im from pittsburgh and each year i think the pirates will get better well they didnt ive watched most games until a few years ago when i finnaly figured out they werent getting better. im only 12 so if im wrong tell me, and tell me how im wrong but i honestly dont think i am

This is the City of Champions, and before I even consider watching a Pirates game, they need to have a winning season. I thought we held our teams to some kind of standard in this city.

Sorry, I have higher standards than the Pirates. Even when the Steelers have losing seasons they always shake them off within a year or so. I've only followed the hockey team recently, but I know of one or two losing years in the 90s and a couple in this decade.

The Pirates, simply put... Do not belong in the City of Champions and I would not care if they left the city and went to Osh Kosh or Walla Walla or the Seventh level of Hell.

Sure they do. 1909, 1925, 1960, 1971 and 1979...

None of which in my lifetime. The last time they sniffed the playoffs was 1992. I was a four year old.

I have no reason to believe they belong here. Frankly, I don't want them. They're embarrassing and they sure as hell won't be a winner anytime soon.

Now why would I do that. Quite frankly, I think baseball is boring. I could live in New York or Boston and not give a shit.

Now, if the Pirates could win, maybe I'd change my tune on baseball. But I love Pittsburgh too much to just abandon the whole city because the baseball team is a pile of shit lumped together with snot.

I still love the teams that matter. The Steelers, Penguins, Pitt basketball and Pitt football.

I am 14 and have never seen a winning season either but you need to keep faith. You don't have to go to games and you shouldn't because that will keep Nutting from selling the team if you go to games. But you must keep faith. Eventually they will get a player like Jeter or Pujuls and finally start winning some games.
