Faraday is my favorite scientist too, he discovered electro-magnetic phenomenon thats underlying principle of today's motor, transformer or generation. So all of data of internet is in hard disk is run by faraday's principles, awesome. But most of all Faraday was humble and declined knighthood and refused patenting, thats the reason I like him.
heard that music some days ago in the TV ....just jumped up..and thought it was this video ...but it wasn't...now i really am looking for that music...^^
It bothered me that he said he was afraid we would not do science much longer for the sake of science. I hope that we realize soon that greed is destroying the world, and that learning is the most important thing we can do as a species here.
To take that liquid experiment a little further you can put a non newtonian fluid on the speaker and play it different frequencies and it builds some cool sculptures.
I like this video and the series. Some constructive criticism:
This video, and others in the series, starts slowly: the interviewee always says something inane about why they want to talk about the scientist concerned, when any necessary "basic" background info could be overlaid as text. I think it'd be better for them just to jump right in and start talking about the scientist - once the videos get to this stage, they become interesting and even exciting (especially in the case of this one).
great video and talk about Faraday... (but a bite too much use of the word "really" and "realize" - know it difficult when you a "really" liking one subject and want to tell your passion about it)
Excellent episode, and a very nice person to listen to. Not only do we feel his passion, but it is also contagious. I guess I'll be digging into Faraday's biography and work tonight. Thank you so much for another really cool vid.
It's kinda funny when you say to most people scientist they think Einstein little do they know there are so many more that discovered much of what they do in a day to day bassist and they don't even know.
I just want to point out that it was in fact H.C Oersted, a danish physicist who discovered the magnetic field created by a current flowing through a wire.
@FavScientist I would love to see Nicola Tesla. Scientist or engineer, he is still someone i felt like he should be among the great mind in this channel.
he also discovered benzene in 1825

This video would be 20x more amazing if he'd cracked open that Helium behind him.

The background music sounds a lot like the tune to the Angry Video Game Nerd's theme song...
