  • Bell-forward Eb alto horns were called "solo altos". The Eb or F trumpet in this range is called a contralto trumpet, not to be confused with the contra alto used in classical music.

  • Very nice playing! It sounds like the instrument is pitched in the modern key of E. Were the horns higher pitched back then, or is it just this particular instrument?
