Kind of amazing how realistic the thumbnail looks. The smile is odd indeed, of course. The mouth itself behaves like it should but the rest of the face remains static, resulting in a fake look. Interesting. It is relatively easy to model the body and texture such a large surface, making it look good. Animating it takes more effort but results in good looks as well. But the face is impossibly hard to get right. There is so much detail because our brains are so focussed on reading from the face.

С Daz 3D ще ти е по-лесно и бързо да се научиш, защото там хората са готови и интерфейса е много по-лесен, но винаги ще си ограничен в рамките на програмата и няма да можеш да интегрираш в професионални проекти.

@gofre1: Thanks. Well... yes, I started from scratch. These days I learned almost all by my own, but now it's full of online tutorials and information. I recommend the "Bible" book for beginners, then the 3dtotal web site's tutorial section. They have really good stuff there :)

@guriyahoo You already know that it's not actually 3dsMax, doing the quality work. It's the talent. The rest is just segments and vertices so you can create quality model in any program capable of creating vertices. :)

@guriyahoo: This video is Max + Brasil r/s. But all my newer videos I made with only 3ds max using the inTegrated Mental Ray. But to answer your question, of cource you can do everything with Max! Autodesk products are the best out there. The best movie ever created (Avatar) is done in Autodesk's software. Maya is great for movies, while Max is better for architecture :)))

@motavision: That's a great PC. I use something simmilar, but with Intel QUAD core. Anyway. This clips here, I made with 1.7Ghz AMD single CPU, 1Gb ram and nVidia 5900. One thing I know for sure. When you have poor PC, you need to think more on how to optimize the process, and set the possible errors to a minimum. So It's not always the best to have the latest configuratuon. But your choice is really good! Better than my current work station.

Hiya, very very nice animation! Can you provide some insights of how to animate the hair? I assume you used polygonal hair instead of hair n fur modifier, so how did you make the hair attached to the skull at the root and still animate it so it collides with the face?

@Simon984: Thanks! It was so long ago... I did it in a 1.8Ghz single CPU, using Brasil R/S. The render wasn't too heavy, and the scenes were short, so I think no more than 2-3 days :)

@PLAlfa: Vray is developed in my country, Bulgaria, and I can't say bad thing for it. It's a really powerfull render, and leads mainly in architecture and visualization. But it's really an artist's choice. This guy: "Liam Kemp" uses brasil, I use now the integrated MentalRay, and I'm pretty happy with it. You can try Vray if you want, it has the best online tutorials from them all :)))

You're right, a good animator can do some miracles :))) This model has around 9000 polygons with teeth, no cloth.
