Rap artists have nothing on this poetry. Simply amazing. Intense. Just when you think they threw all their punches with this one they toss Slainte Mhath at you and you go down for the count. Fish and this inception of Marillion were at that time -- unbeatable.
when fish left marillion i was gutted / i was into em bigtime .they stuff they brought out afta he went was nothin like this, its nice to hear this again still sets my pulse racin today.... fuckin ace
When I was a kid I heard music similar to this that just jammed like nothing else could -- everything about this particular song brings back good memories and that 'happy place' sort of energy.
@MarxNutz -- I fully agree -- I need to rig my Jeep with serious audio and have this track at the ready, in case of hip hop, phone, or just attitudes coming off around my space.
Just drove home listening to this and it was like i was 17 again,(i'm 33 now)! What an epic song,love it.It should come with a public warning - DO NOT DRIVE A MOTOR VEHICLE WHILE LISTENING TO THIS SONG! Cos you wanna drive FAST!! hehe
One of my favorite songs by Marillion! I crank it up in my truck to fight the hip hop music coming from other cars... Seems it makes them turn it down, dunno why but it works!
from 0:48 on, it really feels and sounds like a mega-hit, pity it topped only 6th

I'm a bit surprised that this one didn't sell better in the States. Not a Billboard #1 or anything, but a solid top 40 perhaps.

the outro (last 70 seconds or so) should have continued for another 4 or 5 minutes in my opinion!

I don't drive trucks (HGV's) anymore, but its a strange feeling being in a large vehicle with the music blasting away. Get a big adrenaline rush.

@MarxNutz probably because it makes them think whats this cool sound blaring over our hip hop crap, lol.

@Glorious80s
Probably the first time in their useless little lives that they come to hear "real" music.
So they stop to listen in awe and wonderment.
