Wow! I lived down the street from the big Scientology church (dorm) in Hollywood for years and thought that the young men and women dressed like capn' crunch were a bunch of benign zealots.

The other day I went back to the Church and the hiring director dan told me they had about 46 people on staff. He was being vague about hours and job duties so I told him I'd just call tomorrow. So I did but he wasn't there, but the woman I talked to told me they had staff numbers "in the high 90's". They appear to live in the building next door and make about 40 a week.

i confronted a scientologist who comes here to do phony auditing on my neighbor who is 83, just to make money off her, she never gets better. twice a week sometimes this phoney lady gets $60 a pop. next time she came, i saw her and she flipped me off and shouted fuck off. i told her that i thought scientologists didn't act and talk like that. that is the 2nd time she told me to fuck off. great representation of scientologist.

Yeah..........I didn't even know that happened until I returned to the USA, onto ARS (Newsgroup) and people were asking the same question. I listened to it and was *so* embarrassed. Then others told me ~some~ people when they travel (some of them admitted to the same thing), you pick up accents like a commelian. (sp?) Anyways, I didn't know it until I returned home, and it was very embarrassing to me, still is today. DOH!!
