ok...how exactly is the "r" supposed to be pronounced in Esperanto? I've heard it pronounced the English way, the Spanish/Italian way, and now the French way...
Shouldn't this be "Mi havas du jarojn" or perhaps "Mi agxas du jarojn"? Or am I totally off? It almost seems to me as if you are saying "I am two years" as though you are a unit of time.
Man, this is like a collection of experiences. As going along the video, I started finishing off things like age numbers. I just learn them because of my native Icelandic, English and Norwegian and experiences with Spanish, Latin and German. I think I'll learn Esperanto for the kick of it. Seems interesting.
And I don't think it sounds artificial. What is so artificial about it besides it being so young? Languages have to start somewhere right?
You are right, Esperanto is a language like any other, it just has a shorter history and is easier to learn than many other languages because it has no irregular verbs, etc.
this has the most ANNOYING voice in it on earth but as long i learn esparanto i can stand it plus anybody know a country were alot of its inhabitnats speak it because this is a made up language
P0dDels, you're an IDIOT. The idea of Esperanto is not to become a major world language or to replace English and etc. It's goal is to become a common SECOND easily learned language to allow for easy communication between cultures. Look up what you're talking about before making yourself look like an utter retard.
P0dDels, you're an idiot for spreading around false information. You're an idiot for assuming it was supposed to be a world-language and replace English. Also, it is not supposed to be spoken just in Europe, that is just where the majority of the millions of speakers live.
there are plenty of flaws with esperanto, to be sure. However, that does not stop it from being very easy to learn and interesting for those that wish to study languages.
you are false in your assumption that English is a world language. It is not simple enough to be one, even if it is spoken in many locations. Also, it has ties to a select few countries because it is their native language. These ties are problematic. If you don't see why I would suggest you do a bit of research.
-National languages are difficult to learn. A native speaker and a non-native speaker will not be on equal ground. Some may not even adequately learn the language after years of study. (Ever take a high school language? Do you still remember and use it?)
-Minority languages and their speakers will suffer. The speakers may be forced to give up their traditional language. This seeds resentment and can further the demise of cultures.
@P0dDels Not everyone understands English, it's just the most common language. It makes no sense to force those who do not speak English to have to learn such a difficult language just to be able to communicate with foreign people. If all children were taught Esperanto alongside their home language, everyone could communicate with everyone, and the world would be a less divided place. Open your mind a little bit, you sound like a panicking fool!

My feeble knowledge, yet still some knowledge, of many other languages has made Esperanto much easier, and it is already easy :D

Esperanto would be so much easier if they did 3 things.
1 (the biggest one) would be to take out the fact that you can put the words in any order and put an n at the end of the dominant noun.
2 would be to get rid of the ĥ and use something else for everywhere it is. I can pronounce it but not easily in a sentence.
4 is words like bubalo (buffalo), should be bufalo as all romance languages also have the f instead of the b.
The first one is the only thing stopping me from being fluent in it

It's a really stupid idea to think that Esperanto could be a "world-language". It would never replace English from its position.
Even speaking it just in Europe would be senseless. Just think how inviting of a completely new language would work. It defenitely won't!

I like it when you're troubelling. Why so angry?

Nice way you talk ;)
It's just senseless to found a new language for people all over the world if they already have English, isn't it?
Why a second language? It's not necessary...
Esperanto is a planned language...

English is incredibly hard to learn - as opposed to Esperanto. In fact, your English is completely off.

Tio estas grava, ĉar via celo estas instrui infanojn...
Sed via iniciato estas bonega kaj oportuna!
Mia kritiko estas konstrua, ĉu bone? ;-)
moisesbr2007 3 years ago
Vi pravas, Moisesbr. La instruisto devas shanghi la prononcon de r. Ghi estas alveolara, ne uvula.
