I always keep my Sophie wristband everywhere I go, what these people did to her and her boyfriend is unforgiveable and should not be tolerated anywhere else. I've had people giving me jip cos of the way I dressed (I used to wear black tops and baggy or skinny jeans etc) and one chav lass punched me. The bouncer stood up for me,its nice to know there's some good people out there.
I frequently watch this to remind myself of how lucky I am to be here... Sophie didn't have a choice in what happened to her, but from what I've heard she was never afraid to be the person that she was and stand up for what she believed in. I think we should all take something from this and be inspired by this beautiful, courageous young woman. Be thankful that you still have the chance to be whatever you want to be, and don't be afraid of who you are or what people may think..

My Brother was (shortly) hospitalised for protecting his Girlfriend and her best friend from Metal-haters. Lucky it wasn't too bad. Another time he had a beer bottle smashed over his head because some guy didn't like they were Metal-heads and having fun. His girlfriend was on his lap and also coped some of the glass to the face.

I am a goth, and luckily nothing so terrible has ever come close to happening to me, but I still have heard unpleasant insults and the like. My Brother was (shortly) hospitalised for protecting his Girlfriend and her best friend from Metal-haters. Lucky it wasn't too bad. Another time he had a beer bottle smashed over his head because some guy didn't like they were Metal-heads and having fun. His girlfriend was on his lap and also coped some of the glass to the face.
I wont go into town without a male because of some of the shit I've had to put up with walking anywhere at night dressed as who I am.

What heppened to sweet Sophie and her boyfriend was beyond horrifying. I am a goth, and luckily nothing so terrible has ever come close to happening to me, but I still have heard unpleasant insults and the like. On a positive note, the two teenage guys who were successfully convicted of her murder were both given prison sentences.
They appealed.
After due consideration to their appeal, the appeals court agreed that one of the guy's prison sentences was inappropriate..
The court of appeal increased his sentence.
There is justice in this world after all...
It wont bring back the life of this poor girl, but it will ensure her murders remain in prison - and now for even longer...
