  • Question is DANGEROUSLY close to becoming Rorschach in this scene.

  • Kinda reminds of how Rorschach confronted Dr. Manhattan near the end about all his bullshit. Of course it ends MUCH BETTER for Question than it did for Rorschach.

Question: Or what? You'll incinerate me too?

Superman: I'd never do anything like that!

You should count yourself lucky Question

  • The fact Question is voiced by Shran the Andorian from Star Trek Enterprise just fills all my happy spots.

  • Question makes Batman look like a COMMON stalker

  • my fav character in 52......what am i saying? Everyone in 52 is my favorite!!

  • Okay, this is from season one of JLU (or for those of you, like me, who refer to it as JL season 4) which was pretty dark and had some damn good writing that seemed to reach it's peak. The first three seasons of regular Justice League were great, then JLU season 1 did a good job wrapping up a lot of sub-plots.

Then why did season 2 of JLU seemed a little lacking after that?

  • @namikejohnson Well, any plot about a massive group of supervillains (the Legion) probably isn't going to compare to a plot about a government agency, that hires supervillains and good guys alike, manages to tarnish Superman's reputation and makes the League think that they've lost their way.

  • LOL white house weeney roast. That always makes me laught ^_^

  • The Question sounds like an old dude. How old is he suppose to be?

  • I miss Question: Unlimited. BEST SHOW EVAR!!

  • I fucking love how Q just get's in Superman's face., totally disregarding the fact that the man could incinerate him instantly if he wanted to...

Clark may be the man of steel, but The Question has balls of fucking titanium!!!!

  • Can you break me off a piece of that tension?

  • Best episode of season 4...

This part + Question vs Luthor are amazingly done...

  • Quesiton is the worlds best detecktive thats for sure and he is damm smart too. But if Superman says he wont let them, he wont!

  • Most Epic JLA intro

    /watch?v=ggnWB5AbpBo

  • Did you notice how Superman crushed the chair top into a question-mark shape? All the details the creators used to put into JLU were outstanding.

  • Jeffrey Combs has such a great voice.

  • And this kids Is why my good awesome friend Rorschach was based off of the question

Hm and superman or supermanhattan if you ask me. AND I SWEAR If another ginger baddass with no face gets so much FINGER layed on him I will fucking find a way into DC comics and TEAR ASSHOLES APART!

  • i love the justice league. i read my previous comment to myself and it sounded a bit hostile O.o

i meant to say it like the slogan for the watchmen "who watches the watchmen?".

  • who watches the justice league?

  • @TheMexgirl18

    DaMexGuy does

  • Comment removed

  • I like the Question but his extreme paranoia is a bit annoying in my opinion.

  • Jeffrey Combs, one of the most under appreciated actors of our time.

  • Comment removed

  • @johnhwaltz Agreed

  • One thing about the Queston is that he really brings to light the fact that the characters jaws in this style of animation don't move.

  • ok

  • @Windclaw he's referring to the Justice Lords timeline, where Superman goes berserk, kills President Luthor, and leads the League to conquer the world.

  • Is question referring to the events of Flash Point, or a different scenario?

  • This storyline was fucking awesome. giant conflict between the government and the justice league, their own members changing sides and losing faith in the league. One reason why unlimited was better than the original series

  • This is really deep for a kids show.

  • I nearly had a heart failure when I found out that Superman shared a voice actor with Sephiroth!!

  • Superman looking at him intently.......just what is he focusing on???? lol. With his vision i guess the eye sockets on his skull.

  • Who would win in a fight? Rorschach or The Question?

  • @TheSilentOne50

There's a simple answer to this question... and that answer is Chuck Norris

  • "Even if Luthor was the government?"

    Stalemate supes.

  • anyone one else notice the sarcastic inhale the question did at 40-41 lol

  • Why do I get the feeling the Nostalgia Critic would absolutely HATE The Question?

  • @PeinsDisciple GIVE ME A FACE YOU BUNGHOLES

  • @PeinsDisciple That's a good question, why do you get that feeling?

  • @randalthor394 Argh, for some reason I'm reminded of the Critic's review of the Super Mario Bros Super Show, but I don't know why!

  • It is in the Vortas nature to be suspicious XD

  • HOW THE FUCK DOES HE EAT?

  • @BLAZINFLAME360 take off his mask and eat like a normal person Xd

  • I miss the guy Question, hope they bring him back eventually.

  • Is superman really the same guy who voiced Sephiroth in FF VII? I don't believe it

  • does marvel have its own version of question/roscharc?

  • well batman does carry kryptonyte.

  • If Lex Luther is the government?

    Reference to Public Enemies?

Guess Superman (With Batman) kept his word.

  • Shame Batman wasnt there. He wouldve comforted or threatened Q with one sentence.

  • I want a blue trench coat now.

  • I love that facial expression Question gave to Superman in this clip

  • @JesusServant62191 ...I see what you did there

  • @JesusServant62191 what facial expression? lol

  • @purseus exactly, that's his point.

  • @JesusServant62191 What face?

  • @A113Pixar Someone doesnt understand irony.

  • @MrRobertSama That was a joke. I understood the irony perfectly. :)

  • @JesusServant62191 I 'see' what you did there.

  • @JesusServant62191 I see what you did there...

  • I love The Question :3

  • Rorschach>Question

  • you know what would be funny. if the question was moving his jaw while he talks. it would look funny af

  • Fantastic scene, such a shame this show wasn't continued

  • he's a spazz

  • i thought this was season 3??

  • nice poker face

  • My goodness though, superman seems hot headed and just impatient in this one though :(, he wasn't like this in the original version surely and also not in other animated movies of him I saw.

  • @joejar5 It's because he doesn't want to think he could do what his alternate did. He's been troubled by it ever since he learned what he (the alternate) did.

  • @Igarappappa Hmmmm...... I see, that IS true and he was afraid, I was also actually talking about the way he talked to ? in the beginning and the way he said he'll be back in a few minutes to the other two super heroes or heroes, but I guess that was just stress from being so busy, but at least they kept superman NO killing code and desire to himself, it just seems he's more hot headed in unlimited.

  • @joejar5 Things are much more complicated since his original series. He had to deal with being brainwashed by Darkseid and gaining the trust of the of the people back. Now he's got much more responsibilities by being one of the leaders of the League. This can lead to a bit of stress. Also, I'm wagering that his response was he way of saying it's important and don't ask what it's about.

  • The Question probably see's conspiracies in alphabet soup.

  • question is a cool character, he is almost as good a detective as batman

  • @kcazzzzz He is indeed - he sees things others don't. However, as he is infamous for being a conspiracy buff, his word isn't always taken for truth. Even Batman thinks he's obsessive ... and he's Batman!

  • Was that Steel ?

  • Question should have ended the clip with a "That's what I'm afraid of."

  • We wound never fight the government!

Not even if Luthor WAS THE GOVERNMENT!?

    ...yikes

  • The Vic Sage Question really needs more love in comics. He had one short, sweet comic book series in the 80s, where Denny O'Neil rewrote him as a zen buddist. Then he disappeared for like 20 years only to resurface sporadically and nowhere near how Ditko envisaged him. Sure, Ditko's politics were terrible but it doesn't mean that the writers (typically liberal) can't just write around that.

  • ... Okay, Question really creeped me out.

  • "It's the same."

    No. No it is not.

  • Question VS. the riddler who will when

  • @Jecp225 Well actually they did face off in an issue and the Question made Riddler have a mental breakdown because Q kept giving him philosophical riddles that he couldn't solve.

  • Love this clip, Question=very underrated hero, never afraid to push the buttons of those he knew secrets about.

Deep character, thou I love JL, I really feel he should have been explored more. His episodes were some of my favorites.

  • I love this scene so much. So well written and really makes you think. It also shows that superheros and superhero cartoons aren't stupid kids stuff that are meant to pander to the lowest denominator. Even hollywood execs with their millions of dollars tend to forget that

  • @moviegrapevine Not all of them you mean.

  • @Mullahgrrl Yeah, not all of them. Sometimes it seems like the good superhero movies are more "an exception ot the rule" though

  • @moviegrapevine This is one reason why I like Bruce Timm. He treats his audience like adults.

  • Question = Rorscharc

  • @KudokuMaoh Well yeah, Rorscharch was based on The Question. To be accurate he was The Question until DC asked the author of the Watchmen to change him because they owned The Question and they didn't want him to die.

  • @KudokuMaoh Moore wanted to use already existing characters in Watchmen. Question was in Rorschach's role.

  • @KudokuMaoh

    Whom both equal Mr. A

  • @KudokuMaoh

    Yeah, except Rorschach sucks.

  • @KudokuMaoh

Actually Rorschach is based off of the Question. When Watchmen was originally made back in the 80's they asked for permission from the creator of The Question to use a similar character based off of him and the creator agreed.

    The more you know kiddies.

  • @inosaku1984 - ah... but did YOU know that the project that would come to be known as The Watchmen was intended to utilize a DC Comics all-star cast? it's unclear who would have played whom, but the 'Watchmen' pitch came after DC bought out Charlton Comics. Nite Owl, for example; originally based on the Ted Kord incarnation of the Blue Beetle, he stands as a clever amalgam of a middle-aged, sexually incapable Clark Kent with an M.O. similar to the Batman, waering an Owlman cosplay suit.

  • @MarcTaker Yes yes, I was aware of most of that. Hopefully the kids in these comments will learn a thing or two from all of this.

    The more you know. ==*

  • @KudokuMaoh

More like Rorschach = Question. Take a look at the DC Wiki and guess who was based off of who.

  • @bitpeg the question was created first in 1967 and then Rorschach came along but either way it's DC comics.

  • @KudokuMaoh Just double-checking, but you do know that The Question came first right?

  • @Kholdstarezero Yes he did. When DC denied Alan Moore characters like The Question, Blue Beetle and The Atom to use in his Watchman concept, he created expies of those characters for his comic.

  • @KudokuMaoh

Vic Savage is more the inspiration for Rorschac.

The Question was part of a group of heroes Alan Moore wanted to use to write his Graphic Novel "The Watchmen", which had a different name at the beginning.

DC from what i hear was pretty set against it, so he used the originals but with new names and costumes/looks pretty much.

Captain Atom-Dr. Manhattan, The Question-Rorschac, Blue Beetle-Night Owl.

    the others i've forgotten, sorry.

  • @KudokuMaoh It was in fact the other way round when the guy was writing the Watchmen comic he wanted to use his original characters (Question was one of his) and DC said that he wasn't allowed to (They owned the comic he had orignally worked for by the time)

  • @KudokuMaoh Question is the ORIGINAL Rorshach a bad copy

  • @KudokuMaoh The Question should remember what happened to Rorschach when he threatened to blab secrets right in a superbeing's face...

  • @KudokuMaoh Rorschach > Question.

  • @gamefreak1000000 Nope

    Eat a dick fag

  • @Genstrider I'm sure the only one who enjoys dicks around here is you. So who are you calling a fag, fag?

  • @gamefreak1000000 This is coming from the fag who didn't even know that Rorschach was based off the Question in the first place

  • @Genstrider Actually, the question WAS based on Rorschach you dummy.

  • @gamefreak1000000 The Question was created in 1967

    Rorschach was created in 1986

    Get your facts straight faggot

  • @Genstrider I don't care what came first. YOU get your facts straight. Just because it was created earlier and it looks alike, doesn't mean it was ripped off. BTW, don't call other people faggots unless you know they are gay. I am as straight as a pencil. You on the other hand...

  • @gamefreak1000000 You're a stupid faggot and you need to get your facts straight, I never said that Rorschach ripped off The Question you Ignorant Twat.

Suckin' all those dicks must of gotten to your brain

  • @Genstrider Straight people don't suck dicks, genius. You must be talking about yourself. You said that Rorschach was a ripoff of Question. I'm telling you that Question was inspired by Rorschach himself. So don't accuse me of being a fag because as I have said, I am straight as a pencil.

  • @gamefreak1000000 First off stop sucking so many dicks.

Secondly please pull up the statement where I said Rorschach is a ripoff of The Question, please show me where I exactly said "Rorschach is a ripoff of The Question"

Last but not least how can a character that was created in 1967 (The Question) be based/inspired off a character that was created in 1986?

Like I said early only fags pull stupid shit like what you're saying outta their asses without any proof or evidence.

  • @Genstrider How can I suck dicks if I am straight? You make no sense. Now, the question didn't originally look like that until 1989, 3 years after Rorschach existed. That kind of relates to the Catwoman and Black Cat controversy. Catwoman existed before cat, but she was originally a green cat burglar with cheesy cat related puns. Then around 1980, her looks changed in a way to look like cat, who existed in about 1978.

Sorry if I had to specify, but I thought you'd be smart to know that already.

  • @gamefreak1000000 You're an idiot, I bet you haven't even read the original Question comic, the difference between the first question and this one is that he use to be in all brown.

Even Alan Moore asked the original creator of The Question if he could base Rorschach off The Question.

You know absolutely nothing and you need to stop talking.

Sucking dicks all day must suck ass (LOL)

  • @Genstrider Okay, how can I suck dicks if I am straight? You must have some mental illness that prevents your mind from opening. Now, the question does LOOK like Rorschach, but that is after Rorschach went into existence. Question was just some guy with glasses before they gave him that Rorschach look.

  • @gamefreak1000000 It's like saying people who wear bow ties are copying the 11th doctor.

If you opened your mind and read what I wrote Rorschach was based off The Question in the first place, and you still don't realize that the first Question (THE FIRST Question that looks exactly like this Question)

You obviously don't read comics and are just some homosexual who thinks he knows shit cause he watched The Watchmen movie.

Stop being a raging homosexual for Christ sake.

  • @gamefreak1000000 Rorschach is an homage to the Question. Comparing the two to each other is kind of like comparing someone to their mirror image.

  • We would never fight the government! NOT EVEN IF LUTHOR WAS THE GOVERNMENT?!

Question is so... determined! I wonder, whats his story? Why does he want to prevent armaggedon so bad he would sacrifice his life? We know what everyone else fights for/wants to protect, but we never know Question's story :(

  • @LordManda2 Truth and justice like the others... he just really likes the truth part though, :)

  • @LordManda2 Victor Sage is an investigative reporter famous, or infamous, depending on your point of view, for not stopping until he'd uncovered the truth. He was nearly killed investigating a story, during which he saved the life of a famous scientist. The good doctor was so grateful, he gave his latest discovery to Vic, the Pseudoderm compound that makes up his mask, as well as the chemical compound that binds it to his skin and changes the color of his hair and clothing.

  • @LordManda2 Question is also partially based on a philosophy known as Objectivism, elements of that showed up in Unlimited, he even quotes the 'A is A' tenet when challenging Lex Luthor. You see at bit of it here as well, at 1:36 when he points out that Superman's actions are the same even if he had different motives, which is based on the Objectivist notion of objective truth in actions rather then intent.
