  • @Anafaithfulgirl cause he is the host... the narrator....

  • @Partyffs Chances are this dish is only reserved for very special ocassions, it's no different than spending a few hours preping a thanksgiving meal.

  • i love

  • i taught the yuzu peel was lemon

  • Where can I find dashi stock, benito flakes and shiitake mushrooms outside Japan?

  • @HMGaga an Asian market is your best bet

  • @HMGaga Your local asian market should have all of these things...sometimes stores like Whole Foods will too :)

  • This amazing woman is such an artist! Her videos are fantastic.

  • what is that white/pink thing? is it meat?

  • @CrustyCrackers I dont know...but it sure isnt meat.

  • @CrustyCrackers It is a fish cake, so yes it is meat. They take a white fish, puree it, and bake it into a cake like so. Usually by adding calcium hydroxide it gives it a jelly soft texture.

  • "lets zteam the weztabels"

  • I love How It Says MushRoumz HAHA

  • "Steam da veztablez". LOLOL >.< Srsly tho I live this show.

  • i hate watching these vids because during the vid i have a strong urge to want to go to japan to eat food-.- fml

  • Can i get all this at an asian market?

  • @laurag333 most of the ingredients, i have a hard time finding the flakes. and the meat (i think thats what is is, because i cant find it to start making this soup) with the block.

  • @1andonlytruepinoy The white thing is Kamaboko, a steamed fish cake. Your best bet to find it would be an asian mart. One of the asian marts in my area sells it.

  • @chilliconcarnie1 its fish.

  • why are you on youtube you should be on food network >:O

  • @meowmax100 A food network? They should have their own food network!

  • @meowmax100 they dont have american channels in japan, but i wished she got a show there and did this on ttv

  • @meowmax100

D: Food Network is such a piece of poop.

  • is that a real dog??? O.o just sitting there and watching the food.....

  • I really like the way everything was prepared... Love it!

  • The cutting and slicing itself is art.... Japanese cooking is awesome

  • omg thanks a lot ! im hungry now...D:

  • I am a malay boy everytime i have sex with my japanese girlfren I always smell soy sauce.

  • @THEWORLD116 that is one unappropriated comment... i dont know if your intention was humor but it is still unappropriated...

  • in the end you will just eat it and then shit... :DDD

  • what is this pink thing at: 1:48``?

  • @TurQHak

    Kamaboko - Steamed Fish Cake

  • I gotta stop watching this! Its addicting as hell.

  • dog is so obedient the whole time

  • woah whats that thing at the end? why havent i seen that?? it looks soooooooo tasty!

  • @mangamastermolly Strawberry Daifuku, It's very tasty and fun to make. ^_^

  • We don't have that kind of ingredients in my country TT__TT

  • i was wondering, why the hand is really red when it zoom in?

  • can i use cookie cutter?

  • very clear presentation. I love it .

  • it's good to know the cast and crew of "Cooking with Dog" are well. I wish Japan a speedy recovery...

  • thumbs up for cooking with dog

  • It is so unsanitary to cook with a dog sitting next to the food!

  • @SGmom2 it isn't doing anything but sitting there

  • wtf soup ???

    WTF??

  • I ate this on New Years. It's good luck! :)

  • Can I Marry you? O.O

  • i love watching this woman such pride in what she does, but her knife skills kick arse. does anyone know what the kamaboko is and what does it taste like, it looks sweet like a lollie to me.

  • @chrissymoda it's like a fish cake (it's soft and fluffy), taste like fish :3

  • @chrissymoda it's like a fish cake (it's soft and fluffy), taste like fish :3

  • @chrissymoda it's like a fish cake (it's soft and fluffy), taste like fish :3

  • @chrissymoda Kamaboko is fish cake. It tastes like fish. Haha.

  • @daniyellowjello Why do they package it with a block of wood?

  • @theuglykwan I always thought that's so it doesn't get all damaged on the bottom, but I don't know, maybe it's also for a cutting board...lol

  • Can anything be done with the daikon skin?

  • @foxxybrat It can possibly be cut into a Garnish :D It's just tough is all it's completly eatable. ^_^ hope this helps<3

  • @ThePuppetMuffin Thank you!

  • wow i like those strawberries

  • @macchiatogurl91

    It called "Ichigo-Daifuku"

  • So, what is the recipe using the used katsuo and kombu?

  • Happy New Year!

  • Addicted. Can't sleep. Must EAT!!! OM NOM NOM NOM.

  • My countryside's Ozoni soup(New Year's soup) is a little bit different. We add white miso to the soup stock instead of salt and soy source. And the rice cake has anko(bean jam) in the middle. So it's sweet miso soup. :)

  • omohi ( ^ ^ )/□ お正月

  • MAKIN' ME HUNGRY! ;^O I wish I knew where to buy these ingredients, I never find them in the stores near me.

  • I remember the times when my gramma, mom and I cooked this dish together on new year's days. Good old days...*sob* Now, I'm in UK and my gramma passed away 8 years ago. This dish makes me so nostalgic.

  • I seriously love this cooking show alot :D it teaches alot ! i love it ! Dun you guys agree ?

  • @emohellangel yes i agree but i will not eat this any time soon (i can get only few ingredients) :D

  • @MixiestA Yes .. i agree with you too :D this is really a good dish to cook when the days are cold , but not in My country , Its never cold like snowing or anything . but instead , i would prefer to make ice-cream here , cause its hot like hell almost everyday . I am quite sure that not all the ingredients are easy to find though .. but i do hope that you'll get to find those ingredients soon :D Good Luck !

  • excellent cooking video, beautiful techniques and presentation of the foods. i am just wondering if the dog might get burn being so close to the fire?

  • @shopperoo99 no.. the dog isnt actually as close as it looks its actually pretty far away from the stove and the dog is well trained and wont be stupid enough to jump onto the stove :)

  • @SandraCui I am aware the dog is not stupid enough to jump into the fire. If there's any concern I am having is that the dog is on some precarious stand that can "accidentally" be knocked into the fire. or worse yet, the flame might catch his fur without him leaping into the pot. either way, he seems fine in every video. just worry for the dog's safety as any responsible dog owner would.

  • what is this white-red shit?

  • @CaptainUkraine

its steamed fish cake (its says in the description)

  • 19 people didnt like Ozoni soup!

  • So.....hungry.........

  • I mean, it's kinda cute all the decorating and stuff... it still looks like something I wouldn't eat, though.

  • こっちでいいお餅がない><

  • I'd sure hate to slip with that knife.

  • The detail is so precise and beautiful *o*

  • For those of you wondering... The reason there is so much preparation in this particular dish is because it is mainly a soup made for a special occasion, that occasion being New Year's Day. The ingredients symbolize the various Japanese cultural sentiments about the New Year. Neat isn't it?

  • @ESPSAlita That doesn't explain the immense presentation and work involved in almost all her dishes eg. the bento box.. lol

  • @theuglykwan wouldn't you rather eat delicious, beautiful looking food than boring old sandwiches all day long? there is more work involved, yes, but the result I'd say is worth it

  • @crystalclearwolf I know what you mean. When i return from vacations in asia to europe, i get so depressed looking at my lunch options! However, the amount of work they put into presentation seems excessive and often wasteful (eg, cutting the pattern into the shitake mushrooms and discarding those parts) and their bullet proof wrapping of simple purchases in stores. Imo they could get better results concentrating on the flavour of their food as often it looks fantastic but tastes bland.

  • @ESPSAlita

in the Netherlands we just eat deep-fried dough with powdered sugar. because are new year is always in the middle of winter when you need allot of calories. XD

  • @ESPSAlita yeah!... but the second he said there was mochi in it I instantaniously knew it was a new years dish
