  • @untoiko

Nah, it's programmable controller. It is said in the beginning. This video is to prove that it is possible to get through Hibachi without dying or bombing once.

  • The true final boss theme reminds me of U.N. Owen Was Her, though.

  • Cheat.

  • wow, were you able to dodge all those those attacks or you are cheating?

  • Hibachi probably all like:

"HOW THE HELL DID I MISS?!"

  • How are you supposed to know how big your hitbox is.

  • @princedavid0 Trial and error?

  • Where can i download the last song? the true boss?

  • wut

  • i can't see the hit box in this game

  • I don't have words to express my reaction. WAY to go!

  • It's name is hibachi, not habachi

  • Once you play Cave shmups, you'll never go back to thinking you're bigger than 2 pixels.

  • @nerrage You sure as hell won't. I played Ketsui Death Label for a week than played Raiden 4......It was a massacre. I got hopelessly and atrociously annihilated. That was I bad scene. If it was televised, it'd be censored and advise viewer discresion. Cave messed me up! 6_9

  • IM HAVING A MOTHER FUCKING ZEISUUUUREEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!!!!

  • he had clearly been hit multiple times and yet he stayed alive

  • @ryanc519 yeah, AR does wonders on games.

  • @GermanZ5 @ryanc519 learn about bullet hell hitboxes before you post

  • @ryanc519 If you would actually read the other comments or have played the game, you would know that you only die if the bullet hits the very center of the ship.

  • @flitzepeng I am fully aware of this rule of hit detection being applicable to other titles as well.

  • i love DoDonPachiR on my iPhone .. Can´t stop to play it XD

  • @SirLordBiowulve Lucky...us poor people have to watch videos of it.

  • @Tormentor

The ship's hit box is in the very center, and is only a couple pixels wide. As long as it doesn't touch that spot, bullets can overlap the ship sprite. In most of these games, it's 1 hit and you lose a life.

  • Um, can anyone please explain to me how exactly the hit detection works in this game? Where is the area that must not be hit, is it death at first hit and so on.

  • Same, that's about how much i did it in, bear that in mind that's pretty shit, cuz you get bombs every time you die which makes it way easier, just to get to this level you need to collect all the golden bees in 3 levels and die no more than 2 times.

  • what the hell, why would you use continues? What a way to ruin the game.

  • 6 continues is pathetic

  • @MrDeebles More like hilarious clueless poster :p

  • すげぇ・・・

  • Epic blind spots toward the middle.. lawl.

  • It looks ok. Just seems like you don't have to move a whole lot. Like there's cheese spots you can park. Other than that it looks decent.

  • You obviously have never played DoDonPachi then.

  • does he have like some sort of a barrier or is he really dodging all that shit?

  • he really is dodging all that

the hitbox is smaller than the actual ship though

    still very impressive :)

  • I love this game but it beats you to the ground every time.

Also I can't read japanese that well but it says something about this player's controller is programmable or something so he's not truly completing this un-aided. Still awesome to watch tho.

  • what difficulty is it? if thats the default setting then christ!, ill think ill stick with playing PC shooters for now (siter skain and X.X games)

  • That's second loop, so I'd say it's default setting with a good RANK boost (in DDP DOJ basically difficulty is counted by a rank that goes up according to key factors such as hyper usage). Ad yeah, it's still bloody difficult.

  • this game takes the piss out of all that tohou nonsense. mushihimesama is insane too.

  • Holy cow.

I'll be stickings with my slower bullets, the Touhou ones. 'Cause this is fast. Very fast.

  • I love the old school shemup, but dont understand these too much where there firing like 1000+ bullets on screen at once it seems like most of the bullets go right through the Ship & not really much dodging I noticed this on a number of vids on here with these type of shemups where the ship did get hit loads of times & didnt die,my favorites are like Pulstar you get hit once & your dead,Simple, although I did like radiant silvergun,

  • the ship didn't get hit simply because the ship has a very tiny collision box, around about 4 pixels wide/tall.

Not to mention the bullets have their own separate hitboxes too. Pulstar is a completely different type of shmup, as is Radiant Silvergun

  • i cant get past level four of this game without at least having to bomb my way to safetey once or twice, and i think it's because I don't know where the hitbox is. where is it located, or where can I find out?

  • It's basically the VERY CENTER of the plane, a tiny 1x2 pixels rectangle just behind the cockpit. Search for "DaiOuJou hitbox" with Google Images, CAVE always releases hitbox diagrams.

  • Like previous posters said, you only get one life, but because the hitbox is small, bullets can touch the sides of the ship.

  • What Eltrotraw said is true. But try actually playing one of these and you will see how quickly you die, hardest games I've ever played.

  • they reward repetition, its a bit like DDR in a way lol you end up learning patterns.

The perfect coin op arcade machine really because people will pump quarters in out of sheer frustration ^_^

  • You noob, richbambam.

Bullet hell shooter ships have small weak points.

How can you NOT understand this when bullet hell shooters have been around for a long time?

  • noob,lol

    typical faggot saying

  • I wouldnt be smoking Mr. BaBa, it's bad for your health.

  • And besides, if you think you know Bullet Hell Shooters better than I do, you would have explicitly mentioned the fact in your comment instead of exposing the fact you do not know much about it.

  • lvl 1 completed ^^

  • It's a bot for sure. Just because human move more, and for example, when a human change position, he had to adjust, here there is no adjustement of the position anyhwhere.

Check on my video you will find the end of dodonpachi daioujou, with a human in command

  • Indeed, this is a programmed stick which I believe was credited to BGR44, at least as I recall.

No human could ever manage the first spread of the hibachi. It's mad. Good clip though.

  • I believe someone did clear the first spread. It is on the Black Label DVD.

  • Good reminder, however Black Label and White/original are not the same. Incidently it doesn't appear to be HFD, the player on the Black Label DVD. Oh well.

  • Very hard game still is very hard though ;o

  • harder than battletoads

  • Small hitbox is small.

  • wish we didn't run out of ammo irl as well

  • bought me a full scope archade stick just for this game

  • I have always loved old shoot'em up games. They bring back good memories. I usually die in the first 2 stages in all these games when I run out of the mega bombs:) Thanks for sharing.

  • OMG This Shooter are so Awesome!!

  • I see that this is a demonstration of how it is possible to beat the challenge without losing lives, or to demonstrate that actually there are patterns among all those bullets for not being hit, but..... it´s tottally insane to think that someone can repeat all those moves accurately and perfectly. I think that this is harder than mushihimesana

  • It isn't. The bullets move faster, but there are larger spaces between them, and they're much more forgiving...

Mushi shoots what is almost a solid wall at you. Mushi Futari I think actually does shoot a solid wall.

  • I´ve just figured out what you mean. And you´re probably right.

I think it´s just my style of play. For me, mushi seems easier, because I can percieve the bullets´ pattern clearly when they´re slow. For this I can´t see the patterns that clearly. Of course, both are really challenging, but I feel more confortable with Mushi

  • Probably you're just not adjusted to fast paced games is all. This gets quite a bit easier onece you're used to it.

  • this is the video with the game done by the programable stick

  • very nice!

  • o.O

  • lol at the thing u fought at the end

  • oh my god! youtube looks different! it looks horrible!! cool video though

  • I am not one to normally quote Paris Hilton but... THAT'S HOT!

  • it's because you're ship is only one pixel big, well ur hit box that is

  • oh! i see that explains it thanks. Still got a thumbs down oh well im not sweatiing over it.

  • yea try moving your ship through millions of bullets flying at you super fast

  • How anyone can micrododge through that volume of fast-moving bullets is beyond me. @_@

  • 143 hit.

  • jesus so much bullet spamming if i was using save-states i'd be reloading about maybe 50 times a second XD

  • Holy banana, Danmaku shooters are so inhuman. I don't believe someone in this world is capable of finishing it perfectly without tools.

  • they didn't in this case, macro controller

  • That is one catchy boss music.

  • Seconded, especially that first form. I had to get it to my PSP and MP3-player.

  • thats mad

  • LOL HIBACHI.

    "That's crazy"

    That's Hibachi.

    DonDonPachi Dai Ou Jou.

Final Boss of the Second Loop

    Mechanical Bee God HIBACHI.

    And that damn fire bee.

    Now play Death Label :)

  • Best comment EVER!

  • danmaku doesnt mean bullet hell by the way, it's "curtain fire" - it even says so in all the Touhou games' starting screens.

  • 弾 dan = bullet

    幕 maku = curtain

  • lol this is a fake. someone edited the movements in a horipad on pc.You can see it in the very first of the video. Also: the last boss is called hibachi not habachi

  • This is tool assisted... it has been known for a while. If I'm not mistaken, that's what the "caution" message is saying.

  • This game's name is "DoDonPachi Dai-Ou-Jou" that is not "DoDonPachi".

The last enemy's name is Hibachi that is not Habachi.

  • Battle Garegga supposedly inspired Dodonpachi to come out. Not sure if it came out before Batsugun, but..

I recommend trying Battle Garegga, Armed Police Batrider or Battle Bakraid if you liked Dodonpachi(I'm not sure if they all have small hitboxes.. I'm sure Bakraid does). They're manic shmups but I don't think they're as bad as a Cave game in terms of crap spewed out at you.

  • "There is no cheats there, DoDonPachi is the only game who get this concept. There's only one pixel who can be hit and there is no shield at all. As we can see, this man is the most player of DDP of the world and seems to be awarded because of his awesome skill."

Every modern manic shooter is like this. And as said before, this particular replay was produced using a programmable stick.

  • "Every modern manic shooter is like this. And as said before, this particular replay was produced using a programmable stick."

Yes, but the DonPachi series was the very first of the manic shmups.

  • Actually, I think Batsugun was the first manic shmup.

  • I say Recca was the first manic, but that's just me.

  • i think the very first cave shump actually is dangun feveron

  • DonPachi was Cave's first shmup. Dangun came out in '98. DonPachi came out in '95.

  • Dangun Feveron sucks, in case anyone was wondering.

  • Wow. Even I have trouble pronouncing this game title! That's ABSOLUTELY NO way to learn Japanese whatsoever.

  • There is no cheats there, DoDonPachi is the only game who get this concept. There's only one pixel who can be hit and there is no shield at all. As we can see, this man is the most player of DDP of the world and seems to be awarded because of his awesome skill. Dont be so jealous about it, i tryed to be just like him but it's very hard... not impossible at all.

  • o_O WOW, I am still wondering though, does the ship have some sort of shield? Still though that game looks crazy

  • manic shooter also known as DANMAKU in jp danmaku means

    BULLET HELL!!!

  • Now I understand why some people call Dodonpachi a "manic" shooter.

    The player is skilled indeed.

  • Actually

this is a Tool assisted run

the guy was using a macro controller

    but still,

being able to beat Hibachi anyway is a mark of true skill

  • Yeah, as the disclaimer states, it uses the PS2 ComaCon, a large macro-enabled controller.

  • Tool assisted.

  • The ship must've had a really small hitbox. Man, this shooter is insane!

  • So insane, it'll even get the most skilled DoDonpachi gamer the headache!

  • That is amazing.

  • OMG HOW DO U KNOW WHERE TO STAND NOT TO GET HIT?
