  • right guys .. acording to most lyric websites it says I dont trust you so why should you trust me ... but i will never change my mind that is says I dont judge you , so why do you judge me?

  • @LightsedgeGaming

    yep ur lyrics are right

  • @LightsedgeGaming yea im pretty sure judge is the right word.

  • " you're my guitar hero"....way cool.

  • how could anyone dislike this i have no idea but i do pity those bloody bastards

  • @XXpunkrockwarlordXX great name man :D

  • It's hard to pick a favourite Clash song, but this one is up there.

  • one of the greatest clash songs ever

    RIP Joe

  • Great to hear this tune again, I had to bin my cassette with it on back in the 1980s because every time I played it I had to smash something up. Usually the kitchen. Not good.

  • C O N CONTROL!

  • On vinyl, the greatest record ever made.

  • This is one of the Clash's best songs.

  • One of the greatest songs ever by one of the best bands of all time and also one of the greatest live bands ive ever seen :)

  • this song makes me want to break into the x factor's headquarters and destroy the place with a big atom bomb. and decapitate simon cowell for good measure.

  • @Generation1Terrorist hahahahaha... I agree with you, I'd do the same. greetings from Lima, Perú.

  • fuck wmg

  • I wish I could've seen 'em play.

  • great song, but am i the only one who dosent understand a fucking word hes saying?

  • @elpistol100 I don't think anyone knows what he's saying when they first hear this, but once you look up the lyrics it's easy to get. Actually, once you start listening to the Clash regularly you get a feel for Joe's singing style & you don't have as hard a time understanding him (like when you meet a foreigner with an accent & you don't know what they're saying for like a week, but then you totally get it after that? LOL). Check out the "misheard lyrics" video for this song btw, its hilarious.

  • You say Bruno Mars, I say Guns'n Roses

You say Hannah Montana, I say Aerosmith

You say Owl City, I say Bon Jovi

You say Jonas Brothers, I say Queen

You say Taylor Swift,I say The Clash

You say Justin Bieber, I say Fuck You

95% of teens these days listen to the same formulaic, crappy pop over and over again. If you're one of the 5% who still listens to real music, thumb this up, then copy and paste it to at least five videos. Don't let the spirit of rock and roll die!

  • @jfunchion100 i say shut up and listen to the music

  • @jfunchion100 Guns N Roses? Aerosmith? BON JOVI?? I mean, I get what you're trying to say here, but c'mon... Those bands suck too. "Formulaic, crappy"? They epitomize that, and if you don't think so then you need to listen to EVEN MORE of THE CLASH.

  • @iwantcompletecontrol true dat

  • @iwantcompletecontrol The answer is WRONG (And I freak over The Clash)! But if you people want one that the majority of people agree on in this video, here we go:

You Say Bruno Mars, I Say New York Dolls

You Say "Sexy And I Know It", I Say "No Fun"

You Say Rhianna, I Say Ramones

You Say "Black And Yellow", I Say "London's Burning"

You Say Beiber, I Say Misfits

You Say Lady Gaga, I Say "KICK OUT THE JAMS MUTHERFUCKER"

Please Keep The Music Going. It Musn't Be Forgotten! They won't succeed!

  • @jfunchion100 We don't need this shit on a Clash song. STFU and GTFO. ==>

  • Dear youtube, this video has a dislike button...

    please fix this.

  • So Fucking Cool!

  • This is everything music should be.

  • I KICK IT, I FIGHT IT, I GET UP, AND I LIGHT IT!

  • This song is amazing. You really have to know what he's saying in order to get the full effect of it. Love the part when he says "This is Joe Public speaking! I'm controlled in the body, controlled in the mind!" (and of course, "You're my guitar hero!")

  • The great thing about living in the present is that we have access to ALL of this music.

  • i am sooo pissed right now, fucking wating for an add to play for some shit show i dont give a shit about. I just want to hear some clash for fucks sake.

fuck fuck fuck fuck fuck fuck fuck fuck

OK here we go, thats better.....

But still fuck you youtube you greedy bastards.

  • @louderpowder Well you could, like, buy the song. No more ad.

But still, you won't. Greedy bastard.

  • @louderpowder download the add-blocker for your browser then... :S

  • The first time I heard this single was on the Dave LEE Dickhead show @1976( he was filling in for that other twunt Tony Blackburn)he said i was one of the worst records he had ever heard. Surprisingly he played it the following day saying he had revised his opinion, it was in fact THE worst record he had ever heard, how I laughed.

  • I always loved Mick's solo in this song! He wasn't the greatest technical player but u listen to this and u understand that this guy means it!

  • gives me the creeps!!! tooo good!

  • Live version = win

  • I SHIT on New Deal. ;-D

  • Complete Control, EVEN OVER THIS SONG!!!

  • another great classic...cheers from canada

  • C O N CONTROL!

  • total control!!!!

  • Cut the crap was like my favorite clash album...

    ...

    ...

    Just fucking with you.

  • Timeless, this stroke of brilliances will pump out the nads, for those who have a set, in all generations. I miss you Joe; we still need you.

  • "THIS IS THE PROPHET SPEAKING!" @ 2:05

    /better as a misunderstood lyric

  • @saintalofcincinnati This is Joe Public speaking

  • people were really skinny back in the 70's

  • EVERYONE NEEDS TO LISTIN TO LIVE FROM HERE TO ETERNITY VERSION!!!!!

  • @coolconfuzer That's the best version

  • track produced by lee perry i.e. the greatest

  • I feel like John Constantine while listening to this

  • I can't wait until I'm a teen so I can enjoy this.

  • @WhiteyFisk There's no age for enjoying the Clash, everyone should enjoy them regardless of age

  • @WhiteyFisk That is the most bizarre comment Ive ever heard. Who is stopping you from liking it now? For 12 years and 364 days you dislike the song, and the next day you will enjoy it. Wow. Cigarettes and toads (for those who know)

  • the guitar bit from 1.42 is the dogz bollocks!

  • sorry, i only love everything after "i don't trust you"...even after 20 years of listening to it

  • Imagine this being unleashed on today's Grammys . . . the place would spontaneously combust.

  • @OroborusFMA I got chills from your comment and the thought of it happening.

  • THERE DIRTY THERE FILTHY THEY AINT GUNNNAAA LASSSSST

  • @CLASHofTHElonders

THIS IS YOUR PuBLIC SPEAKING :P

  • @CLASHofTHElonders

    THIS IS YOUR PuBLIC SPEAKING

  • I swear the british are the most talented people on earth. when it comes to music, literature, and film they can do no wrong. the british have made my life worth living.

  • @thefallofoscar LMAO REALLY!

  • three of the most awesome minutes ever commited to vinyl kids

  • the only band that matters.

  • Cleverbot said this is his favourite song.

  • punk is coming back.

rap and all that shite is dying.

    give it time my friends....

    USA...UK..wherever..it's coming.

the only question is....who is going to do it? You? me? them?

  • this is the best track the clash ever did period, loved it then and still think to this day it is my favourite track of all time and i still thrash it out on my guitar to this day

  • @MrHotrodroadster you`re my guitar hero

  • I use to know the proper lyrics to this song, then I watched the misheard lyrics version, and I'm all screwed up now.

  • whats weird about this song is it says your my guitar hero and this song was in guitar hero aerosmith

  • "this is punk rockers, wer'e controlled by the price of the hard drugs we must find !!

freedom is control ! total control

    C-O-N-CONTROL

    that means you !!!"

  • Lemme see your other hand...

  • Ultimate Punk Anthem!

  • i love the clash i dont think there's any song by them i dont like!

  • @GHgirl620 No one will kill you if you say the truth and admit that there is at least 1 song that you dont like. You just cant like ALL of them. Cut the crap was rubbish.

  • @villadavid4ever i guess i didnt word my last comment correctly, i ment "i love the clash i dont think there's any song i HEARD from them that i dont like" There could possibly be some songs i havent heard from them that i may not like but hey everyone has their own opinions and likings dude. So someone could actually like literally ALL their songs. but so far i pretty much dig every song i heard from them. And i'm speaking the truth.

  • Aos brasileiros: Camisa de Vênus tem uma versão dessa música chamada Controle Total, falando da porcaria cultural que é Salvador. Antiga, mas ainda muito atual, infelizmente.

  • Ramones where the best...But the Clash had better songs and could rock out!!!!..both band will live on forever!

  • OOOOOOO YEAH!

  • Google ... "THC Cures Cancer"

  • @EssiacHempLaetrile cures insomnia as well ;)

  • This song absolutely defines punk rock. I'm so glad I was 17 when this came out and I was lucky enough to be into the punk rock and new wave scenes. The Clash changed music forever.

  • this song is good because they were'nt scared to point out record company bs ...listen to the words .....they're first album was they're second record release in USA

I went to their first nyc gig at palladium ......they had to deal with a lot of shit

  • what inspired the clash to write this song is what makes it in my opinion one of the best punk rock songs ever! ...that and its obvious awesomeness

the clash were pissed at their record company, CBS records, that released their song 'remote control' without bothering to ask them.

also includes their run-ins with the cops, cause the clash used to occationally let people into their own gigs for free by letting them in through the back doors and windows haha! :D

its all in the lyrics :)

  • @KingMatthewDaGreat idfk the fucking lyrics

  • the revolution is here grap it now

  • @chefdeals Yes! That's what I keep trying to tell these damn kids these days what with their obsession with X-Box and shitty bands like Dragon Force and Kamelot. Man oh man, what are we gonna do? OTOH, I'm glad they don't get it and want to hear a billion notes and souless fretboard gymnastics that only impress their boyfriends. Great music like the Clash is best kept underground as it keeps it sacred, special for the frew the proud the ones that know what's up. Rebel Truce!!!

  • "I don't judge you..why should you judge me"....huh!!!!

  • @196177 It's I don't trust you, so why trust me, but I like yer comment too! Talking about the record Company suits.

  • @pwyndam I think I knew that..def sounds better..had a girlfriend back in the day who said it was judge...I was brainwashed ...ahhhhhhhhh...any way ..what a band...it's all down hill after them! "A spliff, a pound, half a pint of brown....this is the way we spell Camden town"

  • @196177 Haha! I've had many an ex girlfriend steer me wrong as well mate. All downhill yes! Best band ever. Don't wanna get up to see that dawn like the day before! All the Young Punks is in my top five Clash songs. Epic!

  • @pwyndam the clash told us what the music biz was really like (even though they went through the usual excesses ) before punk as cook and jones (pistols)said `we thought pop stars came from outer space`

  • @unclemort1960 Yes, they certainly did, and turned it on its head in the process. I love the story about Simonon getting all pissed while doing the track for Guns Of Brixton while looking thru the booth glass at the corporate suits who came into the studio to check up on things. They were rebels with clues in heaps and once I found the Clash I knew I was home and not alone in this World. Millions of us like minded folk out there. Nice to meet your acquintance via online penpal. Keep in touch.

  • I kinda wish I was a teen in the 70's rather than 2007...

  • @KENNYIZZY I feel the same dude!! We have to put up with shit music like Justin Bieber... The lifestyle looked so much funner when like my parents were young.

  • @KENNYIZZY Wishin ain't gonna get you anywhere. I'm 22 years old, and you know what? Put this shit (and everything like the clash) on your Ipod, just filled the whole damn thing up with GOOD punk rock, put it on in your car with your friends and party your life away like it was the 1970's.

  • @NomadHipHop right, my entire iPod is classic punk

  • @NomadHipHop what absolutely awesome advice, just turned 22 myself and started listening to REAL punk rock... fake punk rock (in my opinion) being Simple plan etc... =/

Heres to a fast fun life!!

  • @KENNYIZZY 2007? Its almost 2011

  • @Despanzurreitor That wasn't my point, i was still a teen in 07, just turned 18 this year.

  • @KENNYIZZY You really don't. I was 15 when this song came out and I was the only one I knew that listened to this kinda stuff. When you'd tell someone you were into punk, they thought you meant Blondie, Devo or the B-52s, not The Clash, Pistols and Dead Boys. And although I was lucky because there was a great punk scene in NYC, here in the US, you'd be lucky to ever catch a live punk show.

  • @snakex3 US punk was sort of more arty than the UK punk which was really very political. I was 13 when i saw The Clash for the 1st time in 1978....

  • @KENNYIZZY yeah man I know how you feel lol.

  • @KENNYIZZY yea man i know what you mean im the only person who has ever even heard of punk (real punk not emo crap) in my school i just wanna go out and make a band and bring it back.

  • @KENNYIZZY I saw the Clash in the 1980's and my boyfriend at the time got dragged out by his hair for calling the bouncer a fascist pig!

  • @KENNYIZZY Well you are closer than me. I became a teen in 2009.

  • I wish I was a teen now

  • @KENNYIZZY dont we all mate :/

  • @KENNYIZZY me too 4 the music... but today's girls are prettier!!!

  • @KENNYIZZY Here in Serbia punks are everywhere, but very few of them listen punk music.

  • This is my favourite Clash song. Knew it way before Guitar Hero used it.

  • Come on guitar hero!

  • Their best song!!

  • i went to see them at THE APOLLO in Glasgow in 1978.Ive never grown out of their music-NEVER WILL

  • Yeah the Clash!!

  • /watch?v=OT6MPx_dvsY&feature=related

the version on from here to eternity

everyone who loves this song should check it out.

  • The best ever review for a song.

cant remember if it was Sounds or NME

PLUG THIS INTO THE MAINS AND WATCH YOUR STREET LIGHT UP !

Where are the new bands who can put in a 10th of the pure energy that these guys did?

  • joe strummer is a fucking legend R.I.P STRUMMER!

  • Micks solo from 0:58-1:19 sends shivers down my spine and brings tears to my eyes

  • All u morons...This is the greatest rock song of all-time....THE CLash......if u have no idea..about rock...it was elvis...beatles....and a long long long time until The Clash, who are one of the top 3 rock bands of all time...and they had many great songs, but COMPLETE CONTROL...is by far....the best

  • @seymour333 Elvis -> Beatles -> The Clash? It started with Chuck Berry and real rock was continued by the Stones more than the Beatles. You missed a few essential bands but hey those are probably hidden between the dots xD

  • All over the news spreads, they're filthy, they're dirty, they aint never gonna last!

  • why is this song so good?

  • @dawson668 Don't question, just go with it. Clash = best band ever

  • @dawson668 lee perry

  • @dawson668 It's not, it's awful. Go back to listening to Oasis and enjoy your tiny, unimportant life. Really.

  • @dawson668 cos it was done by the best band ever

  • @dawson668 .......because its true!..thats why this song is so good!

  • @dawson668 Because it's The Goddamned Clash, thats why!

  • Comment removed

  • Comment removed

  • @dawson668 cause its the clash

  • I play this on the piano in the pub, it goes down very well.

  • One of the coolest songs ever...

  • COMPLETE CONTROL!! EVEN OVER THIS SONG!!!!

  • Your my guitar hero! --- Strummerisms at their best.

  • I think it's great that The Clash are still getting people jumping, im 17 and have been listening to The Clash since i was 13, best 4 years of my life so far!

    RIP JOE

  • greatest band in musical history..........FACT

  • man punk is long over due for a come back. and i mean REAL PUNK, not those 5 year old's green day shit.

  • @ronnyim12345 never went away boss, stop watching MTV and go to a gig that ISNT on TICKETMASTER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • @tomvear Can I still order game tickets on Ticketmaster?

    :3

  • @ronnyim12345

There's worse things around than Green Day. At least they actually recaptured somekind of attitude with American Idiot. Even if it is shot through with pop balladry, and just stating common thought. It's funny that there's a lot of what I'd call "real punk" that have broader sensibilities much like The Clash did. Whereas the shitty punk just sounds like punk. But shit. These punk bands with no balls or conviction I have another name for.

  • Wow, what an really awesome song (Y)

  • This was a watershed in punk history, when this came out you knew punk had come of age. Still one of the best punk songs ever if not the best. (there are several contenders for the title though)

  • The Clash - best punk

  • you suck so loud, this is bs, complete control of youtube

  • @groundswellgreg What do you mean?

  • Complete Control is Complete Awesome, along with the Clash.

  • have too listen tt a cjash song every day

  • RIP Joe Strummer, your legacy lives on for decades to come!

  • For those who reckon The Pistols spawned The Clash, listen to the 101'ers- Joe's band before the Pistols were "created" by big Malc. The signs were all there, add Mick jones, cool Paul & mad Topper & history is written!

  • @civilians I don't reckon The Pistols spawned the Clash I know. The Pistols supported The 101'ers in 76. As soon as Joe heard them he knew it was his last gig with the 101'ers as he thought the Pistols style was the way forward. He later met Mick and Paul at a Pistols gig and they decided to start a band and hence, the rest is history. Do you know The Pistols played 2 benefit gigs, one of them, a kids party, in Huddersfield on xmas day 77. I believe it was for striking firemen and single parents

  • People keep asking when the "next Beatles" will come along. They've the missed the boat because it was the Clash. Pair this with the Pistol's "Holidays in the Sun" and you've got the best single of the Punk era - maybe any era.

  • He done ads for Country Life just google John Lydon + Butter Commercial.

  • Sighs , WHY on earth dont we get fuckin bands like this anymore ? I personally blame the likes of simon cowell et all , they should all be shot in the face for the assault on the nations eardrums :)

  • Hey don't mess around pal they were both great, the clash and the sex pistols, but the main reason i write is because i love punk and i love this band and i love this song

  • To the person who thinks there would have been no Clash without Sex Pistols. You do not see any members of the Clash doing butter commercials. The Sex Pistols were and still are a bunch of wankers. The Clash were far more in touch with popular feelings among youth and had better music.

  • @sinwow33 what butter commercial would this be?

  • THIS is punk

  • First saw them in 1978. Changed my life forever...

    This is Joe Public speaking...

    Im controlled in the body

    Im controlled in the mind...

    ....

Fuck me, the hair still stands up on the back of my neck.

  • Greatest Punk song of all time.

In your face, aggressive, the energy of a live version. What more do you need?

Johnny "Rotten" and the gang could've only dreamed of writing a masterpiece like this.

  • @HearTheStaticNoise Agreed its the best ever Clash song, but without The Pistols there would be no Clash. And as far as songs against your record cmpany is concerned, EMI came before this.
