@zoomingvictor later this year they will be (mid 2012). However, there's a waiting list, so realistically, you're looking at early 2013 before the "average Joe" can get one. Check there website (Tesla dot come) to double check me though.
@boogiebuddy01 nothing. Nobody is stupid enough to design electric car that isn't waterproof. You can even drive it through puddles up above the wheels without issue.
I have just one question, what if I live in an apartment building? Where am I going to charge the car? I don't care about the stupid emissions, but I do care that the car have a max torque at 0rpm and it looks nice. The big problems for me is the charging and that the dashboard looks vary ugly.
@y22tim dude, arguing that having the screen there is dangerous while driving is moot. Anyone can send a text message while driving and they'd be equally guilty. Most mid-range modern cars have a screen, albeit smaller in size.
You don't blame the 'screen' is drivers aren't eyeing the road. You blame the driver. This is applicable to any distraction of any nature - therefore, the person, and not the tool, is to blame.
@y22tim I find the electronics amazingly useful. Great idea. Lots of businessman tools to play around with while sitting around. Entertainment for the passenger. Yeah, heaven forbid the passenger has a play around with the LCD whilst the driver focuses on the road, or that the driver pulls over to use the software.
@kkjgg112391 - It was totally silent (the rain was louder than the tires). I was especially curious about engine noise and handling. The latest Motortrend wrote: "Interestingly, while the motor is quiet, its growly roar is a very different acoustic signature than the frenetic whine in the Roadster. Tesla claims that's just how it sounds, and no acoustic modifications have been attempted."
@kkjgg112391 - Regarding suspension, I was on smooth pavement, so no bump test, but I can say it handles really well with the weight of the drive train (batteries + motor) below the wheel line. It should be able to corner unlike any gas car.

The new revised interior is ugly, reminded me of those 1970s kitchen cabinets. and appliances trying to look futuristic.

I'm wondering about the drivers seat, I'm around 6'7-8" and have had problems fitting in regular cars. whats the situation in the Model S?
TheLuciferSDevil 3 months ago
Fuck you people are dumb if you think that the the screen is there so that you can keep your eyes on it while driving.

dump the wizbang electronics in the cockpit - eyes on the road please.
That screen has no business in the car.
Oh I see - crash due to onboard distraction and buy another. Great business model. NOT
