I remember when the V-MAX first came out, years ago now,but they said in the right hands the MAX could do 9 secs in the 1/4 mile,stock standard,i think that was around 1987 ish!!so thats bloody impresive!!!,i think there is a 1300cc mod on the horizon!!,bring it on!!
they already did back in the 80s. not off the showroom floor but with a slick and i believe a wheelie bar. that's not modified. but then again it was with a jockey and the average rider cant even get a 'busa or zx14 that low.
You are right, a stock vmax won't break into the 9's. An inexperienced rider would have trouble breaking into the 10's. Mine runs mid 10's with many performance mods.
