Terfel is interesting. But he's not a very good Giovanni. Too ugly. His features shout - peasant! He should go back to Leporello. It's a better role with better music written by Mozart for his favorite and best singer - Bernucci. I just stumbled across James Morris' Don. He's a better choice as the great lover. Just as good a voice but better on stage.

@bottale How big is he? I used to sing the Commendatore. I'm 6'4" barefoot. But I have some elevator shoes if that's not enough. Basses tend to be big. When I was singing Bartolo last year the Figaro was taller than I am. When I sang Fasolt our Fafner was also taller than me too. Terfel's main problem as the Don is that he's rather ugly. He looks like a peasant not a nobleman. That works in Figaro but not Giovanni.

@Sieglinde84 I think that the appearence is not important if the performer is able to fascinate, to delight. Bryn is the real Don Giovanni, THE seducer par excellence!
