  • I enjoy this hymn every time I hear it. Even though I am Catholic I enjoyed watching Davy and Goliath as a child. Even now at age 50 I like to watch the show. It doesn't matter if your Baptist, Catholic, Lutheran etc. All that matters is being on Christ's side.

  • Amen Amen,!!!

  • WOW, what a beautiful song. Just as beautiful as Luther himself!

  • This is my favorite hymn! Thank you Martin Luther for writing it and thank you God for inspiring him!

  • I love this arrangement. I love this song. It kinda gives me a weird feeling when I hear this because this is an old song, and Martin Luther, one of my heroes, was THE first one. If anybody knows what I am talking about I would LOVE some feedback!

  • Amen! Luther indeed was not an extremist, nor an anti-semitic nor a heretic. But we also can look at his rejection by the world as a sign of God's affirmation..."Blessed are you who are reviled and persecuted on my account. Be joyful and glad, for the same happened to the prophets before you". The world is not our fortress, God is.

  • Excellent

  • My favorite hymn, thanks for uploading.

  • My favorite hymn as well. (I wish Il Divo would record it.......ah, how beautiful that would be.)

  • The description that the Catholic Church was a lie from Satan is a little extreme. Luther refuted some of its doctrines for lack of scriptural evidence and basis. It's not important if one is Catholic or Protestant but rather if one knows Christ Himself who was sent from the Almighty God.

  • Extreme? Extreme Is adding and adding Pagan traditions of men unto the Church(Believers)! Catholics like to justify this with "It's our freedom in Christ". Yes, we have freedom, but not to take pagan traditions and say "If you're not keeping them, then you're going to hell", Which is the opposite of What scripture says and what Jesus taught against! Legalism!

  • Good preaching brother, good to see a fellow soldier of Christ fighting the good fight and running the race.

    Keep it up!

  • Mark 7:6He replied, "Isaiah was right when he prophesied about you hypocrites; as it is written: " 'These people honor me with their lips, but their hearts are far from me. 7They worship me in vain; their teachings are but rules taught by men.'8You have let go of the commands of God and are holding on to the traditions of men."

  • Very nice! I like this version more than any others. because is simple and true, without all the untalented stuff added up by the modern muzicians, as if they knew what there were doing.

  • This is actually my favorite song(not version). I believe this is a great song, being the melody and lyrics was written by Martin Luther and that it represents the Protestant Reformation.

  • I love this hymn particularly because it's a rock solid hymn of the Protestant Reformation and it's also fascinating that Luther himself wrote the music AND the words!
