ike and his new girlfriend twincult. lmao. i watched this last night but didnt have the sound up all the way so i missed that part. lmao. why couldnt it be twincult and her new boyfriend ike. lmao jk
I was still feeling pretty wiped out when I recorded that rain. I might possibly have started to dip into the 151 too. I don't remember. Either way, I was done for the day.
I had the kitchen fry a slap of dragon burger for me. That was some good eating.
That place looks like a holding tank for a city jail. Yes, I know what those look like!! A couple steel bunks, and your set to be warden. Oh, there are steel bunks!! LOL Living high on the hog? Look for the soup can, you get free calls on it......Great Vlog, fud, I am glad someone decided to do one from the gap. It gets a little old watching the same road after a while...
The room has everything needed for a trip like this. It may be spartan. But it's not too expensive considering the proximity to the really good roads that everyone likes to ride on.
You have seen the monsoons.Nice to see the layout of the resort. Was wondering about a spot to off load a bike from the back of a pickup, mini ramp type of deal.
What do you want to know about it? It exists. There are plenty of people who pose for pictures there too even though there is a sign asking not to block the ramp. It's no mini ramp. A full size pickup can back up to it and roll a bike right off.
YT is good at showing videos. It sucks at everything else. For comments, I would want proper threading. Also I would like the option of saying more than the character count allows.
I have other issues also. I still don't know how to send friend requests. I do not know what they offer. Subscriptions seem to work OK, so I don't get the need for friends. The only people I actually know here to any extent were on LV.
If anyone asks me to write a web app, I will shoot them with a .44 Magnum.
The "friend" feature is YT's way of jumping on the social web bandwagon ;-)
It provides some interesting features but it's mainly designed to make life easier for the completely clueless user. It offers some transparency to what ur 'friends' are doing/watching/commenting/etc. It also allows u to share vids with them more easily. Nothing at all particularly special if u asked me, but u know the kids today - if they don't have hundreds of friends they just don't know what to do with themselves ;)
The easiest way to make friends is to visit their channel & click the "Add as Friend" link, or if they've sent u the request u can either accept thru ur inbox or accept thru a slightly different link (which is in the same spot too) on the person's channel.
I'm not sure I believe you about the dehydration = alcohol/drugs bit. we'll do an experiment, you don't get any water, and I get high and down some tequila and we can compare skills. =p::
Um, after experiencing dehydration, I would prefer to use a stand in. I will concede that I have no experimental evidence for my claim. However, I would recommend avoiding dehydration as much as possible. No joke.
Yeah Fud, ur right - even I have a hard time figuring out the proper order these comments should be in... YT's retarded comment system in action again :-D
That was one of the earliest comments in the thread, I was looking for ur feedback on the whole YT interface & how much it displeases u as a professional ;-)
btw Fud, why don't u just give up the static mount cam & go with a helmet cam for goodness sake. They make motovlogs so much more dynamic & they are getting smaller all the time. Have u looked at the VadoHD/Kodak Zi8 cams with that new form-factor to see how they would work for u. Or how about the P.O.V 1.5 which seems like a reasonable alternative as well.
My helmet is not well suited to a camera. And I don't feel like modifying it or buying another helmet.
I'm also a big fan of the AVCHD format. It's kind of hard to go back to a lower resolution format. True, I have some technical issues with vibration to sort out. But I'm sure they will be solved.
In a few years, I expect AVCHD format will exist in bullet cams or smaller and I may well adapt for that.
gotcha Fud, but u should know that bike mounted cams are orders of magnitude LESS interesting than helmet cam vlogs (even with commentary).
In my experience, unless ur riding thru some spectacular scenery (think the Alps or something), the tank/tail/handlebar cams just end up seeming pretty dull to me. I like those cams when the scenery is fantastic or the action is fantastic (MC racing) otherwise, meh, ppl usually ain't missing much if they skip that stuff imho.
Fair enough. But I am unlikely to alter my style unless I can find a satisfactory way to record an alternate audio track that I can mix in. Otherwise, I will do voice overs when I have something to talk about.
But yeah, just plain rides on ordinary roads are boring. I expect I won't do too many of those for just that reason. I will either do voice over or alternate audio instead. Or maybe music.
DD & Fud - Given the nature of ur professional backgrounds, what are ur thoughts on the overall YT interface & user experience?
Just FYI - I've sorta been stress testing it since starting my channel & I think it suxxxx hard! Just curious what u 2 think tho. BTW, it's 2009 & the problems I'm seeing now, were happening years ago, hence I never cared to have/maintain a channel - I preferred not to be bothered with the craptacular interface :-o *haha* :-D
BTV, in a word, it sucks. wait, thats two words. ;) And yes sir, you are spot on! but youtube has captured a tremendous community, and that is something special and the reason I picked youtube to host my vids. Fud prolly too, right chief?
DD they have indeed captured a huge user-base. But look at what they're doing to the 'community' by throttling the little guys hard. They clearly favor the big $ crowd at everyone else's expense. Seems like it's all about the $ now... maybe they think the 'community' is just too big so they can afford to F ppl over now :-o
I went to Robbinsville with them....I had no idea we had gotten that much or any rain that day....we had great weather but there were a few brief showers here and there.
wash that bike Fud, ahh fuck you, .Love it, just love that biker friendship.

Indeed. If you could just be more precise with the areas and times, you could be a weatherman!

You absolutely do! I would love to get your impression of the dragon vs the nature trail.
I'm pretty sure the dragon is less forgiving.

You should have ridden the cold wet dragon bud.

Great vlog fud, didn't realise it actually rained there when we were out. I hear you about dehydration, it is scary and very real.
