  • Dumb & negetive. I don't like the dudes judgment calls & imput being put in a children's book.

  • George didn't call the fire department on purpose. It was just an honest mistake.

  • i love this story about george lol

  • Ze man in ze yellow hat should be aware. That typed, have a great evening and/or lovliness.

  • THAT'S NOT WERNER HERZOG YOU LIAR

  • Ich bin neugierige Georg, der Zorn Gottes.

  • "George quickly learns a hard lesson about deisre..."

    Love it!

  • This is absolutely HILARIOUS, great job!

  • And in short order, a monkey has bested seven adult men

Zis should give you a dim view of human potential

  • "Even though he has a big brain and aposable thumbs, he has to know that he will always be seen as inferior by his human counterparts. No amount of effort will change that."

  • The sound effects just push this over the edge into the realm of genius.

  • "Zis should give you a dim view of human potential."

    Best part. Lol

  • @TheNEWfilmfanatic99 Yeah that was great!

  • This is so good. Even in it being a parody I love the dark poetry.

  • Cage match: Grizzly Man v. Curious George

  • these are brilliant

  • vÒll_geîl_sÚcht_mâl_ñÄch:_geldeasy_äüf_gØÓglÉ

  • @BigTonyAD how did you do it?

  • that is a complete riot.

  • Werner Herzog doesnt sound anything like this :/

  • How do you think of this stuff!! I love it! :)

  • Werner Herzog doesn't say 'ze' instead of 'the' and 'vat' instead of 'what', as is assumed by those who try to imitate Germans.

Not very good voice...funny narrative though.

  • Will somebody PLEASE upload a clip of Hezog's appearance on The Simpsons?!

  • lol Kinsky could play George and throw poop at Herzog and then Herzog could make a whole movie about what a pain he was to work with

  • Herzog would love this.

  • "In short order, a monkey has bested seven adult men. This will give you a dim view of human potential."

    LOL

  • brilliant!!!

  • Very possibly the funniest thing I've seen on the internet this year.

  • lol brilliant

  • 'An alien trinket of unimaginable cultural significance' Herzog to a tee. Nice work!

  • Hahaha an "agent of chaos"

  • Georges smoking

  • Georges smoking

  • Ding a ling, ding a ling a ling <3

  • you would probably be honored to hear that Herzog knows about your video and thinks it is cool

go to his website and look at the Rogue Film School video

  • @joet88 Oh my god, I hadn't seen this. Thanks so much for pointing it out to me! Very exciting.

  • "In short order, a monkey has bested seven adult men. This should give you a dim view of human potential..."

    LMFAO!

  • This is terrific. Thanks for this.

  • amazing observations and commentary!

  • This is NOT Werner's voice, it's a very blatant fake.

  • @BadResistors Yeah, it's called a "joke." Not sure if you're aware of the concept.

  • I really got excited and a little puzzled when I saw this until I pushed play thank you for saying it was not really him alot of assholes would not have gone that route

  • How does this ONLY have 172,000 views?

  • brilliant

  • I'd rather hear it read by Klaus Kinski.

  • @zapq3 you should check out his interpretation of "where's waldo"

  • youtube.com/watch?v=QX_n-4lGGkA

    - Brand new Werner Herzog reading of the famous poem 'If' is located at the above link.

  • "This should give you a dim view of human potential"

  • "an obscene, overwhelming jungle"! haha perfect.

  • Goodnight liebschen! ha ha ha!

  • Shit man who knew that monkey could become a lesson on semiotics and philosophy

  • Curious George is actually based on George Herbert Walker (Scherff) "poppy" Bush.

  • can whoever does this please do rudolph next? i've always thought it was suspicious that santa would allow him to be treated so badly, and then be welcomed back into society only after he is useful.

  • whats he say at 3:44-45?

    factzimaly?

  • @jpwn11 nm, he says 'facsimile'

  • Even the fishes longed for something smaller and more manageable than the oceans.

  • 3:01 WHEEEOOOOOOOOO

  • ''In short order, a monkey has bested seven adult men. This should give you a dim view of human potential''

    WaHaHaHA!!

  • ze mouses

  • Absolutely fucking genius! Great parody!

  • bahaha i love werner herzog him reading kids books makes me laugh

  • curious george beats twilight any day of the century

  • This is the best thing ever made. This video is the check and balance against all the other crap on youtube. Bravo, sir.

  • It's not surprising that some would think this was really Herzog - he has such a diverse array of work and has got up to such crazy things, that one can easily imagine that he would do something like this. One can only hope that he gets wind of these videos and does one for real!

  • ha herzog is great

  • I wanted to kick Wener ass within the first 5 seconds I discovered him

  • That part about the firemen being a Laurel and Hardy style duo killed me! XD

  • "finally , and at great public expense" hahaha

  • Fake

    NOT HERZOG,

Herzog's voice has some dignity, not this one

  • @mistervalls

    lol duh it's not Herzog

  • @mccragre05

Ok, now I see "I never thought anyone would think it was"

    hmmm

This never happened, you have no proof...

  • "Restitution is made for the balloons..."

  • This is not a significant YouTube video. It is just fast food remake of a silly tale for accomodated children whose parents wish to restrain the overwhelming malevolence that lies in their very nature

The original monkey, Curious Werner, was a creature of exhilarating perseverance who knew true captivity, talked its way out of death sentence, and was shot twice. If you want to know the full story, come join my 3-day boot camp for soldiers of cinema. And remember to bring $1500 in cash with you.

  • This is absolutely amazing. It has almost ended my own plans for a Werner Herzog parody because it can't possibly top this.

  • This could only be better if it was live action and Klaus Kinski had a role.

  • @ealaspada Maybe Kinski could be the Man in the Yellow Hat, and Nicolas Cage could be the fire chief.

  • @ivand1979 no, alan rickman would be the fire chief

  • absolutely golden

  • Its not Herzog

  • Its not Herzog

  • "And vat does ze fat man get for his troubles?

Nothing but a broken jaw and to be laughed at by mousies."

  • Utter genius!

  • 'agent of chaos' aaahahaha

    gold!

  • Regarding the voice and accent: Not perfect, sure, but certain words and inflections are perfect parody. I laughed out loud at the words "telephone" and "duo" just because of how over-the-top Herzog-ish they sounded. Great voice, great writing.

  • Uh oh. I just started reading Conquest of the Useless and now I'm worried that I'll have the voice of the parody Herzog reading in my mind. Nice job, very funny.

  • This is so brilliant. Go watch "Burden of Dreams" in order to get this. just hilarious

  • Werner Herzog has a Bavarian accent and speaks in a sonorous and measured voice.

  • "As if even the ("ze") fishes longed for some-zing smaller and more managable zan zee oceans" loved it. Great satire on overanalysis.

  • Damien has the right idea...

Your argument over the reader's identity is a not unpleasant diversion but rings most hollow in the face of death.

Oops, I think I got WH mixed up with Confucius.

  • Your reading of Curious George and subsequent humorous gesticulations bring amusement to my heart but also the feeling of an impending futility to existence. -Werner

Hey, that was fun. I should compose all my comments in the voice of Werner Herzog!

  • This is terrific - very clever.

  • Well done satire...maybe Herzog will try this for real...a collection of children's literature read by him along the lines of this current piece or say Fractured Fairytales. Would make a great CD!

  • people actually believe this is Herzog? c'mon, people. let's use our brains.

  • This is NOT Werner Herzog.

  • Sounds German, sure, but doesn't really sound like Herzog.

  • Wonderful and/und wunderbar

  • Best Reply for sure.

  • very funny!

  • No, but RyanIverson could contact Herzog to do an entire children's series like this. If the script is this good, why wouldn't he agree?

  • OF COURSE it's NOT herzog !!!

  • Please, do The Velveteen Rabbit this way!!!! I love Herzog and George! Thanks, for the chuckle!

    XXOO

  • That was great

  • The reader introduces himself as Herzog. Why do you think it is someone else?

  • Because it doesn't sound like Werner Herzog. The writing is spot-on but the voice isn't.

  • excellent

  • PLEASE make more of these.

  • Even a little monkeys lungs seemed safer and more homey..hahaha

  • good video , Herzog himself may suggest that there is not enough depravity in the storyline.......

  • Did he say 'nutty' or 'naughty'? :P

  • "to be laughed at. by mousies."

    laughter! tears! brilliant.

  • dingaling dingalingaling lol

  • I like the writing. Lots of potential for episode 2.

  • Comment removed

  • At times the accent sounds Irish.

  • Nice. No cheap laughs either.

  • Curious George as Kasper Hauser!

  • incredible! as herzog fan, i would like to say thank you. he should see this. very well written.

  • Herzog made a film with the same name in 2008.

  • Herzog directed Bad Lieutenant: Port of Call - New Orleans. Sort of a remake or reimagining of the original based around a similar protagonist

  • haha, way to troll

  • why do I feel like crying at the end.

    WHY!

  • This has been stuck in my head for days. Fake German accent aside, it's a pretty good imitation of Werner. Funny stuff.

    More please!

  • Amazing!

  • hey, great. i had this open on my browser for 2 or 3 days before watching it, and it went from 130 views to 19,736. that's almost a million!

  • I was so i dunno i guess scared.. I dunno why.. But also felt bad that my childhood has now been raped! Dang.. A double whammy! I MUST SAY GOOD SIR YOU BESTED ME ON MY OWN GAME! TRULY WELL DONE OL CHAP!

  • @inpachi123

    Your game is raping children/childhood?

  • This should give you a grim view of human potential.

  • this is brilliant.

  • Funny idea, but you don't sound anything like him.

  • "An alien trinket of unimaginable cultural significance." LMAO!

  • god i have been telling EVERYONE i know to watch this its so funny!

  • Bravo, very funny.

  • that is not werner

  • That fake accent is feeble. It's at least as much French as it is German.

  • Beyond the voice, you've nailed the dialog and idiom of Herzog. The description of the fish coming out George's lungs, just hysterical.

  • That's so morbid! xD

  • ding-a-ling. ding-a-ling-a-ling.

  • ahaha. ^^

  • very clever- somebody pass it on to Herzog- heheh

  • Probably the greatest thing i ever saw.

  • No it wouldn't!

  • You miss the point. Enjoy your lake of fail.

  • I don't think you realize how good this is.

  • This is the most amazingly funny thing I've seen in ages. More, please! Do Babar! Do Madeline!

  • Herzog has to see this.

  • excellent

  • This is effing incredible. Pure Genius.
