I just got the iPad 2 today and I also had the first iPad and to be quite honest with you, the original iPad is the ideal one. There is not much of a difference between the two, only that the new one is thinner and has 2 cameras and even with A5 chip, regular web browsing and streaming online won't make a difference. The iPad 2 are coming out defective for most people unlike the previous one and it's easier to drop than the first one as well if you're not careful enough.

this helped me alot i used to have a ipad 1 16gb i sold it and bought a ipad 2 32gb mainly for my wife useing facebook with the grand kids but now i am going to give it to her and most likely get me another ipad 1 u r right it is just as fast.

I did the exact same thing, iPad 1 16GB, don't need the features of the 2... Probably upgrade it when the 3 comes out but for now is absolutely fine! :)

You would end up spending the same amount or more to buy both an ipad 1 and an ipod touch 4g... why not just get the features of both in a faster more polished package from the ipad 2?

@qdog1342 because the ipod touch 4 is more portable an ipad cant fit in a pocket its looks weird holding it and filming a video or taking pics looks very much retarded...technology is all about getting thinner smaller and lighter the ipad is bigger screen wise and just as thin as a ipod touch but not as portable that's the big difference even though its fun to use it on a big screen its just not as portable and thats a down fall.not only that but there aren't many apps for it in the app store
