  • I dunno which is mi fave Tell Me Lies or Big and Loud lol :)

Perhaps Tell Me Lies is nicer to listen to but Big and Loud is way better to sing XD

  • @DarkWolfDemon1234 I know. This movie is so amazing. It has great voices and some pretty big names. Some people just have no taste.

  • why dont they make movies like this anymore

  • Sawer's voice makes me think of Charlottes voice from Charlottes web, idk why

  • TILLY!!!

  • i can relate...u r so willing to believe in what anyone says to get ur talents, career, and dreams to start....but sometimes they are lies....u wanted to believe in them...but u hear them so often u just can't and...u can't tell the difference anymore and u try to stop listening....even though u know they r lies, u just keep coming....i'll do the same, i just keeping coming.....

  • Man....I want to cry.....I love this song and the movie too when I was a kid...this song reminds me of my past.....its so soothing.....I wish they will make more cartoons like this but I guess there were no more cartoons like this...sigh

  • I loved thsi movie as a kid, I used to sing along, it was adorable :)

  • This movie was so underrated...it's such a good movie...my favorite. Best musical of my child hood, I think.

  • Absolutely Exquisite! :D

  • Ah, such a beautiful voice.

  • i loooved the character of sawyer, kinda reminds me of tiana from princess and the frog

  • @ckent85 I can't see the screen!

  • @SimpleJars

Default setting is 360p. Click on the arrow and select 240p. The video will restart but you will see it.

  • I can't see the video : /

  • @Merstar12 me 2 ;A;

  • Comment removed

  • @Merstar12 change the settings from 360 to 240

  • Cats Don't Dance was one of my favorite movies when i was little.

  • I watched this movie every single day when I was a kid! I prolly still would, but my family no longer owns a vhs.

I remember that when I was a kid, it used to bother me a lot that the cats didn't have whiskers. Am I the only one who noticed?

  • @CripShat27

I noticed but It would look weird if these cats did have whiskers almost would look like a mustache

  • anyone else notice that this is a grey screen? it definatly was NOT when i added it to favorites a year ago. whats up?

  • @domenriono You have to switch the resolution from 320 to 240... Retarded I know.

  • @CelestialStorm24 ah there we go. thanks.

  • Why isn't this a musical yet?

  • @Eccentric0Enigma i know

  • @Eccentric0Enigma Because a lot of people consider what's popular to be the best there is (as far as I can tell, this applies to the current teen generation). A sad truth, but I've met people who consider My Chemical Romance and Lady Gaga the epitome of all music while they burst out laughing when they heard Sinatra or Nat King Cole, telling me to listen to real music.

  • @AuraTheChibiArtist Don't listen to them their assholes. They don't know what music is! Let them be ignorant bastards!!! And don't worry your not alone, their are many who have similar quality taste, you just need to find them!!!

  • This was my least favorite song in the movie the first time I saw it. I guess I was too young to appreciate it back then.

  • I have always freaking loved this movie. I know every word to every song. ANd I love drawing Sawyer and Danny <3

  • am I the only one who seems to have issues viewing any videos concerning Cats Don't Dance? I can hear them but It just shows me a rather choppy grey screen....

  • @assassin705 I'm having those problems too. :-/

  • @assassin705 Change it to 240p and it will fix it

  • @Hefewy Thank you! :3

  • This is just such a powerful song. I tear up every time I hear it or watch the video. They don't make them like they used to.

  • okay i did a major show 4 this in fifth grade in tribute to scott bakula !! my number one crush was danny and i was sawyer and wen i sung this song i was crying while on stage and the parents were starin and some of them started crying 2 !!!! for danny's arrival song me and my crush did a major tap dance !!!

  • I cant see the video :(

  • @animeluverinu Look at cat's don't dance part 6

  • @animeluverinu Try changing from 360p to 240p.

  • I know a lot of people say Sawyer's singin and speaking voice don't fit, but they're gold in my book.

I wish someone would tell me the lie that animation was good like this again. XP

@kelkeil15 and ShadowGurl9321: Try changing the resolution from 360p to 240p. ^^ That helped it work for me!

  • I loved Cats Don't Dance! It was one of my favorite movies as a kid!<333 This is one of my fave songs in the movie!

  • Actually, it received fairly good reviews. It won Best Animated Film over Disney. It just flopped because of poor advertising and it went into theaters alongside The Devil's Own and re-release of Return of the Jedi.

  • I can't see the video. Grrr, best scene in the movie!

  • @kelkel15 I used to be able too.. Now I can't :(

  • lovely song except the refrain :)

  • now this is classic jazz :)

  • what happened to the great music it seems like over time it just faded away and it's just not what it used to be.....time seems to fly by

  • This movie is so emotional and brilliant. I'm 16 and still get choked up every time i see it. Bravo whoever thought of this masterpiece. >^-^<

    -Amanda

  • @19Artemis9 amen to that

  • does ANYBODY know where its possible to get this music? -_-" its one of the best movies, but its soooo rare anymore.

  • @llForbiddenll

You can get it at Amazon.com for about 100 dollars ... I got mine for 68 dollars (new, thankfully).

  • @Mackerni was it vhs or dvd?

  • randy newman is a genius. simple as.

    fabien x

  • @silvergirl95

Duh cux it's Natalie Cole who's singing it! You can't touch this song when she sings it.

  • i always wanted a cat like sawyer, then i learned that cats dont talk. thanks for crushing my dreams mom!!

  • This movie is better than alot of Non-Disney films.

  • @dolphinluv2413 yea you right

  • @x30o0Megara0o0x3 It even beats films from Don Bluth.

  • @dolphinluv2413 Correction... I really like the film.. but seriously.. doesn't beat All Dogs Go To Heaven.. One bit... It outclassed this for sure.

  • @RoadsideMo That means they're both good.

  • @RoadsideMo Nooooooo! All dogs go to heaven goes nowhere NEAR the standard of this movie. I love the numbers sung and the story line is just amazing.

All dogs go to heaven is brilliant but not as good as this.

  • @xprincessivex Your a cat Lover.. kinda clear cut visiblity.. But heres something.. Whether both movies are awesome.. or not. Both face the unfair sacrifice in business competition. ADGTH didn't even get proper views cause of Little Mermaid being released at the same date. XD

  • @RoadsideMo Batman also stole the spotlight.

  • @RoadsideMo The Little Mermaid wasn't released in 1997, it was released it 1989... but i agree its a wonderful movie

  • @Lwilliams95060 Huh..? Dude All Dogs Go To Heaven Was released in 1989 LOL

  • @RoadsideMo All Dogs Go to Heaven was released in 89? I thought it was released later. Huh. Guess you learn something new every day, lol!

  • @ztslovebird You must be confusing it for All Dogs Go To Heaven 2. Thats 1996 XD All Dogs Go To Heaven was released in 1989

  • @RoadsideMo Wow. I REALLY suck at remembering movie dates! I thought the sequal came on in '98. Thanks for correcting me!

  • @ztslovebird It's no problem Imdb is pretty useful on dates in case you don't remember XD

  • This song always reminds me of when I ran the radio board at a PBS station and had to choose from a collection of Jazz and Big Band music. I was totally unfamiliar with that music genre. It was difficult at first, just picking random songs and didn't know good from bad.

But, after working their for awhile, I came to really look forward to it and developed an affinity for it. Natalie Cole was all over my playlist, with her father of course ;)

This movie really deserved(s) more fanfare.

  • This was actually made by Warner Bros.

    Not Disney.

  • I love this song. It's not your average Disney corny "sing-a-long".

  • @yoshi4050 It's only the newest Disney movies that have had the annoyingly sugar-coated songs, but the song IS amazing!

  • O.O

  • is this on dvd?

  • yes :)

  • yes.

  • What genre is this???

  • @VaniKanye I think it's either Jazz or Blues. I can't really tell but I believe it falls into one of those catagories.

  • @creativegirl31 Blues.

  • @creativegirl31 Thank yew!

  • i think either R&B or jazz.

  • @KuteFairytale It's Blues. :3

    Maybe a little Soul.

  • @orientalsunflower I think Nat King Cole's daughter did her voice.

  • @Mysticgamer yes she did... Natalie Cole

  • i used to watch this movie so many times as a kid

  • I loved this movie. And still do. Such a good movie.

  • This song makes me miss my Dad all the more... I can't help but cry as I had a dream to be a singer when I was a little girl... I wonder if anyone would ever see anyone singing from a wheelchair? Life does turn VERY unkind at times.. My heart goes to my feet with this song.. Sometimes I think she is singing about people like me....

  • @chipmunkfanalways :) keep dreaming, keep working at it, you'll get there somehow some way even if it takes forever :)

  • @chipmunkfanalways There have been many greats that had something "wrong" with them. Stevie Wonder played a mean piano and was completely blind. Jerry Garcia was a good guitarist who was missing the tips of most of his fingers on the left hand. If you want to do it badly enough, I think you're perfectly capable, dear, and who cares what anyone tells you? If you've got the drive to succeed and the talent, then follow your dreams.

  • @chipmunkfanalways you can still live your dream even if your in a wheel chair i am a guy and can sing this as highas her and people don't mind

  • @chipmunkfanalways

Plenty of people have probably already told you the same thing, but I think that you should go for it regardless. If you're good enough, you can make it.

As an amateur designer I could actually imagine making a wheelchair stage ready to be a fantastic task.

And it's not like the stage is the only place you can live off of singing. We don't see the vocal here do we? So even if the stage snobs don't like you, you still might end up creating childhood-making songs like this.

  • i LUV this movie i thought me and my sisters were the only ones who saw it cuz no one at my skool has seen this movie

  • ;_; First time I saw this as a child I got extremely sentimental. xD

  • looking back this really as a great kids movie WITH an actually likable soundtrack. I this this movie was under appreciated in it's time.

Now we get madagascar...and movies like Hoodwinked...ugh *shudders*

  • Hoodwinked was actually pretty good. Unpredictable, certainly.

  • i liked hoodwinked myself, not an old clasic that's for sure but still entertaining and with some nice jokes. the squirel dude was just plain out hilarious

  • @SetsunaXSunrise I agree this was very underrated. I still own the VHS and watch it from time to time, because the music was very good and the movie was enjoyable. Good times, good times...

  • i used to have the VHS. i used to watch it at my grandmas house. My mom sold it without tellin me. Now i just got it on DVD. I love this movie

  • i so wish i could download this soundtrack. amazon has this soundtrack for $83

  • flying; I got a copy on ebay. Fone.

  • This my favorite song that Sawyer sang in the movie. I also like when they all sang "Nothing Gonna Stop Us Now!"

  • Oh, God, it's one of my favourite cartoons! This song... And an other music from this movie... Danny and company - they forever will remain in my heart!

  • me too. this movie was just as great as the classic disney movies

  • Good movie, kinda makes me think to her drug OD back in what I think was 1983? I could be wrong. I mean Natalie Cole, not Sawyer. :D

  • drugs? wow

  • i love this movie and this song

  • A beautiful voice she's got.

  • Cats don't dance was and is a brilliant film! Movie Gold! I love this song... I love all the songs in this film but this is my Favorite, but that's probably just because Sawyer sings it xD Gotta love her

  • I prefore Danny, i think the first song Dannys first song he sang was the best and Nothings gonna stop us now

  • Danny is awesome too of course :)

  • @silvergirl95 You also gotta love Danny. >U< But yes, this is one of my favorite songs.

  • I love this song, so very much.

This movie was always heartwarming... I've only seen it about four times in my life... I wish we had it so I didn't have to freak out and figure out when it's on tv!

  • one of if not the most underrated movies of all time. it was my favorite growin up

  • mine too! and none of my classmates seemed to even had heard about it :| it was so frustrating! i thank god for youtube!

  • @puth0420 same here!

  • @puth0420

i luv this movie!:D its an awesome classic!X3

  • @puth0420 At the time it was competing with Disney's Hercules.

  • @puth0420 I totally agree I totally loved this movie also...

  • Too bad they don't put out more movies like this.

  • I just saw her live tonight. Great voice

  • Still gives me chills. Beautiful.

  • My choir class is trying to decide what they want to do for a musical this year. If we could find it, I would SOOOO vote for THIS as our performance. I love cats dont dance.

  • If ANYONE can get me the sheet music to this, I would be the happiest girl in the world. :)

  • @MollyOmigosh SSAAAME!

  • Same here, except for the fact that I'm a guy. LOL

  • When I was kid, it didn't make a damn difference who was singing.

  • Anyone know where I can get the soundtrack for the movie?

  • soundtrack is hard to find and really expensive. Go for the movie. THAT I found in a grocery store discount bin.

  • @Locuravamp Aww that's sad cause the movie's awesome :) But better for us! It's affordable to share laughs & entertainment...oh and DANNY is awesome!<3

  • This song is full of emotion and imaginativeness. You hardly ever see that in movies made nowadays.

  • such an awesome song I have to sing with it

  • What genre of music would this be considered ? Jazz? Or no...

  • Hmm... I don't really kow either... Maybe easy listening?

  • A combo of jazz and blues, I'd say. Very appropriate for the 30s.

  • This song and scene always makes me cry! No Joke!

  • i love this song alot...

  • what's the point? IT suits the character alot and it doesn't matter what race the singer is.

  • The hell does the color of the cat have ANYTHING to do with either the song or its impact?

  • @Shenorai

LOL! white cat, black/white (mixed) voice actress AND a black singer. Not that race matters... ESPECIALLY when you are giving a voice to a thing made of pencil, ink and paint. >>

First off... the voice actress is not colored ink black like a black cat.

Second... do you HONESTLY think animals/cats give a rat's behind what color their fur just happens to be? Thank GOD animals USUALLY dont judge by fur color. Sometimes they do, but it is NOWHERE near the degree of humans.

  • i like this song what moive is this

  • cats dont dance

  • I love this song.

It is SO hard to find this soundtrack or even this song ANYWHERE. ):

  • i have this song plus a few others from CDD in mp3 format if you would like them

  • Where do you get the Cats Don't Dance mp3s? Do you have the soundtrack? I'd like them if possible. =)

  • @r0q

The internet. I found them in the 4chan rapidshare repository.

  • Not to say Natalie Cole didn't sing lovely as Sawyer, the problem is that Sawyer's talking and singing voices don't even sound similar. Personally, I would have recast the singing voice because the talking one fit her too perfectly. This one's a little too jazzy/soulful.

  • it's two people who play sawyer too. one to talk and one to sing, they did that with all characters

  • Well, that's because they recast the speaking role a few times and by that time, they just decided to keep it.

  • I agree. It's really obvious in the ending song. They need the singer to sound more rough around the edges since her talking voice was like that.

  • i didnt plan on having to change the voice actress. They changed it at the last minute after they had already done all the songs. It's unfortunate, but the song is still wonderful

  • This is one of those songs that I just close my eyes when I hear it...just lovely.

  • SAWYER!

  • I sing to this every time I hear it. :)

  • Natalie Cole as singer, and the regular voice actor is Jasmine Guy. It's on IMBD.

  • I think it's Natalie Cole ; )

  • this is such a beautiful song i did a cover of it but its not even half as good as this. Does anyone know if the girl who actually did her voice in the film sings the songs as well? Cuz they sound like 2 totally different people

  • Yea, it is two different people :)

  • i knew it! :) hahaha thanks

  • to aneyleos2007: oh wow. and your page is awesome
