That's a siamang.

Yes, these are Siamangs, a large gibbon, not a howler monkey at all. Howler monkeys do some sort of a dull roar noise, not a high pitched call like these guys

Siamangs are lesser apes not monkeys

you're absolutely right: there are siamangs which are lesser apes and howler monkeys which are New World monkeys. Two completely different primates
