Good video, but it failed to discuss Mithraic initiation levels which Christianity does not have, nor Mithra's tolerance of other Pagan Gods (ie.. you could worship any other God, but Mithras was above all, whereas Christainity is intolerant and all other Gods are false and worshippers heratics!). Christianity won out, because Emperor Constantine made it the state religion (in semetic tradition, he then ruled by "divine right" ... it was a good move on his part, making him untouchable).

i heard, that the book by, i think- gerald massey, on the comparison of christ and pagen religion, was not accurate, that in fact, the comparison had vague similarities as oppossed to exact similarities.
i don t know if this is true, i did not read it.

The prayer that they do to Mithras sounds like a prayer in the Rig Vedas ( Hindu scriptures), to he diety Indra. Also, in the Rig Vedas it is mentioned that Humanity came from the "Cosmic Egg". So similar.

@wiccandrummer Looks like you didn't do much research yourself.Considering that December 25th is around the time of the winter solistice, which is the reason why Christmas is celebrated then, so that northern "pagans" would not lose one of their favorite holidays by converting. Jesus(Mithras originally) was born in spring, not winter.

@jefeisdguard To be honest, I made that confession, and lived in a state of ultimate happiness for two weeks with what I then suposed was Jesus, but then I had a big argue with someone in my church about the hell issue. Acording to my perception of what he said (I may have been misstaken) he basically meant that buddhists, hindus etc etc deserved hell cause they are following demonic teachings. Now, I basically was a buddhist before, and many of my family members are, so that made me really mad

There are many people alive & dead that didn’t know Jesus. Many that may die B4 they hear of his name never had the opportunity to learn of gifts offered by believing. There4 they’d be judged according to works & not faith. But they’d also be judged according to how they judged others.
No one knows what happens to a man & God at the moment of death. Mans outlook can change quickly.

@jefeisdguard The thing you don't realise is that I was the only one in my family who was a christian, sure my mum was one too when she was a child, but most of the people I know and love aren't christians, but they are really good people, and I love them. But saying they would burn for ever for not believing makes me really sad and angry. If it weren't for the hell thing, I would love to be a christian, or if I could pray that my family would enter heaven..... But yes, I have felt Jesus. :)
