  • Many people are worried about diabetes. They have it because of years of eating too much sugar. Most packaged things you buy have sugar as one main ingredient. They also don't eat healthy. When was the last time you had raw veggies? When you cook things all the nutrition is gone and the enzymes are gone from the veggies. Look up rawfor30days if you don't believe me.

  • I have experienced some of the symptoms of diabetes stated in this video... those are frequent urination (like i have to go to the toilet up to 10 times in a day) and i am often thirsty. am i diabetic?

  • i have monitered my self for over a half year now an im pretty positive i have diabetes..im really scared an i've done my research on the disease itself an found that i have every symptom associated with the disease..i am 17 yrs old... i have talked to my parents numerous times an they haven't taken it seriously..an on top of that the expenses for an check ups are impossible an are not in our buddget...healthy food is expensive so we cant afford it..please i need help an i feel im getting worse.

  • @ladykelsei It's all about your diet so I'm not surprised you have diabetes. A lot of Americans and even kids have it. It's because you eat too much unhealthy stuff (fast food) and sugar. What did your parents pack for you for lunch? I've got news for you, they packed you sugar. Read the ingredients of what you buy. 1 major ingredient may be sugar! And how often do you drink soda (loads of sugar)? You can help yourself by eating more raw foods (salad, some fruits).

  • @ladykelsei have you gone to the doctor and told the doc about it and asked for a blood test? gotta do it somehow. wish u all the best.

  • well i always support diabetes where i am but i just need courage to support more ppl i can thank u.

  • @mywowvideos It's best to go see a doctor and get tested. There is a product has helped people with diabetes along with other ailments like eczema heart problems and more. Since it is a whole food nutrition product it's safe for kids, adults and even animals. I'm happy to share some info with you and your parents about this product.

  • Hey guys, I'm 14 years old and i've noticed that I have had many of the symptoms including, Fatigue, a little bit of thirtsyness, but not all the time, and I have to go to urinate more than I usually do, i did the fasting test and my sugar came out as 107. Do I have diabetes? Or do I have Pre-Diabetes? Please respond soon.

  • hey guys im overweight and i think i might have diabetes but when i check my blood sugar its at 110 or lower before i eat.....then i wait after i eat and it gets lower throughout the day...but after i eat i get dizzy do u think i might have diabetes??????

  • My dick has diabetes =(

  • My doctor never told me straight out I had type 2 diabetes? My last blood test my blood sugar was 149 so my doctor prescribed "metformin" 500mg extended release.

  • @WorldTurnBlack Have you heard about the research done in the UK? Check yahoo news.Article in there.

Very low cal diet for 8 weeks. Kicks starts the body into producing insulin again. Worked for 7 out of 11 people.

  • I have type two diabetes and I have no symptoms. I feel great. Some are immune to the disease. I have never felt better. People who have type two dont feel anything. These people are considered lucky. Indjlin plays an important part in the fight againt diabetes. The role is a factor. Diabetes factors in that if you exercise and take carei of yourself you wont feel the effects. It takes awhile but its worth it in the long run

  • @starsfound lose weight and you won't have to worry about it at all. Getting in better shape can revert the insulin resistance your body has built up to insulin. Be glad you don't have type 1 diabetes and your body can still produce insulin.

  • @JDBlessin You are right. I had a blood the the a1c test and it was 5.7, Doctor said that was great. I am so glad I discovered a new way of eating, which is healthy! To bad I didn't use my noodle beforehand.

  • i had pre diabetes, so i ate some ice cream so it would make me feel better, now i have type 2. fml

  • Sometimes you need to broaden your focus a bit, stop just staring at her jacket -_-'

  • @FearOfTheFlesh ahhh..well let me say thanks, primarily because i had this video on audio for the most of it and watched the tail end of it when i made my comment about the whole reading card thing

  • is she a doctor or an actress reading a screen?

  • @uradoochbag

She is obviously a doctor...it says her name, degree as an M.D., and even where she teaches right under her....you are no med student are you :P

  • @FearOfTheFlesh really where on her jacket tell me where the info is that u see

  • @uradoochbag

K see that big purple panel that comes from the left? Read that.

It says the following: Dr. Melanie Jay, M.D. Primary Care Internist, Obesity Specialist, Clinical Asst. Professor, NYU School of Medicine.

Let us break this down. First Dr. this means doctor so generally either Medical Doctor or phD = clue 1, clue 2 = MD after her name hmmm...looks like she is a physician, clue 3 = primary care internist, internist = internal medicine doctor.

  • @FearOfTheFlesh might be my eyes, but i dont know...they say that "they" have great eyesight and can see far, but i don't know

  • This is a great video and just for others who may read this that are diabetic I found a great site that helped my friend out alot who is a diabetic thediabetichelpers . com

  • quick question i just got a fractured foot and ever since then i drink alot of water can this be diabetes or is it just tiredness?

  • @Reeper491

Go and see your doctor. Unqualified people can't really answer your health queries as it isn't safe. I hope you're ok.

  • Can type 2 change to type 1? I've gone to the pen (insulin) & am gradually increasing the dose. My a1c was 9.1, and since starting insulin 6 wks ago, am now 8.0. Is it my age which determines type or the taking of insulin?

  • It's irresponsible to tell people you can cure diabetes. You can't!

  • @AmelieYvette I told a 77 year old woman how to stop taking insulin she was a diabetic for 25 years. it only takes a month. diabetics are chemically loaded and there bodies have lost control. It is possible to gain control again thru diet, water and supplements. All diabetics have candida infections, a simple home test proves it.

Unless u eat a diet resistant to candida u will not control diabetes.

  • @dulosforchrist

You have no right doing that. You are not a doctor. At 77 years of age, that is very dangerous. You You are clearly highly intelligent, so much so that you cannot differentiate between there and their. I think you meant to say "their bodies have lost control".

  • @AmelieYvette Does it bother you so much to hear the real truth? If you have been chemically trained then you will have trouble understanding. U see many years ago my wife had colitis and arthritis both have been cured. I know you have been trained to believe there is no cure. I always questioned everything in life. Even when some one says they have the truth. If u took the time to study then u would know.

  • @dulosforchrist

Have it your way. My opinion differs to yours. I prefer to put my faith in someone who spent years of their lives studying than some guy who looks stuff up on the internet and beleives it. medicine isn't about truth, it's about empirical science and fact. Philolosphy is all about truth.

You aren't cured of your diabetes. if you ever started eating badly again, you'd get it back. so you've only got your diabetes under control and are lucky to not need treatment.

  • @AmelieYvette you are correct if you continue to eat an acidic diet you could have diabetes again.

The simple part is an acid diet feeds candida, which controls the body. Once the body is overwhelmed then the body falls apart. Yes a change of diet will turn around this condition. Drinking alkaline water will speed the recovery. Taking a few herbs speeds it up more. Being sick is a choice with knowledge.

  • You mentioned the symptoms of type I diabetes is severe hunger and thirst. I have type II diabetes, and I had these symptoms. Please do your research a little more carefully.

  • @SuperChicagolady they are basically the same symptoms. either way they are a side effect of high blood sugar. diabetes type 1 and 2 both give you high blood sugar.

  • fuk when hearing these symptoms, i think i might have diabets too :(

  • Beauty doctor but speak too fast.

  • i have type 2 diabetes; and im a high sku student , however im takin metformin , and theres times when im in class and i totally dont get what my teacher is sayin, or i read something and it does not get stuck.. is that part of being a diabetic??

  • @dulosforchrist,,, how were you treated?

  • OH shit i think I might have type 2 Diabetes, but i dont have medical lol. OH well nothing I can do. but I often get tingling hands, blurry vision, I couldnt get it up 2 week ago for some reason. last nite when i was sleeping i think i experienced a hot flash. Im not sure it was but it felt like hot stuff was coming out of my body I was sweaty and stuff, I cant really remember much of it cause i tried to ignore it hoping it would go away so i could sleep. it was horrible.

  • Wow. I am 44 and I drink a lot of white wine, usually with pop/soda. Recently after imibbing, I have noticed a time later that I have developed hives on my breast and abdomen. I have also felt "tickles" on my head, face and body. My Dr told me 2 years ago that I am a candidate for diabetes....am I now on my way?

  • Can someone help me out here? First of all diabetes is in my family. for the past week i've been REALLY thirsty all the time, can't get rid of it, i've been loosing weight, when i get up too fast my head spins and i have to sit down, and my legs feel like rubber when i go down stairs. However, i am never hungry and feel no urge to eat even when i am, ALSO i haven't been eating very little, and don't drink alot of water.. is it diabetes or just low blood sugar, think im hypoglycemic

  • As far as I know diabetes is incurable but treatable. You cant be cured but you can be treated so that you seem to be diabetes free. Diabetes Doesnt kill you like a fall doest kill you .. Its the impact that kills you. Organ failure in other words.

  • HA HA YOU HAVE DIABETES!!!

  • @fugiboo Ha HA You have cancer!

  • No you have cancer, you have aids, and your stupid in your face.

  • omg what if I pee every 1 hour?

  • Thats it, i know why i've been having these weird symptoms for a while now. My hands and feet tingle all the time. This morning one of my toes became completely numb. I am thirsty all the time. My kidney has been hurting lately. My mom has extremely high blood pressure. Looks like i need to make an appointment. I am so fucking scared, but all the signs point to diabetes, every single last one of them..and those are just some of my symptoms.

  • I think I have type 2 minus the sores

  • Its almost impossible to actually know if your ancestors had either type1 or 2 diabetes. Most doctors at least in England are reluctant to perform a blood test, They just test your urine and declare you diabetes free. I know it happened to me despite the obvious symptoms. We need better diet advice.

  • Urine test is not a good test to diagnose diabetes. It has many problems. Ask your doctor to do a blood test for you. Watch the video on urine test in diabetes on you tube.

  • @meandmyhealth I did exactly that after ten years of showing clear symptoms I insisted on a blood test and guess what? It came back positive type2. How many other people are dismissed by a clear urine test? Now I'm on all the meds I need and have changed my diet and excercise regime. Thanks for the info

  • East africans such as somalians etiopians and eritreans are the least likely to develop diabetes ,so caucasians are more likely to get diabetes than east africans so ur wrong on ''if ur non caucasian ur less likely to develop diabetes'' yes but there are the exceptions !!!

  • oh yeah and if you have diabetes you take an injection every day ok i got that but um what else happens? what can't you eat.

  • The reason people get diabetes is because an organ called the pancrea suddenly stops producing insulin. Insulin is a hormone used by the cells in the body to make the blood sugar (glucose) into storagable energy (glycogen). This is all needed to complete a successful respiratory process.

When your pancrea stops producing insulin for the body, you have to inject the insulin yourself. For non-diabetics, the body stabilizes the level of insulin itself, so it doesn't matter how much sugar you eat.

  • However; if you dont inject insulin frequently, the body cells will fail to obtain the glucose, making the sugar trapped in your blood. If this happens, your blood sugar will rise, and you will feel dizzy, uncomfortable, and long exposure to these effects can cause a diabetic coma.

I hope what I wrote helped you understand. :)

  • For diabetics, the amount of sugar you ingest during meals throughout the day, is all controlled by the amount of insulin you inject. Therefore, it would be unwise to eat lots of candy if you take a usual small dose of insulin.

The more sugar you obtain, the more insulin you need.

    So, to sum it up: There's nothing you can't eat. You can continue your daily life as long as you have your insulin on you. However;

  • Diabetics are suppose to stay away from food with alot of sugar in it. Also food with alot of carbs in it. We have to drink sugar free and diet drinks. Not only do they have to inject insulin but also test their blood everyday with a gluclose meter. Diabetes is not a painful disease but it effect every part of your body if you dont take care of it. You can go blind, have your limbs cut off, or kidney failure, gum disease, every part of your body is not safe with diabetes. All because of sugars!

  • I always hungry and thirsty, always loosing wait and my mouth is very dry ,I have blurry vision in school, nd very tired all the time

  • im showin all the signs for type 1 of diabetes n now im just really scared n freaked out :(

  • @GobbolinoCJM

Go ask out your doctor. :) You can easily have the symptoms without have diabetes, so relax. You might not have it. Check with your doctor to be sure, tho.

  • guys please help me!! My dad's grandmother and grandpa died of diabetes, ok look, um at night when i'm about to sleep i go and drink some juice, it's like i need to get some sugar, and um well when my feet are in water um i get a small tingling in the water for a little bit and then it goes, as for the blurry vision is the blurry vision like it's there or is it a blurry as in it comes and it goes.

  • If it goes back to your great-grandparents, and your grandparents and parents dont suffer from diabetes, the chance is minimal that you have it. However, out from the symptoms that you write down here, I myself get rather concerned. High blood sugar changes the shape and flexibility of the lens of the eye distorting the ability to focus and causes blurred vision. I think you should go talk with your parents, have them take you to a doctor, and then get a blood test. :) please hurry though.

  • If I have diabetes, i heard you can take a pill instead of an injection now? and um does that mean I can't take things like fast food, or a donut or coca cola, plz explain

  • um everflamen you know for the blurry vision, it's like um, i dont think it's something to do with diabetes, i mean i pplay computer games alot and um after i look at the screen for long and i look at a tv screen it's like um, i can see the lights of the tv reflecting off and um a bit blurry but i think that's has to do with me playing games alot, the sympton i seem to have is thirst, but the thirst i have is alike i go and take a drink sometimesbofore i sleep.

  • oh sorry i meant my dad's parents not grandparents.

  • um if i find out that i dont have diabetes but there's a chance i might get it in the future, is it possible to take something to be immune from it, my parents checked me as a baby and as a baby i had no diabetes.

  • i'm writing a text about diabetes 2... any good websides to get some facts?

  • Its 3.30am and i know for sure i have type 2.

    Going to doc tomo.

  • There are great vids of Dr Cousens offering ways to lower the intake of insulin and getting the pancreas fit again.

  • If you have diabetes, find a diabetes education program at your nearest hospital. They can give you great help in dealing with the disease and help you greatly lower your risk of complications!

  • you really should specify that this video is talking about TYPE 2 diabetes not type one. by doing so you are greatly discrediting the struggle peaple with Type 1 go through just to live!

  • And when did i ever say that this video was talking ABOUT TYPE ONE DIABETES?

  • You didn't. you don't specify that at all. in the video it just says diabetes not one or the other.

  • diabetu-s!

  • DIABEETUS!

  • when someone loses weight, does he also lose his risk of diabetes or does he lower his blood sugar level. please answer XD

  • NO when you lose weight (as someone who has) if you already have diabetes. If you don't already have diabetes you can greatly lower your risk. Risk is based on more than just weight.

Yes, losing weight will help to lower blood sugar levels somewhat, however; your blood sugar levels are a result of what you eat, drink and how much sleep and exercise you get. Good luck.

  • I think I miht have a few symptoms, but it may just be my head... :S I, too, hope I don't have it D:

  • SEE Your doctor and be checked out!

    Immediately. Diabetes is controllable!

  • I've been having numbness in my hands and feet lately I hope I dont have diebetes...

  • Please visit your doctor and be checked. This is nothing to wait and see about. You can lower your risks for complications by taking control early. So please find out if you have diabetes and then find a diabetes education program to help you deal with it!

  • i wonder what age are you at risk for getting diabetes? now what about drinking alot of pop? eating alot of salty foods? does that increase the chance of you getting diabetes?

  • You can get diabetes at any age,and no none of that raises your risk.

  • ok, thanks

  • im in my 20s so i never heard of anyone that young getting the disease

  • have you never taken a basic highschool health class?!

  • what does that have to do with the questions i have asked in regards of this video?

  • you are at risk of Diabetes at any age really, you can become a Diabetic by: being overweight or genetic or natural causes.

there is type 1 and type 2 diabetes

i have Diabetes and i have suffered with it for 12 years now, im now 16....

if you want to avoid having type 2 is mainly to eat healthy and stay fit....

    :)

  • can swine flu be life threatning to a person with diabeties

  • Gun, that depends on which type of diabetes you are asking about. It can be especially dangerous for type 2 diabetics. If you are type 1, the irony is, typically, your immune system is slightly stronger then most others.

  • phew i tough i got diabetes from am gonna start excersising and eating proper food tomorrow sigh.

  • I have not had classic diabetes symptoms but it does run in my family. My maternal great-grandmother died of it, and my maternal grandmother has diabetes. I understand you should cut back on starchy and sugary foods and foods and drinks with fructose or corn syrup.

  • im worried that i have diabetes

  • over the past few days i've been exstremely thirsty and as a result needed to go to the toilet a lot. I've been getting headaches freqeuntly and aslo been feeling very tired....

  • what is impeontcy!!?

  • I'm 17, is it too young to have it?

I've experienced the 'pins and needles' feeling in both my legs and hands very often in the last few years.

But lately, I've been extremely thirsty, and I keep having to go to the bathroom.

My vision has been getting blurry.

My hands shook so much today that it actually attracted the attention of my colleagues. I ate a piece of chocolate and it went away, mostly.

In the last few days my hands have been feeling dry. I've also been exhausted.

    =/

  • Go see a doctor then.

  • when my friend was extremely thirsty one night he had to go to the doctor and that was because his blood sugar was too high and he was diagnosed with diabetes

  • I used to be diabetic now I am cured.

  • seriously? how please reply :)

    because im diabetic too :(

  • @dulosforchrist I read that diabetics can't be cured because it's a resistance in the cells.

  • @dulosforchrist

Either you never had diabetes in the first place or you still have it. Diabetes cannot be cured.

  • @AmelieYvette . i think i pretty much cured my diabetes.

  • @adrianator2000

You mean your pre diabetes? Or perhaps it's better controlled. Diabetes is incurable. I ought to know.

  • @AmelieYvette i'm 30. and i had an a1c of 11 when diagnosed. now its at 5. type 2 is curable. and not just treatable.

  • @adrianator2000

Provide me a journal or a reserch article publsihed by medical doctors that supports diabetes can be cured? I'm not talknig about anecdotal evidence or quack alternative therapists studies.

You wont find it. it's manageable and not curable. if you had pre-diabetes for sure you can reverse that. Maybe that's all you had and not full blown diabetes.

  • @AmelieYvette why not. i used to wake up with my blood sugar at 300. now i eat what i want including chips and pasta and tortillas and 2 hours later my blood sugar is down to 110. another hour and it's down to 90. and i wake up with my sugar at 80. so don't tell me it can't be cured, and only managed. i can eat pizza again and everything else with no medication at all. no vitamins or pills or anything else.

  • @adrianator2000

Well maybe you never had it in the first place. Maybe it was only pre-diabetes or severe insulin resistance which can in fact be reversed.

    Diabetres is incurable.

  • @AmelieYvette with an a1c of 11 and now i'm down to 5 and waking up with 80 blood sugar. i think i'm cured. took tons of effort and eating right. but i'm good now. my insulin is working fine now. i read everything i can about how to help my diabetes. and i think when i had a blood sugar level of 500 at times that pretty much meant i was a full blown diabetic type 2. i just ate and i'm peaking at 131. and i had rolled tacos and tostadas. i worked my ass off to get this way. lost 110 lbs

  • @adrianator2000

So you've lost weight and now it's manageable! Put that weight back on again and it'll resurface. Ergo it IS NOT cured, merely controlled.

Have it your way though Dr adrianator LOL

  • @AmelieYvette i can see how i'm not trapped in a disease like you are. and your just upset. i did more than that. i can do anything a non-diabetic can do. so you tell me how that makes me diabetic. i don't manage anything to control it. i do what i want. and eat what i want. i was a bad diabetic. now i'm not at all. sorry your probably trapped with pills and everything else. accept it.

  • @dulosforchrist How'd you get cured?

  • @dulosforchrist Bull Shit! I'm Diabetic and I think that's impossible!

  • @MrAddy15 I have many friends who no longer have diabetes. Everyone of them had candida yeast infections. Simply kill the yeast take a few vitamins drink the right kind of water. 30 days later no need for insulin. You will have to change your diet. I hope you at least consider the truth.

  • Bread, flour, corn, peas, potatoes all of these turn to sugar in the blood.

Stop eating those foods and watch what happens to the sugar in your blood.

There is a sugar substitute not chemical, you can use as a sugar.

With a few minerals and vitamins your diabetes could be a thing of the past.

Remember fake chemical sugars shorten you life.

  • Alright so a couple of years ago my doctor told me I was diabetic.

I never checked my sugar for the last year and a half.

But now I decided to start, and my sugar is never high even after I eat.

    Like never above 150.

Is my doc lying and just trying to get paid off me or what?

    If anyone can answer.

  • did you change your diet?

if you stop eating sugar, corn, flour, bread, potatoes, peas, any kind of food with corn syrup.

your diabetes might go away along with a few vitamins

  • Ya.

I did for about the first year maybe year and a half.

For the past year though, my diet has ALMOST gone back to the way it was before.

I still count calories but I pretty much eat anything, and maybe two meals a week I'll splurge.

I'm thinking that first year and half, really did my body good, and by body has responded.

Maybe my diabetes is temporarily gone. I know it can happen.

  • another symptom is if you have brown marks that looks like dirt on the back of your neck that wont come off

  • im 13 and am 171cm tall and weigh around 62 kilos.

i keep getting pins and needles everyday at least 5 times.

i have spent the last 2 days off school because i feel weak like im going to faint and i have a pretty bad headache.

2 months ago a plant scratched on the side of the leg, it wasnt bleeding at the time. but now it is a scar and it doesnt seem like its going away. i got mossie bites on the 8th march. i had about 15 now there is grey scars everywhere.

what does ya's think i should do?

  • Probably go to the doctor.

    i would.

im worried i have it but done nothing about it cause i dont have enough symptoms . x good luck hope goes well

  • :S oh no

I saw another thing someone mentioned, they said that when they drank soda they went to the toilet pretty soon after, and that their pee would usually be clear, which sounds like me AGAIN :O

  • But dont think life is over and DONT I repeat DONT WAIT FOR A CURE.Your wasting your time when you can be healed by God.

  • I was diagnosed as being t2, with a 128 level after fasting...I have gone through classes and multiple tests, have a meter....I never lost weight but gained. I do have an intollerance for sugar as the meter shows but never lost weight...still gaining...wtf

  • I think it said that type 1 typically loses weight. Type 2 should exercise and try to lose weight - around 5-10% from what I hear.

  • My hands are dry and so are my lips. When i drink soda i tend to have to use the toilet pretty soon, and when i do it's sometimes clear, which means i should be hydrated and have a "clean" system but that doesn't sound right because my hands and lips are dry and soda isn't a very "clean" drink. Otherwise i don't seem to have any other symptoms. (Except i don't know my blood sugar level.) Any one know if that could mean something?

  • P.S. and i have been staying in bed in the morning more than usual.

    Please reply.

  • I drink so much water through the day, My mouth gets completely dry!

I urninate alot through the day, I know thats to do witht he water drinking though.

My vision is Ok, not perfect but its not completely perfect.

I do get drowsy and I do tend to feel like Im going to faint quite often, Ive lost lots of wieght, but that's been through the past year or so, not straight away.

I dont know If I have diabetes, and I dont want to go see the doctors over nothing, any help?

  • Yes you have diabetes.Thats EXACTLY the symptoms I have 5 months ago on 9/28/08 I was diagnosed by diabetes. If you feel drowsy then your level is 400 really bad.Diabetics urinate alot and drink water after.

  • I often urinate several times in the night.

and due to loss of urine I have to drink water.

But I dont feel hungry Several times nor I have blurry vision or excess of fatigue or weight loss. But my urine later froms a soapy material if it is kept stagnant?Do I have Diabetes

  • (zeehtee) yeah, you can, try your best to keep you blood sugar levels at a reasonable level.., 5.8 is what you are aiming for, or as best to under 10.0 your sight can also be effected by the time of the day, for instance, the morning or aftter noon, i know this because i suffer with diabetes and i too have these blurry visions, but thats not to say you have diabetes, your blood sugars can rise even if you are not a diabetic...:)

  • i have type 2 diabetes its hard
