Just finished 4 yrs in cadets, cadets has gone downhill a lot recently discipline wise and general standard wise. I laugh at these mongs with the A2s, I was just quitting as the a2 was being introduced. I was in the rifles inf cadets and out of the 30 odd girls I came across, not one of them could competently handle a weapon or keep up with the lads on ex. Just saying. I'm not sexist.
i would like to point out that at 0:10 a weapon safety handling rule is being broken :O. The muzzle of a weapon should never point in a direction that if a round were to be fired no harm would be done xD or the muzzle of a weapon should not be pointed at anyone, even in jest.
Question: I am a Portuguese citizen, and I am going to study (university) in England or Scotland in September, I am 17; can I join the Cadets (Army or Air)? I Searched up the UOTC but you have to be a commonwealth citizen.
To the person called runahalfmile, a lot of companies teach their cadets to take out their Cap badges on an FTX as they feel it involves one of the seven S's "Shine"
@Pink94CJ really berets should never be worn in the field anyway, which is why there is such things as twat hats, my cap badge is sewn in (because in my county theres only two RAMC dets so everyone wants to steal our cap badge) so if im out in the field without a twat hat, my beret comes straight off
@NathanAndrewLonsdale well they arent royal marines /cadets, differant organisations use different rules, my county will keep to the mannual, no headgear expt/twat hat/helmet/PRR etc and we have a load of ex regs so if you do anything wrong (they dont act different because your a kid) they will yell at you (if in the field smack you across the back of the head) and it isnt their problem, youve been taught it loads before...
swear that was like only company and noone else like squadren and why were loads of them not wearing cap badges theyre harldy gonna lose them if they put them in properly and if they havnt got them yet they shouldnt be using weapons

actually i think you will find that a regimental headress is to be worn into battle.
Also the girl who is featured in the video on the blank firing exercise has made a few safety and weapon handling errors.
1- Position and hold must be firm enough to support the weapon, i've seen more support out of basic cadets brushing a floor.
2- there is no need to depress the hold open catch in the load, as she did, it is clear that she has done so.
3- no forward assist on the load... ugh... pathetic
