  • The sound this makes gives me goosebumps. I LIKE IT.

  • LOOOL you guys know this instrument already exists right? lol

  • That's a neat little thing. Very clean.

  • Wow, that is pretty cool, reminds me of a mouth harp for your hand.

  • LOOL!! Where can I buy one?? Fantastic stuff!!

  • Cool little instrument, keep innovating :) Just out of curiosity what's the name of the song you're playing along ?

  • Sort of a Swanee Wah Wah Guiro perhaps?

  • lol he killed it

  • That's a nice instrument, simple in form, rich in sound!! mad props to ya!!

  • You know, I'd be interested in having one of these. Is there a website or something where I could buy one, perchance?

  • Cool! it's kinda "Jaw Harp meets Guiro" (lol) ... keep inventing ... and keep alert ... the world needs more "lerts" (old "country" joke)

  • "super smooth...bbbeach stone!"

  • Wow, it's like a mix of a guiro and blast block, and oddly reminiscent of a Jaw Harp. This instrument would go so well with the jaw harp; and many other arrangements. Where can I buy one?

  • OMG you got all the town's weed my friend. Love your style!!!!!!!!!

  • nice job brotha.,..

  • You keep you weed in it..........LMFAO!!!

    Good work!

  • I meant *stuff

  • How come really good musicians do syuff with there mouth?

    very cool!

  • This is actually kind of cool. Being able to change tones using the your fingers on the drawer is a nice addition. Good job!

  • cool

  • hes just trying to say that his "stash" box is an instrument. probably got a rock from his yard and just figured what can I do with this??? ohh rub it on my "stash" box hahahah

  • Lol I actually kind of like it! Insanely simple yet it sounds pretty neat.

  • kind of like a guiro that emulates hoofs hitting stone. great World instrument!

  • sounds like brushing your teeth with the wrong end

  • haha well good!!!!

  • It's like a washboard with a wah wah pedal on it...

    Gotta love it!!

  • Why didn't I think of that!? Ingenious.

  • Cost?

  • to be honest i thought this was going to be complete and utter crap but this is actually pretty cool

  • Genius.

    Wow.

    Is it solar powered?

  • Well Well U adn people like u make me feel like I'm in the perfect planet it's a great instrument ill be affortuned if some day i inveted somthing like this harmless, funny, with imagination and such fine creativity (sorry the english is not so good) keep inventing our next generation need U have a great great day :)

  • i invent a drum from a cucanut with bone gurdo..!

ill show you sub me..! ill uplode it soon

  • you MADE you mean

  • At first i was sorta like > lol what is this! But then when you played along, it was actually pretty cool, i wonder how it would sound made from steel or amplified a bit :D nice job :)

  • Thanks. I have a little PIGNOSE amp with a tiny mic and it sounds pretty cool. I've never machined one out of steel but I've carved them out of very hard woods and cast a few out of resin, also sounded great. I've made and sold hundreds of them .

  • Sweet!!! A stash-box you can jam out with! Show us how it sounds when it's packed full of Blueberry!

  • Blueberry ? Now I know I'm getting old, I no understando .

  • Man, you've never smoked any Blueberry?! It's a breed of hydroponic weed that tastes like blueberries when you exhale!

  • Hey mate, I really like what you've done here and it does sound pretty good, looks like good craftsmanship asweill with the whole carving of it looks nice, good invention hope it takes you on the way to richness as you've just given me alot of inspiration, for that i thank you entierly

  • i play a real instrument, not the 'quack quack simulator'

  • Cool, where can I get one of these quack quack simulators ? Fucyouverymch !!!!

  • hahaha...really wtf is this supposed to be?

  • It's just... shit. Sorry but if I bought a CD with that playing in the background I'd get pissed off I just payed £12 for someone to scratch at my head with a beach stone.

  • Good morning OpiousOverkill, I think you're probably "pissed Off" most the time anyway, but thanks for you input, I really appreciate it, on the other hand,GO FUCK YOURSELF (MAYBE WITH A BEACHSTONE) tackless Brit.

  • It's evening over here btw, I don't understand most of the illiterate reply you gave my opinion but I'm trying, I really am. But I suppose you're the one pissed off at the point you replied, seeings as you've found some truth in my comment and resorted to racial "offense".

  • BTW, I don't care if it's the twilight of your miserable life, limey, you tell me my instrument is "shit", and you are entitled to YOUR opinion. And I responded by sharing my opinion with you. There was nothing racial or illiterate about it however. You were simply rude and shared some gibberish about your anger management problem and homosexual fantasies. Some don't care for this music but they are always very civil , you weren't, you were , and probably still are, what we call , a PRICK !

  • Opious, if you want to denigrate bluegrass music, I suppose it's your perogative. After all, it was invented by Scottish and English immigrants, it's the product of British intellect and culture. Notice the similarities between bluegrass and Celtic folk music. Sure, fire away at it! Yeah, Flatt and Scruggs were a couple of talentless hacks. Ricky Skaggs? Hell, he can't play either.

Bluegrass is to country music what speed metal is to rock-n-roll, a haven for the truly proficient.

  • EEKamouse ! Just noticed your subtle comment on my little instrument. Sorry to hear it displeased you so much. As you well know, I'm more of an artist than musician ,but I've had a ton of fun with this thing and 99.9% people seem to enjoy it. Of coarse we're a bunch of talentless, classless, lackeys, what the hell do we know . BTW How's your Ron Paul campaign going ? LOL !

  • Naw, I was talking to the dude above(Opious). Personally, I think bluegrass is killer, I was being sarcastic in my previous comment.

  • Where can I get one?! Greetings from Spain.

  • OK so I'm in the land of real geckos and they shit alot-so keeping one in the drawer would necessitate a bit of upkeep-but I do believe I've played a mean chatterbox once or twice-it does go great with beer. I would highly recommend this instrument-all your friends will want one

  • I always thouht YOU went well with beer ,even better with a taste born of hoary nights , or Yukon Jack to novices. Nice hearing fronm ya .

  • Hey SWEEEEEETY, get of YOU TUBE and email me . .. .NOW !!!

  • neat.

  • what a great idea. where can I get one?

  • Funnily enough, there was a rave tune out at the time with a real country fiddle lick which was almost borne for this method. It was the first song i played in this manner, and seeing your drawer pitching coupled with the music you had seems strangely cosmic to me in this respect...

  • that's pretty sweet steve, i've got something similar with a little gecko, but the drawer makes for a nice pitching system. Also, I should say that when i was bout 14 (in 1994) I discovered that i could make brushing my teeth more interesting by using the brushstrokes as notes of a song, changing the shape of my mouth cavity to pitch and humanise.

  • "with a little gecko, but the drawer makes for a nice pitching system" I'm sorry, what is a "gecko" and a "pitching system " ? I'm no musician , I simply have rhythm and dexterity.

  • Love it - fantastic.

    Craftsmanm, now craftsmank.

  • Thank you very much! I just purchased a new SHOP FOX 14 inch band saw so I'm back in production. I watched your video on your commune ,very very interesting !

  • the gecko i have is a carved gecko, like a lizard with ridges on his back. theres a little stick that you rub over the ridges and it makes a noise like your chatterbox. the pitching system i mean is the drawer that makes the noise higher and lower on your chatterboxby the amount of air in it. finally if you have rhythm and dexterity you are a musician.

  • ill buy one they r awesome

  • oh my god that was amazing. make more and set up a buisness sell them for £5 or 10$ each and ull make millions. ever heard of a show called dragons den well its this program where people go on and get money and buisness deals off these "dragons" or buisness investors. i think theyd accept you. they will give u like 100,000 to get ur buisness started as long as they get like 20% of ur buisness. kindof thing. it would be awsome :D

  • u should make more then for sale ;) they are pretty awesome and handsome :D

  • stoney boloney

  • Dude,

    That's a cool little box.

  • Thanks Heavypiece,I also have one I cast out of resin plastic that sounds pretty good. Maybe I should make another video with that one. Have a great week end.

  • where can i get 1

  • I'd buy one :D

  • Sounds great.

    It's like a modified guero.

  • very nice innovation.

  • Thanks, it's alot of fun.

  • pls join Corrida, an italian Tv program. They pay you

  • Could you tell me more please ?

  • awesome man

  • This is the greatest instrument ever.

  • Oh my god, how much I would give for one of those! Are they for sale, do you sell them from a website? This is incredible, and I, sire, am astounded by your musical genius! Please, if there is any way I could aquire one, please tell me (in a message, if you please) :)) KEEP ROCKING!

  • Email me , there's a email address in the final credits. thanks . Steve.

  • Wicked, how long did it take you to make this, and where'd you get that idea from? I like :)

  • This is only one of hundreds I've made. It started out with me making a bandsaw box years ago , but about the same time I made a washboard instrument ,so I thought "what if I combine the 2 ?" and the original idea was that the drawer would be like a trombone slide, moving in and out, didn't work. But the fingers work even better . Then I changed the shape to fit the hand better , found that stones were good for picking and Bob's your Uncle , a fun instrument : )Thanks.

  • pretty nice :)

  • Denmark ? COOL ! Thanks Oskar. Are you folks following our election ? If so, who's your preference ? Steve.

  • do you meen the SHOW ME YOUR HOMEMADE INSTRUMENTS thing??

  • No, I was talking about our Presidential election .

  • Excuse me YouTube people, I was just informed by a friend that I look too damn serious in this video . Soooo, rather than me re-shooting the whole video could you just imagine that I'm smiling from ear to ear and having a great time (which I actually am , I just don't show it well ) Thank you, resume your viewing . Steve .

  • Thanks , glad ya like it ! I've been making them one at a time in my shop for a few years for fun and a few $ . Any questions my emails in the video credits .

  • Wow! why is nobody commenting this? I am musically challenged but still found great joy and inspiration from your instrument! Get those in stores as quick as you can man! Seriously think of mass production I feel like your on to something.
