day and never seen it again.I have to make another one and show everyone.

One thing you could do that i did to mine, at least until school started, is sew on some bullet belts. I took the tips out of mine so it would be to heavy.

I put spikes on the shoulder part of mine. You might want to get creative with some paint markers. They're fun to use and it can add some individual touches to it.

I'd use paint markers if it was me...real easy to use.

I used Stencils, just google Stencil Punks, there's a really good site for stencils. you can also make your own if you know. takes practice though. Be careful of over spray. I never actually tried or thought of paint markers though think i will.

Yeh, I think spraypaint is really good for big designs an stuff, but for writing, paint markers might be better.

HEY carefull with the lock on your zipper man, thats exactly how mine got ripped off, i was sitting on one of those benches loaded with holes, and it went in and twisted, i got up in a hurry and it just snapped right off, im still trying to find a way to fix it cause i lost the little plastic part it grips on too

The way everyone studs there jacket is different from mine//I use my fingers to bend the studs but I never curl bend them//They've been staying on pretty good though//My Jacket is saturated in them too//My jacket constantly sheds spikes though//

Constantly sheds them? The studs I use would be real hard to bend the prongs on with my fingers...maybe thas why yers fall off...you could use a key or almost anything to bend them prongs in well.
