  • Seriously? It would probably help if your guitar was in tune. Isn't that like the most important part of guitar playing?

  • @BlanketsWereStairs yeah its out of tune and this video is over 3 years old....I need to redo it since my playing has gotten much better...but at this time I had only played for about a year and a half.....

  • yer out of friggin' tune, ouch!

  • I think ya did a great job!!!

  • dont know why all the negative waste.I enjoyed I like the way you have control of your instrument and the chord changes. REMEMBER THIS .."OPINIONS ARE LIKE ASSHOLES everyone has one. Keep rockin Peace bro.

  • sounds tinny but you got the notes right--way too dirty sounding

  • I think you did an excellent job with the guitar on this beautiful song. Kudos.

  • I may offer a suggestion that you find a "generic" backing track for this song to play over, that does not have the guitar parts in it. Often, if you play over a song, you get a false sense that all is well, when actually the recorded guitar is covering for you in a way. This is like when people sing along to a song and think they sound better than they do. I think if you had only your guitar sounding that you would make any adjustments you need. I'm not slamming you at all either, I like it

  • I just heard your vid again. Ok I knew something was not quite right-----you are so out of tune----thats it. Tune that puppy up.

  • hmmm horrible sound and very robotic with no feeling. I have a 1968 sg standard that I bought new and I get the exact sound with just overdrive like the record but you can def make that sound better. Roll off your tone knob to get that horn sound and not so tinny.

  • Great job brother!!! I like your cover alot. Thanks for posting!! Truly a great guitar song!!! (very sad documentary about Badfinger, wishing Sir Paul, George Martin, and the boys would have looked after them a bit closer).

  • That was just plain awesome! I am probably one of Badfinger's biggest fans - seriously, you got every note down - you rock! I would love to see more of your guitar playing. Rock on - fellow Badfiner fan! That song is my all time fav ... !!! My Dixie Dear!

  • Forget the knuckle head comments! I love Bad Finger and this is my favorite song of theirs! You rocked it! Bad Fingers story as a band is truly tragic!

  • Good job jam! Tough to play both parts.

  • I watch the old footage of Badfinger and they do not use a capo. It is two people playing guitars, so when one person does it and does this well, I say good job. Show us the better version you can play fireglo360, no kidding, i want to learn this in the way you speak of.

  • nice job!

  • Capo 5th fret. Play it like its in the key of G... No shit.

  • You don't have the descending riff quite right. Close, but a note or two off. Doing that riff properly in the key of B is a bitch. If you don't mind singing a half step up, by far the easiest way to play "Baby Blue" is in the key of C. That way, you can play the descending riff on the middle three strings: F-A-C-F/E-G-C-E, using the open G. Way easier. Till I saw video, I always though Badfinger recorded it this way, tuning down a half a step. But apparently they actually did play it in B.

  • You have great skill, and talent!!! Forget what these other idots are saying. You have the song down! I'd love to work with you and I would pay for the studio time!!!! You are that great! Bobby

  • And all of this i'm saying is for you to get a better sound dude!!!

And about my version, i know it sucks, but i will buy in a couple of months a mxier, microphones, and i'll do a version were i will record vocals, guitar, bass, drums and acoustic guitars...

  • This is str8 pedal to a pod xt no mixers or other gear...I couldnt emulate the sound exactly and I did my rendition with my sound. This is a live sound that I may use with a band. It's all good, no hard feelings. Remeber this is me practicing not live on stage...thats a whole other world and yes that is when the emotion shows!

  • I think that you did a good job but it is much easier to use a capo at the 4th fret it has a full clean open chord sound although you can do it that way but there is so much going on that it is taking away from the emotion that way is very technical and consuming with a capo it give the chord much more power less work more like a cake walk try it that way Good Luck!!!

  • yeah one less chord fret...but capos and rock? Its unmanly! :)

  • Where is the feeling and the emotion???

Very "cold" and technical version, but without feeling....But keep trying and getting better!!!

  • :) I've only been playin for 3yrs!! I'll keep that in mind!! Thanks 4 posting

  • do you see joey mollard jumping around when badfinger did this live on the kenny roggers show? no atleast give this guy a chance. He was good this is the first good cover i'v seen on youtube

  • joey was playin air guitar on that show...I was testing my POD XT to see what amp effect works best...i think its ok...volume settings have to be better no doubt but playing wise...not to be arrogant...is alright I think...thanks for your support!

  • Check out my newer version as this was my 1st attempt

  • Are u serious guireisoffspring? Really? No feeling? Wow that is a first, especially since I play the lead in my video, switch effects and not monotone (unlike many others out there.) Better to be technical and correct than emotional and off key winging it....So I ask again, are u serious? Get Better? Maybe the OD sound needed tweakin, not the playing. My vid is pretty tight, better than yours 4 Sho!

  • tuning is always good... even more if you plan on posting on youtube

  • are you sayin my tuning is off? hmmm maybe it was the effect I was using on the song.....I'll keep it in mind...thanks!

  • Try stumming a little softer on this tune, Also try to tune up your guitar. Not bad though.

  • Thanks for the advice...working out the settings on the pod xt

  • it's kinda fun jammin' to an album...heh

  • BTW the G you play in the chorus is wrong...keep looking for the lost chord

  • noo its is a G...just sounds awkward because the song is in B? Maybe it is an Ebsus?

FYI...lost chord :) not anymore! Lol used to say that alot when I first started...check out the other version I did of this with day after day as well...

  • Go ahead Amigo ! Very good sound of distortion ! Heavy with a good definition ! Great Job !
