You would have to store litteraly tons of food
And have warm shelter.

Now as of my experience, I can tell you:
-more than half of the taxi drivers are doctors who can afford enough food and the government will not raise their monthly ration.
-If you are a farmer you don't own your animals nor your crops. you loose an animal they charge you a fee. the same if something happens to your crops. but of course the government doesn't help you in nothing, when farming.

How many nuclear weapons do we need, 100?200? oh...we have 70,000! How much do we spend on the war...one million dollars per soldier per yr? Could this money be better spent on defensive rather than offensive weapons? Do you realize the trillions that were misplaced by the DOD (1982) would add up to $8000 for every man woman and child in the US? This war money could be better used to feed and give health care to all the US citizens. The next nuclear war will be our last war.
