  • Nice vid

  • Problem... You do not have enough defenders regardless of the amount of preps you have made. As for exposure, it will depend on where you placed your home, how far off the road it is- why kind of road that it was and how up kept the property is. The deer stand approach of the forward position just makes a fine target. The issues with field phones is that once the wire is found it can be traced and cut. Anything that makes sound will be the loudest noise and will expose you.

  • Not all Americans you fuck. We laugh at these i idiots too.

  • wow americans are so retarded

  • @MrKronikx lol you say that now, wait until your muslambs take over your country and start lopping off your heads.

  • @doinworksonnnnn are you the retarded chief?

  • @MrKronikx Oh wow...you are so witty. i bet you make you donkey fucking parents proud.

  • @doinworksonnnnn umad? u seem mad? yumad?

  • @doinworksonnnnn Im sure my parents are proud of having 3 sons that are richer than them, i bet your parents would like to see the same from you

  • and what do the poor do to prepare?

  • @grayt76 Stop eating fast food. Stop wasting foodstamps/EBT cards on junk food, soda, alcohol and cigarettes. Stop buying heavily processed crap (which means needing to become more label-smart and understand what things mean).

Learn to cook and make your own meals out of simple ingredients that are few in number. Learn to can and preserve food. Stockpile staples such as flour, sugar, beans, pasta and most importantly, water.

Some preppers are nutso with their plans, but you don't have to be.

  • @gymkhanadog I don't get food stamps, drink, smoke, or am I stupid or ignorant. Asshole.

  • @kreynolds1024 Nor did I say you did or were, so please kindly put your "Calm the fuck down" shoes on and act like an adult.

Though you didn't defend eating fast food or buying heavily processed foods, junk food or soda when you decided to exercise your 5 minutes if "lets be rude" for the day. I guess we all have some room for improvement, hmm?

  • why no cover over the generators ?

  • I love how self sufficient the set up is but why put ur face and property on tv....secondly try and live a little enjoy life while u can it shtf does occur we will no longer relax enjoy hobbies we simply survive

  • Wow he is the best I've seen

  • There horders

  • They really don't need to change anything wth does national geographic think they know about it anymore than these two families do? Please I would like to see these "experts" and see how they handle a wrol and shtf situation...

  • Awesome wish I was that prepared

  • THESE PEOPLE ARE CRAZY

  • They spend money to prepare for the economic collapse.

I create an army and storm their stronghold while enjoying the idea of being able to put my kids through college.

  • That's alot more then 6 to 7 thousand in food supplies.

  • @omegapax1 Buying in bulk can drastically cut costs d00d.

  • completely agree with them! both great channels also!

  • Amazing ideas, thanks for sharing you knowledge and skils.. You guys right on the money and PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE do not pay any attention to the negative feedbacks those are the pele that are just plain ignorant and in denial because they're to scared to fing out and accept the truth!! God bless u all and may our creator continue to enlighten your path with wisdom, unity and love

  • So much for OPSEC, I'd rather have 1/2 of what these people have and not have anyone know about it. Surprised people like this go on national tv.

  • Wow. Their use of alternative energy is really cool. Even though I think their fears are unfounded they have really come up with some cool ideas. I would love to run my car on wood gas!

  • There is nothing wrong with being self-sufficient, but to be so fearful of not being or deceased …they seem to forget living.

  • you would think all that praying would prevent a disaster

  • @RedUnbannable All the praying?? Tell that to Obama. He has done away with the National Day of Prayer. Like Ronald Reagan said, ""when the day comes that we are no longer "One Nation Under God", we are a nation gone under"" And of course, the "politically correct" crowd of libtards want us ALL to no longer say "under God" in the pledge of allegience. When we ignore God, He ignores us. We have no one to blame but ourselves. We currently have the government that the people voted for.

  • Anyone who thinks theyre crazy or paranoid obviously has no clue what life is like outside of their mother's basement, and clearly hasnt watched the news anytime recently.

  • what will they do when their resources finally run out?

  • @EjPwned That the point....the resources won't run out because they will simply harvest more. They have a sustainable food supply..by growing crops, canning and dehydrating those foods, as well as livestock and 3 sources of water. Keep in mind, it rains now and again. The animals can be bred. What do you think they do on a farm?? And I guarantee that David is a reloader, so as long as he has stocked plenty of powder and bullets, they will be able to defend their homestead for many years

  • When is it going to be televised?

  • I wish i had the resources to be able to do what you have done, but unfortunately i do not have the money or space to build up my weapon, food, or fuel stores as of now.

  • The retreat group situation is exactly what we are trying to set up in Oregon. Get some like minded people together who can work the land, shoot together, and prep together. Prepper communities are the way to go.

  • oh this is sooo cool

  • if you have not read patriots please do. this is real life version of the book.

  • Be careful with all this attention.. definitely kudos though! congrats!

  • @WAbackpacker86

First learn our Native History First prior to coming to the Table, However Nothing is Owed to Us but we still will and have shared to and with You, That being said will you still will Hoard your worldly possessions to those less fortunate?

  • This film is not that old and the debt clock in the background at 7:26 is 11 trillion 799 billion.

Today the debt clock is over 15 trillion 200 billion.

It want be that much longer I don't think before something really big goes down.

    God help us!!

  • I love that bicycle idea! What a great way to maintain exercise!

  • a real man tells it like it is, even when its disagreein with the experts on live national tv...

    LIKE A BOSS

  • not agreeing with the "experts" LIKE A BOSS!

  • @SlimeyBastardVG2 In the new Doomsday Prepper episodes that start airing soon (Feb 2012) they are working for Nat Geo as the unseen experts replacing the original guy(s) lol.

  • I've seen this vid before and watched the whole thing several times, but this time I couldn't help but notice one thing.... How badass does Dave's son look when he's firing the AR15! The kid's obviously had some good training.

  • OMG the people who are running the show are telling you what your doing wrong and you react defensively, don't be so stubborn, take the advice

  • @Fadsmashers do the experts have a plan as thought out and ready as them? no. so that expert can shove it up his ass

  • Logic- prepare for the inevitable.

    Nieve- nothing will ever happen.

How do you want your family and friends to know you as? I would rather my family know I did everything I could. Rather than buy a flat screen...

  • The alarms are pretty loud! They have the same ones at Dollar Tree for a buck! Such a great idea and they work great!

  • all fucking bull-shit!!! if you were truly serious about "prepping" the first thing you would do is get the fuck out of that shit-hole of a country the USA fuck these morons are deluded

  • @woo081

I would rather stay in this "shit-hole" then leave it, if you dont like it then get your fucking ass out. Seriously, go, get, no one wants you here.

  • Some people never heard of Sharing, they are the babylon.

  • @damiangt are you sharing with others your money and efforts to prepare ? since not, you don't deserve food to be shared with you! you are an unproductive, useless bread-eater. "If any would not work, neither should he eat" Thessalonians 3. 8

You are "the Babylonian" not the ones who "keep on watching, because we don't know the day or the hour".

  • @Armando7654

Asking another Man a Question and Answering it for him in the same line is the judgemental Ideology that what part and is Babylons state of mind, expressed and Shown

  • @damiangt is that English or Babylonian?

  • @damiangt These people or most of them here are freak crazy as loon selfish paranoid delusional evil brainwashed I don't think they are human anymore, maybe they were never human to begin with...Who knows...Yikes! I feel like I stumbled into the YT portal of hell and hell bi-products, whoops, time to retreat...They are scarey people, the commentators, I have not even finished the show, don't plan to either. The world they want to create is hell!

  • @grangersmith

    Im with you Brother!

  • These two get my vote for being some of the most interesting providers of content regarding SHTF. I might also suggest that you see the Anti-Terrorist's channel and specifically his video on the Larder of Last Resort. Don't let the mask throw you off.

  • Won't live in fear eh? Their entire lives are based on fear. I do however really really like the wood burning truck, very clever. Personally, I prepare for stuff that is really gonna happen, like storms that knock out the power for a week, that I'm ready for. It'll be a cold day in hell before I'm setting trip wires for an enemy that will never arrive........

  • @JimsEquipmentShed

you know, you can ask the people about this yourself, they are very nice individuals. Im somewhat of a prepper myself, and yet I don't live in fear, i just know for a fact this could get worse, I hope it doesn't, but if it does, i will be prepared.

  • @TheDuvalMilitia I like the idea of being prepared, but trip wires are a bit much for me on a day to day basis. When I was in the military I learned how do do all of those fun things, but in the twenty plus years since I've been out I've never had an occasion that required that skillset. WTSHTF is something that I never prepare for, because it will not happen. At least not in my lifetime. I prepare for power outtages, that happens here all of the time. Skirmishes, not so much.

  • @JimsEquipmentShed

    all i heard is baaaaaaaaaaa

  • @SturmKorps For the entire video, or just my comment?

  • @JimsEquipmentShed

    Your fucking comment.

  • @SturmKorps Well played sir, your eloquence with the English language is indeed impressive. If you are that easily offended, you probably won't last long under normal conditions, much less in the event of the dreaded SHTF.

  • lmao why would they put there faces on tv and they only have one guy with actual military exp =FAIL

  • Am I the only one that caught that?? One week without water? You'd be past the point of no return within two or three days- silly T.V.

  • No one would EVER think that farm is so well guarded or protected. Even if a group of fighters COULD take that place out, they would meet such stiff resistance that they would just go look for easier pickings. I know that as soon as I hit one of the trip wires, I would be calling it a day and getting the hell out of there.

  • But can they stop a tank?

  • @sok8888 I'm sure if guys with sandals and man dresses in Afghanistan can, these guys have some type of capabilities of doing so.

  • @ASAT225 apart from the obvious fact that the taliban have access to anti-tank weapons and masses of explosives, including artillery rounds.

Southernprepper1 could easily stop average gangs/marauders with rifles and handguns, but if it ever came to a tank fight, if he can't prevent a confrontation then he has lost.

  • a wood powered truck. wow. just wow x.x

  • I am a prepper myself. Though in the early stages. The recent transition out of the Army and job coming up for 7 months will hinder getting along too far. I just wish I could convince more people to have this attitude and that it isn't fear its being prepared. In a circumstance that would be the downfall, well I don't want to be caught unprepared and be saying well I should have done this or that.. I tried hitting the like button again it was so good. Engineer is a genius! A+

  • Probably scares your family at night when a deer or wild big comes through and sets off the trip wires eh?.. You are better off with remote motion detectors and remote cameras, infrared preferred. I would use tripwires as a back up but not for everyday use.. With a lot of wooded land you should consider trapping, and stock the ponds with fish, ducks, geese, frogs.. etc.. lol

  • Your large supply of food is probably way too much even for 2 families?? Your food will probably expire before you consume it. Do you line your food up as to the expiration dates and consume the oldest food first? How much have you thrown away? Just wondering.. Canned food only has a couple of years use. Like build a square room with shelves on every side and line up food expiration dates accordingly.. Its a balancing act for sure..

  • @99bugout ON THE COMMENT YOU LEFT ON Doomsday Preppers (just the southernprepper1 and engineer775 part) his food is allot of dehydrated it lats 25 years more if properly stored

  • @99bugout A lot of the boxes of food look like the come from the Mormon church food distribution centers. I know because I have the same boxes although not near as many. The shelf life is 30 years for the their food. It is all healthy dried goods that are sealed in air tight containers with oxygen absorbers thereby creating the 30 year shelf life. Hope this helps....

  • Raw fresh milk, fresh eggs, real chicken meat.... This isn't prepping, it's living!

  • paranoid as fuck, but still have to admire all that work.

  • so you have fire arms what about explosives im good with them and i can make them :D

  • this is inspirational great for these guys to show us how to be ready with out panic

  • These preps are stellar. period. you gents have raised the bar for me and mine for sure

  • WOW That is one amazing set up they have going! I am officially jealous! I have a goal to shoot for now for sure. I would say they are in the top 1% of people in their level of preparedness! This type of set up is a dream come true for me. Good job people!

  • WOW That is one amazing set up they have going! I am officially jealous! I have a goal to shoot for now for sure. I would say they are in the top 1% of people in their level of preparedness! This type of set up is a dream come true for me. Good job people!

  • Guys the trip wires with the nose emmmiter is prety loud and at night its WOW. With a infa read system it cant be beat! If you what better you need to be the USAF with drones to fly over head at night. Also you can use dead falls, drop pits, make them deep enought ponge -stakes At the bottom pot out the wire 3 rows with cans hanging off them with small bearings in them or rocks about 3 to 4 each

  • Im almost positive this is a COD map..

  • you guys have really got your s&!t together. the expert opinion is like ... everyone has one... (you know the rest). who are these experts? lets see their plan. why show you guys if they have these great experts? because you both have the best plan i have ever seen. thank you for sharing.

  • These guys are right on the money. The dollar will collapse in time. System failure is certain. Too many people of low values. The herd will starve. At the very worst....eat the herd. ha. Sad this gent went public. He'll be easy to find for some. If all goes bad...I'm out to the deep country.

  • These guys are nuts if they think that spending thousands of dollars preparing for an event that is extremely unlikely to ever happen is sensible.

Nothing wrong with having a hobby and all that, but these guys seem to really think they are actually need all that stuff!!!!!!!

  • @jasonx1972 Mate relax they ain't hurting anyone nor r they breaking any laws. Its this simple: It's better to have and not need than to need and not have!

  • @jasonx1972 On Sept. 10, 2001, if I told you several men armed with knives would hijack a half dozen airliners, destroy the WTC, cripple the Pentagon, and try to destroy the Capital, you would have said it was extremely unlikely. Would you still be believing this on Sept. 11th? If that can happen, so can this. The economy collapsed in 1929 and it can happen again. Riots and looting have occurred before, it will happen again. Remember Hurricane Katrina and LA '92?

  • @JeremyHopper007 Sorry this is the availability heuristic, one of the most proven flaws of human reasoning; where people rate the probability of something happening higher simply because it easily and clearly comes to mind.

It’s why people avoid getting on airplane’s because of air crashes on the news, or afraid to swim in the sea after seeing Jaws (despite there only being 3 fatal shark attacks a year!!!).

Just because something can happen, doesn’t mean it will.

  • @jasonx1972 And just because something hasn't happened, doesn't mean it can't. Think about it. Have there ever been any unprecedented moments in history where an event unfolding was the first time of its occurrence? Yes. This is part of a preppers planning phase. Plan for the severity and probability of an event to determine the risk and act accordingly. Take a look at collapsed economies of other nations. What would stop it from happening in the U.S.?

  • @jasonx1972

Why don't you ask grandpa how he stole apples from the market in the great depression, that would give you an idea.

  • lol he does have fear he fears an economic collapse which is why he spends all his time preparing (its pointed out at 7:48). nd if mother nature hits him all that preparing might not help at all. enjoy life and have fun while you can and deal with shit when it happens if your still here, thats the best way. he can prepare all he wants but sooner or later he nd all his people will die. everyone does dnt be scared. being able to make electricy outta wood is pretty cool tho.

  • @babyballa24100 I do enjoy life everyday. Tomorrow Iam going to pick some fresh tomotoes and some peppers and try some fresh peach jam on some homemade bread. Then Iam going to go fishing with my son at the local lake. Oh no all these things tie in with prepping. I guess I will have to do something else maybe go to a movie and take my wife out for a hot fudge sunday. Well I did that on Friday evening so I will have to find something else to do. Iam glad your concern I have fun Thanks

  • @southernprepper1 awesome balance is important. nothing wrong with a little preparation for just in case and knowledge is important. i do like what you have in your videos good stuff.

  • @southernprepper1

Not trying to be a sycophant but you're an inspiration, not for prepping (I don't have the need/urge) but for living a good, simple life. For vacation this year me and my girl went to her nanna's house, picked the wild fruits (cherrys, blueberries, raspberries, currants), made preserves, helped her nan take down some trees that had died on the root and other good things. Food tastes better if you've done it yourself, life is better if you have some "real-world" skills.

  • @amdrewmwerto I hear you and I am fairly well prepared also, but never under estimate people who are extremely hungry/thirsty. You're in a better postion than I am because you have land around you. I live in a fairly large city... it will be like zombieland here.

    Stay healthy and alert.

  • Roving hoards with automatic weapons would be able to overtake these people in less than 1 hour. I don't care how much ammo they have.

  • @JP5466 Yes they sure might be able to do that...but that is why a community is need and just not a few people. Being able to get help from alot of people is the answer. Its all about community.

  • i have a question? what happens in people like black water come and try to take over like they did in Katrina ?

  • bring in some experts from Argentina. They would probably be more accurate in their assessment.

  • talk about paranoid.

  • I like all your videos and feel like the info you have shared will save a lot of lives if the worst comes. However if people are dying from dehydration and starvation and hear your cows mooing and your chickens clucking, word will spread and you WILL be overrun. People will go to any length to avoid their family dying. I'm sure you have a fall back location but at what expense will it take to get there. Wish you had stayed under the radar. Here's wishing you the best SP1.

  • @TheMan4547 The people that surround us are country people that all have gardens and fruit trees and livestock they are just like us but they dont even know they are preppers. I want to work with these people to provide saftey for alot more people and take care of people that cant take care of themselves older people that followed all the rules in life and help build and sustained this country. Iam trying to think bigger than just me and a few family but a community.

  • @southernprepper1 You have taught lots of people many things that will save many lives. You are the King of Preppers and I wish you the best. Good luck brother. PS I could also see a mini-series for TV.

  • @southernprepper1 amen brother!!

  • chance favors the prepared mind . also look into getting some tannerite it could come in handy

  • Retarded. Once again, peppers are right and experts are wrong. Without reenforcements , no fixed position is ultimately defensible.

Word WILL get out eventually about their compound. (I mean aside from televising it. /facepalm)

One of them gets capped on patrol, someone gets capped fixing a fence, someone gets wounded defending the cattle. Yes maybe they repel/kill some invaders. BUT eventually...

within a few months, the "roving bands of marauders" win by attrition.

  • @40DegreeShoulder For the record there was no expert. That is why we objected....We have more than the two families they shown plus we have a community. All the rest you typed is right on that is why we have a plan B.

  • nice

  • You're an inspiration on doing things oneself and being prepared for anything. Didn't know you were in S.C. though; hello from Georgia.

  • what are they going to do when the army comes to get them?

  • This video was enjoyable, but the only problem I had with it was the fact that the Discovery Channel didn't hide the location of the retreat. Over-all, at least they weren't portrayed as some "right-wing crazies." I believe every family should have some sort of a prepping mentality in case a natural disaster, or some kind of economic collapse happened. It makes no sense to believe that if something major happened you could just stroll to the grocery store, or call 911 and it would all be fine.

  • These guys are fucking genius wish I could afford to be as prepared as they are. The day is coming when the shtf.

  • southernprepper1 and engineer775! my 2 favorite preppers

  • my expert asessment is that i am not enough prepared

  • Excellent video...thank you for sharing

  • how loud are those trip wires?

  • @Chriznak You would probably have to PM southernprepper1 and ask, but since he seems likes them so much they must be pretty loud.

  • @Chriznak Looks like he made those from something like these: walmart[dot]com/ip/GE-SmartHome-Window-Alarm-2pk/16561504. We have them on our doors and windows. They're not loud enough to be heard over a long distance, but they're certainly loud enough to get you up in the middle of the night and over the TV during the day! If the neighbors are outside they can probably hear it.

  • @Chriznak They as as loud as a normal door alarm because thats what they are.

  • just alsome ty :)

  • the show would be much better if they left out the "experts" advice and rating segment. Invisible experts? yea thats a good one ...

  • BEST PREPPERS!!! These guys were in 1st place and the gentleman after them (The last guy) was also good but comes in 2nd place :D
