This is not a true Chicago Dog. Please research your recipe. You've added what doesn't belong and left out what does. A bowser like that would get you capped in the Windy City.
The best part about this video is...he is using wholemeal bread instead of white bread. This kinda cracks me up because the food itself looks so fat but yet he is using wholemeal bread...lol. Well I say good for him because 1. I don't eat bread but if I do eat bread I'd use wholemeal instead of white too.
Jalapeños instead of relish? if it weren't for the jalapeños along with diced onions and tomatoes, that would look more like a mexican style hot dog instead of a chicago style, except that chicago style hot dogs don't use any ketchup while the mexican stlye does. the irony is that mexican style hot dogs only have diced onions and diced tomatoes and NO jalapeños or anything spicy at all! now that's weird isn't it..? LOL anyways i love chicago hot dogs no mater if it's with pickles or jalapeños..
It seems to me you used the jalapenos as a substitute for the sport peppers and the standard relish. I haven't tried this, but it doesn't really seem a suitable substitute. :\
Looks good, John. Have to disagree with the celery salt./seed. Nothing relating to celery, in any form, will ever cross these precious lips. I suggest you try Lowery's Season Salt. It is available in sveral varieties, including Garlic and Herb, Onion and Herb, Chipotle. Way to go on the NO CATSUP! Putting catsup on a hot dog is a sin , just as putting beans in chili is a sin.
What, no mayonnaise???!!!

I'm insulted that he's associating the Chicago dog with that abomination. Not even our gas stations make them that bad.

@petebcoot Thank you for the suggestions, sir. I will certainly try Lowery's at my next opportunity; Chipotle sounds good too.
