When you wrote it, you can tweak it. Dylan is notorious for multiple lyric versions of the same song. True though for some artists they are so fried they can't remember but I don't think it's his case.

You don't have to be fried to forget your lyrics. Phil Collins is notorious for getting the lyrics to nearly half his songs wrong whenever he performs live.

However, I saw Stan Ridgway perform this past May and he sang the lyrics in the same order as he does here. I think he decided he likes it better that way.

I love stand ridgway and wov. He is my favorite musician but when I was singing along I noticed the lyrics didn't match. For a second I though I had said it wrong but realized it was stan who said it wrong.
