jjrock5 so what all engine mods do you have on your AWD? With the ecm link v3 your using do you have it setup for stock mas, GM maf or speed density? Do you know what all you have to do to set the ecm link v3 for the speed density setup?

I just watched your vedio on the Magnus review you did i found it interesting, i have the Jim fab race 1G sheet metal intake for my 98 gst 7bolt motor. No offense but i think the Jim Fab but be better i had a freind that use to have the magnus intake street version on his 1G and he blew the welds off of it.
was this a 420a or 4g63 cause my factoy ecu is gone and a e-manage was put in with pigback harness and it went bad car wont run no longer then 5secs and i dont see but 2 plugs u have like 5 plz help
@jjrock5 You mean 97-99 the years change from 95-96 then it goes to 97-99 ecu. The ecu on the later years have a black looking sealed box versus the ano gold metal box cased ecu that can be taken apart with 4 screws on the side. The 1995 ecu is the only 2G turbo ecu that comes with the prom chip which is a high commodity for dsmers looking to socket the ecu for the ecm link chip.
I'm new to DSM and I'm still a little confused about DSMLink, so do I have to swap out the stock ECM to use it (is that what you meant at the end when you said "just PLEASE swap out that stock T25)? Why? Also I found a few sites through Google shopping that sell DSM/ECMLink, all it comes with is the communication cable, a CD, some wires and some odds and ends...is that all I need? Lastly will this get me launch control/2-step?
But dnt you have to socket on the dsmlink chip to the eprom ecu. Or can you just use the factory eprom chip?? I have a 95 eprom looks just like yours(gold and stuff)...I just got rid of my safc to go link...
@Kenuwine24 Yes, you have to socket it first. That piece of paper you see on my gold ECU is the summary page of what I had burned on my chip by DCMLink.
@Kenuwine24 no you can't use the factory chip the dsm link or ecmlink chip is a custom program chip to your specifications of your motor depending what size fuel injectors your using and the type of maf sensor your going with. You could option to go with the GM maf or you could go speed density that eliminates a maf system and runs on 2 sensors or you could stay consertative and use your stock maf box.

i dont think you need to swap the plug wires unless you have a 6 bolt swap... correct me if im wrong, im about to install my eprom in

@1998gst4611 Actually, yes....I had a 1997 Cayenne Red Eclipse GST...check my other vids.
The ECU on '97s are gold colored.
