  • Somebody Songify this!

  • @WetPooooopie Yeah lol!!

  • And he seems intrigued

  • That Chris guy seems shocked

  • i live in long island and i didnt her bout no fucking tornado and it was a thunderstorm

  • @brandonisawesome11 true a severe odfd supercell that hit everywhere exept statenisland, but they even had a lightning and distant thundeershow

  • I remember this. I was on a plane at LaGuardia ready to head back to Ohio.

  • @ShowThemOHIOsHere I wonder how that looed from the sky, planes shouldn't be taking off in the vortex and up and downdrafts in supercells super-fandergous and it could of been a tornado if any more severer

  • mmm my fave, a full red screen. wish this happened more often.

  • I remember this! And I live like 5 hours away from NY in WV

  • i live on longisland new yorkk, i remember thiss epicc shitttt

  • @MakeupTeen94 I'm from brooklyn i ws high watching thi stsorm, and yes chris does sound childish and repetitive

  • @WetPooooopie lmaooo congratssss

  • man this guy is repetitive!! lol

  • @SPCcranford1056 so damn true gosh can't he exandhis english vocabulary or h's so shocked of a tornado warning in nyc which is rare tghat he nervously was repeating look at those flashes going off and he keeps saying right now

  • tornado hasn't touched down east of the hudson in many decades. What those big winds are called are microbursts. The ocean dissapates any circular motion in a storm as it approaches the hudson river to the sound and ocean.Thats why everything east of the hudson rarely get any catastraphic weather patterns.Thank the ocean and sound for that.

  • @fadethetrade Here in northern IL, we call those microbursts slight gusts because they happen ALL THE TIME.

  • What is the radar in the beginning of the video?

  • @know1tv - GRLevel 2

  • @know1tv where the storm is headed

  • hey im from central nj (edison, nj) and i know alot of meteorologists on twc barely (and some never do) mention new jersey. He only mentioned the state ONCE

  • Wtf is this guy talking about a tornado ddid touch down in brooklyn dude, cause idk I WAS THERE, you people need to get your facts straight as they're called invisible tornadoes cause there is no dirt fields where the tornado can npick up the dirt and make it visible

  • @The2Coolest2- I did check my facts.. A tornado did "not" touch down from this event-- SOURCE: THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE.. There was 2 reports of a funnel. No tornado.. Yes, a tornado DID touch down in the Bronx July 25th! -- This is from July 23rd! Go to the NWS website and click on the New York City NWS site.. Then check the "Storm Archive" page on the far left.. There, you will see the FACTS... Also, tornadoes can be invisible... but being in a city, debris would have been noticeable.

  • @ExtremeWeatherman yea it did

  • well obviously you didn't contact the NWS to tell them because they posted no survey stating a tornado touched down.. I put the link above in the detail section under the video.. That's all the NWS put..

  • @suffern2 no it didn't only in the bx (bronx july 25, 2010

  • @The2Coolest2 A big supercell, rain didn't hit brooklyn only williambsurg ands cornw heights, no tornado tuopuched down, only a warning, a tornado was in ridgefeild NJ

  • @WetPooooopie Not to be rude, but perhaps you didn't read what I wrote, I live in Brooklyn and I was outside when it happened.

  • From 3:57 to 4:02 you can hear the panic in this guy's voice. For those people who think that tornados are rare in NY. Not really. We do get them from time to time and NYC does get its fair share of severe weather. Mayb not as often as in the south or tornado alley, but we get plenty here too.

  • @noreaga12326 defnatly a panic he was concerned for himself and our city ad area like boroughs

  • Everyone in NY should feel good. Historically, young black men have come to help everyone during times of disaster. And NY has plenty of black men. So if there's a disaster, I'll enjoy watching all of the young black men helping everyone on TV while I eat popcorn.

  • like i live in new york in my whole life i don't remember this

  • i don't remember this

  • @raichu367 you don't remember this

  • I WAS WATCHING THIS!

  • ROFL! "This is a huge mother of a storm!"

  • i remember that storm the tornado never hit so i dont kno i was crying so much and warned all my friends i have made a dramic secne that day

  • OMG....I was THERE during that date and time! I was on the Cross Bronx Expressway and a extremely dark cloud came overhead extremely fast. It looked like it was the end of the world... It was extremely windy and very heavy rain! VERY SCARY experience!

  • Theres flashes going off, look at those flashes going off, those flashes are live flashes going off that are flashing on the camera live flashes going off!

  • @spongersurfer: this guy acts like he's never seen lightning before....i could see him reacting like that if the flashes were transformers exploding from a tornado destroying electrical lines....

  • @domirules28 in his mid he's like shoicking saying in his own words "were fuckkkked" he does keep repeated like a child no offenses

  • @spongersurfer is he echolholic he keeps repeating no offense

  • I'm already placing my bets on how many TORNADO warnings the tri-state area gets this year increasing over last year - the number of warnings seem to only increase as the years go by... ~_~

  • @travelsonic lets bet XD LOL

  • @travelsonic true fro 2007 - on they have been

  • lol i remember that it was my first time that happend first i was playiing with my frienda and all of a sudden the sky got dark in less then 8 minutes and then it got rainy then got soooo windy and we headed to the basement and my friend and i got scared and i saw my garbage can go flying lol for 3 seconds and my friends neighbor tree fell and landed on my friend neighbor roof

  • We have a tornado that has tuoched down one half mile outside the city,,,,bring in the pets,,find the lowest level of the house and get under a sturdy table..cover your body and head with a matress......we'll be right back after this commercial,,,,

  • Oh lord, I love love love New Yorkers. I am in Oklahoma, we will have tornado warnings for as long as 48hrs some times. Most of you guys have basements! We don't, lol we get in the bathroom. We also don't trip out till the sirens go off.

  • @Maggiemaerocks We do have basements but you don't understand that some people are at the top of skyscrapers. It's going to take a while for them to get down and by then they will probably will be dead already.

  • @GTAIVman buildings are built differently from houses, so if a tornado hit a building, it wouldn't collapse or fall over like a house would. i would say you would be safer in a building than in a house.

  • @Maggiemaerocks nyc unlucky we have no sirens most tornados are arare without waring and unexedtly lucky u guys

  • Heres how my reaction started out on this day:

    scared to death

    cried

    almost having an heart attack

    ready to go crazy

curled up in ball and prayed

My praying did pay off!!! but im telling ya scariest day of my life

  • @crazyman123774: Exactly my reaction! :O

  • @narutokid2 Lol! Cool.

  • @crazyman123774 same here

  • 6:14 off to the left you can see the Tornado!

  • when i was going to new york with my dad, i watched the news on my cellphone, the second we heard tornado warning, we turned around and headed back to jersey

  • @mysuperliam it ws haded from nw jersey headd 30 mph SE right in nyc

  • i was scared on this day

  • Just imagine the mother-in-law

  • that scene si BIG!!

  • I was at my house in NC and I STILL couldnt believe it.

  • I was driving home that day and recorded it.......check it out

  • I remember I was scared that day.Thankfully nothing happened.

  • yawn

  • This was a very scary day! I'm a model and was on my way to fashion week at Lincoln Center from my apartment on Park Avenue and I remember the sky being pretty clear one minute and then pitch black the next. The lightning was like nothing I've ever seen before and the rain was ridiculous! I took cover under an awning of one of the nearby apartment buildings and remember overhearing this guy on his cell talking about a TORNADO in Brooklyn....unreal.

  • @ARM2k5 you mean NOT VERY OFTEN, not unreal. Tornadoes are a real threat anywere including nyc. NYC just dont get as many twisters like Chicagoland Metro Area, The Great Plains states, Flordia, Atlanta GA Metro Area or Arkansas do.

  • i live in new york we never have that kind of wheather new york is like always sun but know we have this kind of wheather new york is still popurlay to live in

  • @justcoolforme you mean NEW YORK DONT GET TORNADOES VERY OFTEN. TORNADOES HAVE STRUCK NYC ON RARE OCCASIONS BEFORE 2010 AND 2007. Tornadoes are a real threat anywere including nyc. NYC just dont get as many twisters like Chicagoland Metro Area, The Great Plains states, Flordia, Atlanta GA Metro Area or Arkansas. For example, Snow is usually rare in my home state of Arkansas...but IT DONT MEAN THEY NEVER HAPPEN!

  • It's weird the man showing the radar and the cam can't stop saying 'a storm is bearing down on manhattan , a tornado warning.'

  • Here in South Jersey, we've had a few tornado watches/warnings over the past 3-4 years and we've never gotten a tornado.

  • dont see that everyday

  • this was very weak. the more recent storm was bigger. too bad we didnt get an F4 or F5.

  • i was in this tornado warning in new jersey

  • Jesus is coming back!!!

  • @djjhonnyctba either that or a 10 pound robin

  • I used 2 think that tornadoes would hit only in small towns or at least under tornado alley, but I was dead wrong. . . .I also saw a clip of a tornado warning in Los Angeles, Chicago, Houston, and NYC. . .the least of all places, never underestimate mother nature.

  • @austingirl0499 this storm was amazing. Although the mid west and south see more severe weather, NYC does get its fair share of severe weather too. I have a feeling that nyc will see more weather like this in the future.

  • That was NOT a Tornado. Just severe weather, and not even that strong. The worst of it went right through my house. I've been in much, much worse than that. This is just hype...

  • @Gmmaverick there were actually 2 of them one in the Bronx EF0 and one in Queens EF2 both were confirmed by the weather channel.

  • @AloMt I see one mass of clouds going by. But even if that's right, it seems to me that whatever went throw Brooklyn was the worst of it.

  • my cousines live in nyc they where running home scared to death

  • omg i was so scared i was crying lol but i lived in huntington it would be a little wide if it would hit us

  • god bless the woman that was killed thursday from a tree

  • @haunter239

Damn it looks like it was her day. That's some bad luck...

  • the weather channel is never right

  • it doesn't look it a tornado, it looks like a massive storm with strong wind..

  • He was getting way to excited about the lightning happening.

  • why are they acting like this is there first tornado when theve been having tornados since the 50s when scientist could track weather and its an F-1 at that...like wow they really should be praying for the lady who lost her life

  • Scaring

  • Is it just me, or is Chris a terrible broadcaster? He is pointing out obvious shit. It doesn't take a Sub-par meteorologist to point that out. It almost sounds like he is talking to a 3 year old

  • I am in Queens we just had one hit this past Thursday through out Queens, this is unusual we are not known to have tornadoes. In just 10 mins or so so much wreckage.

  • That guy said tornado 2 many times lol

  • it's happening right now

  • it happening like the movie the day after tommawrow

  • cooool im not from NYC im From JERESY..but we get mini tornadoes"but not huges 1s ..thnk god we didnt have them..huge ones/ i will b so scared ?

  • No sirens?

  • i agree definetly climate change in action. These storms are getting more severe every year

  • This tornado was planned and carried out by Osama Bin Laden

  • i can't believe a tornado's gonna hit new york city...

  • nahhh sep 16 was better

  • lmao, say flashes going off more

  • check my video at "Tornado in Brooklyn 9/16/2010"

  • It's true it just happen right now.Go to my channel to see the vidos I upload I almost died!!

  • yay for tornados in NYC =) gives us something to do.

  • what is the difference between at Ef2 and F2 isnt it the same thing cuz if so then why do we use a e infront of the F2.??

  • @TheRubbyroo- The "E" stands for enhanced. EF and F is still associated with tornadoes and 0-5, the only difference is they had realized it needed to be updated. How they come up with the rating and how they analyze damage and the steps they take is different vs. the original scale.

  • @ExtremeWeatherman And EF stands for enhanced fujita. They modified it 3 or 4 years ago.

  • @TheRubbyroo The scale has been changed to account for the building structures of today. it is now the Enhanced Fujita Scale. Since, for a building to be destroyed, it doesn't take more than 200+ mph winds to blow it from its foundation, and EF-5 is now considered winds over 200+ to cause F5 dmage.

  • @TheRubbyroo EF is the Enhanced Fujita Scale. They updated the Fujita Scale one day after the Greensburg EF5 Tornado

  • @AirRaider56

The scale was updated in February of 2007, the Greensburg tornado was in May

  • @dragonridley I just read it on NOAA (if you dont know what that is, its the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration, or the National Weather Service) and that said it was updated after the Greensburg Tornado.

  • @AirRaider56

I've read plenty of NOAA articles myself.

All articles I have read say that the Enhanced Fujita scale went into effect on February 1 2007.

Could you PM me the link?

    And happy new year.

  • Feb 1st, 2007

  • @AirRaider56- Feb 1st, 2007

  • I saw that from my house. That was a mother storm indeed!!!!!

  • @liljay227 Wow you wanna see a "mother storm", you should come on down to the Midwest. This is a tiny little T-storm compared to what we usually get.

  • I live in Essex -.-

  • they always say there will be a tornado in new york but i had never happened

  • @XxshadeaxX dude tornadoes happened many times in NYC

  • i remember this i live in hicksville near nyc and when i was leaving 7/11 i saw incredible lightning and i saw that there was a tornado warning that had just expired

  • i chased this storm from its orgins from just north of scranton, pa all the way to new york! saw the tornado in wayne county, pa spawned by this same cell.

  • you know, when i was running away from a tornado looking cloud during a feast people thought i was crazy. Was I this day?

  • @kandoodle1- If you were running for cover (protection), then you were doing the right thing.

  • wow i never new there can be a tornado in the largest city in the us or very unlikely

  • Do anyone know how many times they said >>> " right now!!! " ? lol

  • If interested, you can heck out the timelapse video I shot of this same storm from my roof in NYC downtwn Manhattan. It's on my youtube channel.

  • @GuerrillaGuru- I did, thanks!

  • We had an EF4 tornado around my area of Toledo, Ohio on June 5th 2010. The tornado hit at night time around 11:30ish and then acouple hours later another huge storm came and the sirens went off again. Milburry, Ohio looks like a war zone. It's very sad. I get so scared everytime we have a tornado warning and the sirens go off now. Hugs from Toledo, Ohio.

  • when was the last time a TORNADO hit the NY area?

  • @7instantcoffee7- The last tornado to hit the NY area was in 2007, in which touched down and hit Staten Island and Brooklyn. Before that was 2003.

  • @ExtremeWeatherman ah yes that tornado was classified as a F1 or close to an F2(before the EF upgrade) right?

  • @Ecw4Lyfe- Correct. The one that hit in 2007 was F2 if using the old scale. (F2 113-157mph) (EF2 111-135mph).

  • @ExtremeWeatherman I thought so. I was leaning towards F2

  • @ExtremeWeatherman a few have hit long island farmingdale, massapequa warnings scary being massapequa is the next town

  • Why is this guy REPEATING HIMSELF OVER AND OVER AND OVER AND OVER AND OVER AND OVER AND OVER!!!!!!!!!!!!!???????????????? That almost induced hallucinations for me -- come on, once is enough! And stop shouting, we can hear you just fine

  • @7instantcoffee7 - Haha, it was a combination of excitement and trying to fill in the time.. If a tornado had been seen on that skycam, what you see now (over and over talking and yelling) would be considered calm. ha

  • @7instantcoffee7 i was going to say the same thing

  • here in newark doesnt had tornado, just a heavy rain, but not unormaly

  • lucky... the only thing we get is high temperature warnings....ALL SUMMER

  • eh where im from (st louis) we get tornado warnings all the time

  • Someone had a very good drinking game watching this...

  • you know he's basically saying "we're fucked" in his mind.

  • That's crazy that just 2 days after this a Tornado did touch down in The Bronx.

  • @The2Coolest2 I know but it's none as strong as this one

  • I remebr this all I c at 9 o'clok it was all orange sky so much lightning and rain btw I was in brooklyne but lucky staten island didn't get nuthn

  • Why goes this sound like a sports program?

Hey Weather Channel, get rid of this format PLEASE.

  • A tornado happened in New York City in 1976.

  • @starfox7673 a tprnado happened a few years ago

  • There were Funnel clouds, but not enough to form a tornado!
