Of course his Farfisa is perfect looking. Wonder how much he had to pay for it.
I paid $120 for mine from Music Go Round. All of these old organs clean up great if you use the Shout brand 'Makes 32 gallons' carpet cleaning solution that comes in a clear plastic square box w/ a little reservoir at the top- squeeze the container and a pre-portioned amount goes up into the little reservoir. That pre-portioned amount is tiny compared to the whole gallon of water it goes into. Use it straight. More?
Hint for getting the keys that shiny and new is to remove them, replace felt by using two pieces of 'Felt Protectors' from Lowes they are sticky on one side- peel and stick both faced together. You can then us a piece of hollow thin walled tubing sharpened on the end to resemble a die cutter. Put a 'T' handle on it and make indentations on felt and drill holes in center approx. 1/8 inch. Now cut 61 felts with die cutter.
Polish keys using a buffing wheel on drill press & use a hard>soft compnd.
You could tell he hated playing it over some other 'nicer' instrument, but there is no nicer instrument! Except maybe a Thomas Californian spinet. Harry Wach rules!
Anyone know which model of Wurlitzer organ ( it's NOT the one on the cover) John Winters is playing on 'Organ Moods, John Winters at the Mighty Wurlitzer Organ' Mount Vernon Records MVM161 ?
