I dunno man, I dig the old SR-16, I'll check this out, but "bass" on drum machines generally sounds like cheesy ass, like the newer Boss Dr. stuff. It's cool they updated the sounds to higher bit, but I hope they did not muck up the interface, the SR-16 is such a pleasure to use and program.
How easy/hard is this thing to program/sequence? I recently bought the Alesis SR-18 and whilst I've played about with the presets, I've really only used it as a glorified metronome. The bass feature isn't really useful unless it can be sequenced which means the preset bass features are next to useless? I can however see this being a very useful tool if i can figure out how to sequence the dam thing!
I bought one for my son

Too bad for me it's not a drum synthesizer with great DA converters or digital out.
I have an Alesis DM-Pro with a 20-bit 48khz sounds, but it needs the outputs moded because Alesis cut too many corners on it I guess.
24-bit 44.1khz with not so good DA converters is sad. Even Zoom did better with 24-bit 48khz on their RT-323.
When will these companies get a clue and build professional gear!!? WHEN!!!? When we stop kissing their butts!!!
