When I was at the store I saw a whole can of fresh oysters out of the shell next the the whole shells for like $7 bucks, so my recomendation is: try making everything from scractch once to realize that its a bitch, keep the deep part of the oysters and next time, buy just the fresh oysker out of the shell, put it in the extisting oyster shells (because you kept them) and wala, m.f. Rockefellers in half the f. time.
"Sidewalk salt" is a salt that you would spread on your ice-covered sidewalk. It melts the ice. Obviously, you don't live anywhere in the NORTH in the wintertime!
yeah silly,i live in brooklyn.i seen my fair share of a snowstorm.read the comment above me about the sidewalk salt.i wasnt even thinking of that kinda salt.why would anyone wanna use sidewalk side to eat? is it something i'm missing here?

Perfectly safe to cook with "sidewalk salt", as it basically provides a base for the Oyster shells, but never touches the actual oyster.
