Did you play on the chaos or empire sides? If so i agree with you. Those areas were quite depressing and dull. I find them the least entertaining in the game. The Greenskin vs Dwarf tier on the other hand is wonderful, colourful and full of humour. I believe the developers gave the zones different themes to appeal to the various types of gamers. Pick your side accordingly.

one thing that made me switch to WoW was that everything in this damn game was so... uncolorful, you only every saw red in fire and besides that everything is darkish, which puts me in a deppressed area kind of thing. Cant stand games where there is no colo, plus the extreme lag didnt help either

I quite like the instances I've tried so far. It's true the pvp in this game is very good and as a result the pve aspects often get overshadowed but they are jsut as enjoyable as long as you have a good group of friends to roll with. I believe alot of people don't engage with it because they are more solo oriented players. Banes is situated on Volkmar.  Look forward to seeing you in game if you play there.
