I have been a body man for 35 years and the best way to sand bumper covers is to wet the cover and sand with scotch brite and ajax. It sands and cleans at the same time. And with this you dont miss places in corners and dips.

Ok first off i work in a body shop, sooo.. let me give you some tips. You never paint anything on the car. 10$ sais i will find overspray somewhere. 2nd Those blocks you were using are made to be not to soft and not too hard so you would sand it even with no scraches. n64 game isnt going to cut it. 3rd never touch the bumper after you sand it, there is grease on your hands. 4th allways wipe everything off with acetone before painting. 5th why did you paint everything black on a blue car?

@corvetteracer916 It depends how he did it more than what he used. If it was rusted before and he just sprayed over it then yes it will rust again. Also depends on what kind of primer he used and how much time he took to prime it. Remember that rust is worse than cancer for a car, It has to be completely cut out or it will come back sooner or later.
