  • Simply one of the greatest R&R songs ever recorded.I watched American Grafitti yesterday;the Wolfman played this song.

  • This has to be one of the top do wop songs of all times. I can't believe how many groups were from the Pittsburgh area. I grew up about forty miles north of Pittsburgh and graduated in 1957 so you know we all loved this kind of music. I have fond memories of harmonizing as a tenor in our group called The Five Seniors in high school. Bring back the Happy Days. The Centurion

  • Gotta thank those oldies infomercials on TV that come up every Saturday evening... there's no simply no way I would have stumbled onto this song otherwise.

  • One of my all-time favorites.I probably said it before but thank you once more.

  • AWESOME SONG :)

  • i had this play on my wedding day in 1964 my wife love this song so much......1956-1962 was the best years of my life

  • OH YES!

THIS WAS WHAT I GREW UP DANCING TO!

    CAN YOU BELIEVE IT??

    JR HIGH-1960-1963' HIGH SCHOOL 63' -66'

    LUCKY ME!!

  • OMG..Great song! TY

  • Another Great Belly Rubber Love It

  • Actually......in 1957 Ford came out with a retractable hardtop car. A hardtop that turned into a convertible if you get the drift. The name: Ford Skyliner! So, who is to know....urban legend or not which reason for the name of the group? One thing is for sure....they were a fabulous group....that made the cut for American Graffitti....as well as lots of air time at my highschool where I was the Campus DJ.

  • This is the good stuff.

  • someone accidently clicked the dislike button... it happpens

  • a classic. 5 stars.

  • To those of us who lived the Doo Wop era, these songs have a very special place in our souls. It's sad that the music is gone from the airwaves except for a few stations.

  • I want a red caddy

  • I like listening to older music because it makes me think of what teenagers would have thought of their generations music. I love music in general and also appreciate the music we have today. I love to listen to peoples sorties of when they were young. Anyone want to share? Lol

  • Ahhhh.....the great sounds of the 'doo-wop' fantastic '50's and my 'teen-age' years - I'm now approaching my late 60's, but tunes like this always revive so many wonderful memories of a different time long ago, but just 'yesterday' - when music was meant to be danced to and held in the arms of your love - now, if I could ONLY remember who that was - LOL!

  • One of the best vocals! I love their songs! Including Pennies from Heaven!

  • One of the best groups of the "Oldies but Goodies" era. They had great voices and the two main songs, Since I Dont Have You and This I Swear are classics. We couldn't wait for one of these songs to play at a Dance or at a Party and go grab you a Girl and do your best to talk that talk! If you were lucky you; well you know!! You don't hear anything close to this kind of music these days. It's a shame we have to grow old!

  • I really enjoy listening to this since it brings back so many memories. I thank you for uploading this song for me.

  • We are so lucky to still be able to listen to music like this.

  • I love the sweet, wonderful memories these songs bring from way back then. And there are many. It makes me almost hate to come back to the here and now.

  • I do love the places youtube brings me to!!

  • this song was nearly seven years old by the time i was born but i have such a love for it; it's timeless, ageless and eternal; 53 years later and this song moves me so. thank you skyliners for the many memories you have provided me with this beautiful song.....jimmy beaumont, you and your group make me feel like i'm 16 again whenever i hear this song. i cherish those memories. again thank you!

  • LOVE THIS FANTASTIC SONG TO SLOW DANCE TOO

    01-28-12

  • i made love to my ex-wife too this song back in 1977 that was a great time no worries all i had was after school job at a hamburger joint life was fun!

  • Unbelievable! Love this Music, Song, and Era!

  • Was Janet related to Danny Rapp?

  • @fiddlerpin No. BTW, that was her married name.

  • This song is timeless!

  • For the longest time, I thought this song was by the Smokey Robinson and the Miracles...aren't their similarities in the sound?? One of my favorite songs of all time. I can't only listen to it once.

  • The Skyliners were the best!

  • Real '50's. That guy had some voice.I like that steady piano beat.

  • This song still gives me chills!!! Thanks for the memories!!

  • Absolutely brilliant song.

  • I'm so proud 2 b from Pgh, PA...the Oldies Capital of the World.

  • Memories like this put tears in my eyes just a beautiful song.

  • I wish I could have played this one for us (and slow-danced to it) before you left this world, My Eternally-Precious Barbra Rose. The two years we spent together went by all too quickly. In my mind, I can envision myself walking through the billowy white clouds to meet you with this song playing all around us. Barbra Jean "Rose" Ragan (June 23, 1967-November 22, 2010) -- Rest in the Loving and Comforting Arms of The Christ -- Forever! Barb - I miss you beyond words, I love you beyond Space/Time!

  • You can't compare GunsNRoses to Jimmy Beaumont and the Skyliners. Just saw Jimmy at the Westbury music fair, he still sounds wonderful!

  • suck it Axl and Slash

  • We used to call this "double clutching" music, referring to the slow dance style - not the manual transmissions in our cars back then.

    ;-)

  • I was 13 when this song came out. I get a little misty eyed whenever i hear it. Music just doesn't get any better. Thanks for posting!

  • I was just a young teen,13, but I made this Senior in High School, sell me this record for $5, at the end he gave it to me! Lucky Me! I Loved It! Awesome Group! Fab, Song! GIGI

  • It's weird that most of the songs I listen to on youtube are oldies songs...and Im only 19...that says something about todays music >_<

  • The originals will always be golden...Timeless.

  • 1959 was around the time I purchased my first 45's and this is one! Still like the 50-60's sound!

  • This is one of the greatest doo wop songs ever! Thank you so much for posting.

  • Guns N' Roses version is obviously better.

  • @GnFnRs86 clearly you haven't heard of real music

  • @VigVix HAHAHAHA don't make me laguh!! I'm a music student and I perfectly know what real music is and I've heard it. When i heard GN'R version I thought this one is shit. HAHA!!!

  • @GnFnRs86 you keep tellin yourself that kid. And for the record, I believe it's spelled "laugh". Might want to brush up on your grammar and spelling as well ;)

  • @GnFnRs86 Wouldn't be a GnR version had they not heard this. I like their version too but this was great in it's day and has held up.

  • @VigVix it's a generational thing. I grew up with this music this was the beginning everything else came after ie "Gun N Roses" ;)

  • @jask9143 Both versions are nice. I prefer GN'R's. Sorry for my english, I'm from Argentina.

  • Also Art Garfunkel sang this nice!

  • 13 yous that has always got me I keep thinking there will be more or less every time I hear it

  • This song has been a sad "anthem" of mine since I lost the love of my life -- My Darling and Resplendent Wife, Barbra. However, Barbra lives on within the music and lyrics of this great song (and, True Love Ways by Buddy Holly).

  • I love Pittsburgh. I have loved this song forever.

  • GREAT, GREAT, GREAT American music from the 'Burg'! We were sooooo fortunately to live in, and thru that great era! Get VERY emotional when listening to the PS, as brings back Wilkinsburgh Jr High, Pgh, . . .girls, ya know, and all the emotional 'rollercoaster' teens get into. Shame about Janet, watta sad story. And with Jimmy gone, damn-it, my heros are going!. Thanks for taking time uploading. CFN

  • mi piace alla grandissima.

  • great love song to dance ceek to cheek

  • No doubt such a negative song, with strings!!! and 13 YOU'S at the end of it will NEVER sell! Dennis - ultimatevocalgroup

  • I'm English but must have been a magical time in the States when these classics were being released.

  • @stans945 While that is true, English bands, at that same time, were creating an interesting amalgam of American and British sound, and they were getting ready to take the world by storm. The Ventures, The Shadows, The early Beatles, Chad and Jeremy, Peter and Gordon, Herman's Hermits --- all were carry-overs from American music from the late 1950s. Those folks helped to keep the flame burning. Many thanks, and God bless, to you all in the U.K.!

  • I dedicate this song to my wonderful friend Tony B. I cant wait to see you again. From D.S.

  • Love This Beautifull Sad Song.....

    rip Janet

  • this song and( this I swear) are my favorite all time oldies.....god bless you for posting....tear jerker song......koma...

  • I believe this song was recorded on Dec. 3rd, 1958. My birthday. This song has always been special for me. Never get tired of listening to it.

  • Sweet! Thanks for posting.

Janet Vogel Rapp's son Gavin is presently shooting an indie film of the story of her life, called "Since I Don't Have You." Find our fan page on Facebook. Thanks for your love and support, Skyliners fans!

    Best,
