  • To the viewers: Please don't ask question aimed at the poster of this video, SpindleRecords, as Marc Bird, founder and poster, Passed away Jan 6, 2009. I am currently downloading the video's just in case something happens to this channel. His computer with almost everything on it crashed a week after I hooked it back up. Guess not using it for a year while I sold our house and looked for a new one wasn't good for it. I can't get on his page cuz IDK his password. Gonna put on mine.

  • "just cause her got them skinny legs!" LMAO!!! hahaha

  • lOve this! ^_^ it makes me feel happy and all! haha <3

  • the great Joe Tex....

  • brother had some slick dance moves

  • joe is fantastic, number one on the soul

  • This is some intense Americana. He's really into it. I wonder if performers from this time got all wasted before they did their shows.

  • LMFAO

  • brill mags

  • thanks blu superr

  • Superb!!!

  • Brilliant Mags. Superb footage. Many thanks for sharing.

  • i might take her, how big are her tits? LEROY!!!

  • Oh how I remember this song.

  • My brothers and I used to laugh at this

song when we were kids in the sixties.

    What memories.

  • I won the SKINNY LEGS AND ALL contest in Columbus, Georgia at the Municipal Auditorium at the age of 15 years old! I won a barrel of KFC! I knew I had the skinniest legs. Other females got up there just to be there. When Joe pointed to me, the audience rolled!

  • Joe Tex is the most underrated soul singer in history. I LOVE everything he did!!! Hold What You've Got. Damn straight!

  • You're a right. James Brown got many of his moves from Joe. He left us too young, just 49years old.

  • ..Also Michael Jackson is usually credited with dancing from James, but he was just as influenced from the great Joe Tex.

  • lol - shut up fool - ya know i don't want no woman with skinny legs

  • Love it,had to hear Skinny Legs. The bar band was playing Show Me A Man by Joe.Joe was so fun.

  • Who is the woman with the skinny legs? Me! Who is the man with the raggedy clothes? My husband! We are not ashamed to be seen together in public.

  • ROCKIN '67! Keep on walkin baby! Dont yu worry about a thing at all! FANTASTIC! Even a little bit about the guy with the raggedy clothes. THANKS!

  • where da white women at

  • having babies for black nfl/nba ball players. where else?

  • Ignoramus.

  • people dont know but joe tex was a big inspiration 2 michael jackson when he was a child

  • Great bass line, infectious tune, humorous approach, it doesn't get much better than this!

  • Saw him perform at the New York Apollo theater in the 60's. It was the year of the Hot Pants, he asked women who had skinny legs to come up on the stage and show their skinny legs. It was funny as all hell, but it was all in fun.

  • Oh man that sounds awesome!

  • This song came out in late 1967.

  • obbillan l'antenato di joetex

  • you don't say????

  • Sigh. You're probably just kidding ... but it's sad to hear mean-spirited labeling when the song itself is about tolerance and acceptance!

... Wow, does that ever make me sound PC! (Sorry about that) But anyhow, just sayin' ...

  • Not mean-spirited at all.

Like I said look at that nigga dance!!!

Perhaps I should have said that nigga sure can dance! Everyone needs to get over a word.

Its just a word. The big N word. The R word

    The C word.

    Its getting old.

  • I hear ya, and I ain't trippin' (I figured you meant it affectionately, since you used the -a form). Also, didn't mean to imply you were being mean-spirited.

But I can tell you how others may misinterpret words on a global internet page ... picture an Asian kid, after being punched for being the wrong color to use a word: "I thought it was OK! I read it on youtube ...!")

Anyhow, Joe Tex was great! You liked his dancing; I enjoy the warmth and humanity of his stage presence - the man had soul!

  • Its all good!!!!

    affectionately yes I love it!!!

  • "Don't You Worry About a Dog Gone Thing At All."

  • When I was "ON THE AIR" at W.I.S.E. RADIO in ASHEVILLE,N.C. I couldn't play this enuff for the listeners. Especially the crowd from THE KITTY KAT CLUB themojoman dot com

  • hot damn. glad i found this. Thanks Spindle Records!

  • every song joe tex sings is pure common sense with a comical twist. if more YOUNG PEOPLE (and i can call y'all young 'cuz i am 36) would listen to lyrics on ANY joe tex song you can learn som'n and be entertained to the fullest at the same time! i have ALL of his music.

  • I have so much to thank Joe Tex for, the line "I don't want no woman with no skinny legs an all" has stood me in good stead for years, mainly when the fat/thin debate rages

  • Thanks for sharing. Love that air guitar second.

  • DIS MY MA'S SHIT

  • MF Doom Said "...And won't take the one with no skinny legs like Joe Tex" on Accordion

  • doom is always bigging up the pioneers of music on his songs. listen to a lot of his production-the dude knows the crates quite well.

  • This song ALWAYS gets me high. Joe has the perfect blend of hilarity and soul. "Man just forgot to get his suit out the cleaners. That's all."

  • This is great!

  • I showed my mom how to Youtube and now she is addicted. She got a thrill out of watching this old Joe Tex.

  • My mum used to play this song ALL the time!!! I love it cuz I've got skinny legs- but my boyfriend has no complaints! He's a leg man and he makes sure that they're lotioned up just right after my bath ;)

  • I'am a italian fan of the great Joe Tex, thanks for thes video.

  • Just my 2 cents worth on here, i used to live in Navasota, Texas where Joe lived. I was a police officer there for several years and hear all the stories about him. My wife gave Joe a ride home one night right before his death. He asked her for a lift to his home and she had no clue who he was. Tragic death, he staggered (yes, he was intoxicated) out to a small pond close to his house, fell in and drowned. Very very tragic

  • @Cadflyer all reports say that Joe died of a heart attack......

  • @d820m

You info is incorrect! He drowned in the pond next to his house, I WAS THERE! I cannot help what the reports say, I was there and i worked for the Police Dept. that did the investigation.

  • his voice sounds just like stevie wonder's.

  • shit, i meant james brown. god I'm racist. haha

  • Nope, James Brown sounded like him. They hated each other... in fact James even took several shots at him. True story.

  • When you say shots,do you mean punches or gun shots?

  • GUN SHOTS! Jame brown sot at him..of course he missed. This is very true.

  • he got it.

  • Thanks for supplying this! God Bless YOU! Ive been a fan of his since age 10. Sadly, I was only 2 years old when he left this earth in 1982.

  • Bad ass stuff. I never noticed the harmonica that comes in the song begining @ the 1:00 mark when I was younger ! Really cool stuff, thanks for posting it !

  • boy could joe dance

  • 1967

  • 1967

  • loved joe tex! i hope that he's from texas, cause that's my state. also loved 'show me'.

  • can't beat the tex! great song

  • yeah the air guitar was even cool!

  • Joe Tex was a baaaaaaaad man. And yes "Skinny Legs" is FUNNY! I think this is where Joe got that idea to say "SAY LEROY!" He brought "Leroy" back on "Ain't Gonna Bump No More (With No Big Fat Woman)", lol.

  • early rap lol :X

  • too bad that rap came along--it sucks big time and it is a shame that it takes absolutely no talent to "sing"(?) rap, just alot of noise and bad attitude. Lets bring back the real talent!

  • lets see you post up a video of you rapping buddy.

please do not insult a genre of music you obviously know nothing about, especially when some people (such as myself) take it very seriously and hate it when ignorance causes people to generalize (due to the unfortunate prominence of "ringtone rap" that dominates the mainstream) and insult it as if it wasn't art.

  • word! there are many ill rap artists out there, but some people judge a whole music genre, cause they only now some rap-bullshit from the radio.

  • exactly!

  • @idoletc a lot of people consider him the first rapper......

  • @d820m NIPPSY RUSSELL and JOE.

  • gotta love it at 1:50 made me bust up

  • Thanks for sharing SpindleRecords. I always get a laugh listening to this song. I have the opposite of skinny legs so this is funny.
