@bad0meify I can't remember, but I do know that little section is actually 2 different guitar parts together (harmony)...one plays a lower sounding part (which I do) and another does higher sounding notes along with it...the one with the higher notes usually stands out more to most, so that's probably why it sounds different.

Anyone else notice that he uses his pinky and first finger for fifths (power chords)? I've seen that in some amateurs, but never with someone of this talent level. Try stretching your hands bro, your skill will TRIPLE. Put those BIG hands to good use.

@dgarrr2 I've learned quite a bit since this (first video after all), and can stretch my hands quite well, I just find it more convenient to use my index and pinky for power chords or octaves. And I don't think anyone else has noticed, since most don't even notice I'm doing something truly insane...like downpicking over 95% of the song (including the solos) hahaha

@xXMetallica4everXx thanks a lot, I usually go to ultimate-guitar (.com) for tabs, just for basic layouts though, I change things here and there quite often to my own liking...for example, parts in the solos I do on different strings and frets in some areas that are different than what's usually tabbed, and the pre-chorus ("sleep my friend and you will see, etc.") I do palm-muted power chords instead of the palm-muted single notes that are normally tabbed.

@XXXM3T4LL1C4XXX thanks very much, no I don't use a noise gate, I think the lack of feedback/unwanted noise is just simply keeping the volume and distortion at reasonable levels...it could also involve the guitar itself (RR1s are well built) since I have an Ibanez 7-string that tends to make unwanted noise quite a bit.

@kingheadbanger Then stop talking and start showing ;) Of course anyone could do better if they did just those two and then stopped, because they only have to worry about doing a 1 minute take as opposed to doing a 6 minute take of the whole song...but seeing how as you've obviously never tried recording anything (zero videos), you wouldn't know. Do a better job of the song as a whole (unaccompanied on top of that), then maybe, MAYBE, you could talk...

@paitheas it's an RR1 Randy Rhoads, pickups are active EMGs (a 60 in the neck and 81 in the bridge) and thanks...amp is a line 6 spider 3 and pedal is a line fbv shortboard

thanks, yeah now that I look back it's a bit crazy that I did that, especially for the solos...but then again down-picking was the only thing that felt natural to me at the time (same with the bending, I was a lot more comfortable with sliding so I did that in place of a lot of bends).

thanks a lot, I was actually thinking of learning and recording that very song, I'm bogged down with a lot of things though so I'm not sure when I'll get to it...I don't think you would have to wait for me though because I'm confident Megadeth would sound good on a Rhoads (especially an RR1 as I have), it's very similar to a King V which Mustaine used (aside from fret count and the shorter lower half) and I believe Friedman had a Rhoads as one of his guitars as well.

You could try ebay, that's probably your best bet...that's actually where I got my RR1 and ESP KH-3 (albeit they were very rare, and I was very lucky/at the right place at the right time)

not always, you have to be cautious, but most of the time they're in good condition, as long as the seller has detailed information and photos from every angle, then you should be alright.
