@soulcornflake14 yes, lol. there is a quote, I've forgotten it now but it says something to that effect..about dolphins training us to bring fish to them ;)
I've seen this done with many belugas. They love it- it's a game to them to bounce up and down in the water. In all the situations I've seen (personally, 2 feet from the whale), they have every opportunity to leave the area and not participate. This was also while there was no food or primary reinforcement involved. They never expected food or a "treat"...they were there because they enjoyed the interaction and bouncing
That Beluga Whale is Ferdinand. He cames from Germany (Zoo Duisburg), where he lived from 1975 till 2004 before he moved to San Diego and yes, he loves that. In Duisburg it was the command to put after this the trainer's head in his mouth. No, it is not a joke. Have a look at my website ferdinand.exclusivezone.de There you can find more about him.
Quit flipping out it doesn't hurt the whales it's a game they play and the whale abviously likes it cause it keeps playing so quit being an idiot for once in your life and actually LOOK instead of assume
this is not playing! playing would be to embrace the whale when it jumps up. this guy is pushing the whale back down against the whale's uplifting movements. it's an oppressive and repressive reactions against the whale. shame on you people for doing this to these incredible animals and being too ignorant to be able to figure out what you are doing.
One fact: Japanese kill dolphins and whales in a massive number every year!!!!
Let's start boycott all Japanese products.
Problematic Toyota cars have caused the death of 34 US citizens and other numerous accidents. I sold my 08 Camry a few days ago because I don't want my family to die on the highway one day in Canberra.
Crappy products made by stupid country - made in Jap, a shame.
belugas aren't toys!! they are flesh and blood and deserve to live a normal and happy life without humans 'playing' and 'petting' them. poor creatures.
@queenofthevideos looks like he's having as much fun playing with the human as the human is having.
This may not jive with your utopian view of the world, but really, people who work with animals like this increase awareness of protecting these beautiful creatures more than any march or demonstration ever would.
COOL! Nice bit of dribbling the Belugas, LOL. Amazing, because they are so shy, the San Diego Sea World trainers told my family whilst on a V.I.P. behind-the-scenes-tour of the Belugas(during which my son "SWAM" withthe Belugas!! ---because he works at Sea World), Polar Bears, and HUGE Walrus paddocks...see youtube vid "Guaranteed Eternal Sanctuary Man"
Awww sooo cute i swear if these cuties go extincts the people who caused them too will suffer

@dreyko11185 Do you ever wonder if maybe the belugas say to each other 'look how cute--the humans are so easily entertained!'?

if they wanted to increase awareness they wouldn't destroy these beautiful creatures in the first place!

they like it it makes them feel loved i have talked to trainers who have delt with them.

then please explain all the accidents that have happened due to belugas getting violent on their trainers.
queenofthevideos 1 year ago
@queenofthevideos when you do something that ticks them off then they will attack just like humans.
shanequabeal11 1 year ago
Totally with you, queenofthevideos.
The only way to study and understand these critters is in the wild.
We learn nothing from them in captivity.
