  • Mike, do you want to make business with China?

Do you think your channel on youtube is a good vehicle to present this idea to the world?

  • Mike,

    where's your terror pot...?

If you got problems with Chinese, just try him.

  • Mike! Good to see your post. Do you get to see your kids much?

  • If you want to learn how to speak chinese, simply record a couple of cats howling out there in the alley and then try to immitate them. It's about the same thing. ...which is kind of funny because they say "you are what you eat" and I've heard something about chinese restaurants that would definately verify that.

  • that's a very racist and childish comment, grow up! Chinese is going to own you dip shit!

  • Those little yellow dogs will not own this giant swede. I'll end as many of them as I can before I go to Valhalla! Besides that, you have no sense of humor. And you should not call people names... it is "childish". Physician, heal thyself. Ha!

  • Mike, thanks for all your videos. I have been a fan for quite some time, and have tried to post comments on several occasions but for some reason they haven't shown up. Looking forward to seeing more vidoes from you when your project is wrapped up.

  • What programming language do you use?

  • 你好!

  • A separate currency for basic needs. A system for everyone on this planet. You can buy only what´s produced in the system. The aim is to produce what´s needed with as few man-hours as possible. Work for credits in the system. (a few hours a month and only if you want to) Do a year or a month at a coop-farm, learn a trade, and get the credit up for life. The greed/fear-driven economy will run parallel, with lower taxes. A potato could be almost free! Copy/Place everywhere

  • Post this on 4chan with big tits as the related pic and you will get better distribution/discussion.

  • Looking forward to you having more time to spend with us!

  • I'm a software developer and we use Visual Studio. Our current project takes about 5 minutes to build. We link in a lot of third-party libraries which we don't have to build each time.

So how exactly do you make code build faster?

  • I like that, software that fails faster. I know THAT is not what it's supposed to do!! At least you can laugh about it. Anyways, do you think this what Geithner is using or do you reckon he's using a plain old dartboard? Virtual or physical oujii board? hmmm.....

  • Don't waste your money!!! Swine flu will wipeout 90% of the world population.

  • you might be right but people stil need to communicate.

  • Good to see you Mike. When you get back to the economic reporting would you please report on what you think is going to happen in the UK over the next 1-3 years. Such as inflation. unemployment, civil unrest, gold/silver. I see mucho channels detailing the US, and predictions regarding the above things, and more. But there is a complete glut of information for the UK. I know it's impossible to predict anything with any accuracy, but would you have a stab at it please. Pretty please! Take care.

  • the news????

  • good news! and good luck on the project! :D

    hi Mike *waves* ;) hehe

  • Have you ever looked at the amount of facial expressions you do in any given video? Its quite impressive.

  • Go have a nice steak at the Charcoal in Kitchener. They have great pig tails, too!

  • you waisted 5 min from my life :)

  • better - rosetta stone

that is how i learned french

  • hugh?

  • What is this project you keep talking about?

  • Hey Mike.. On one of your older videos you mentioned that you went to the Michigan State Fair. I am not sure if you knew but that was the last one, it was the end of a 161 year tradition. How did you like Detroit?

  • Great video!

  • Hi Mike, I'm curious about something. I was in HK Airport about a week after the handover and I was shocked to see that there was not a single word of English on the multilingual signs. The cutie at the info counter who spoke perfect English mentioned that it had been a recent change. I kinda figured it was a form of protest. I felt very uncomfortable and remained glued to my departure lounge seat during the layover

    Is this still the case?

  • When i was there a few months back, it wasn't the case at all - english everywhere.. guess they learned their lesson?

A nice place now apparently (and free wifi in the terminal LOL!)

    Peace and Love

  • No, there's a new airport now, there is english

  • I don't even care what you are saying. It is fun just watching you say it. lol Peace

  • Thanks Mike! Love your videos!!

  • I'm thinking you'd be better off here in Canada as opposed to the UK when all the "Gloom" comes around.

  • Did you see Ambrose's article today? The EU is sure of it...

  • Ahah nice, I got the same mandarin books earlier this year.. now I just need to push myself a little and actually learn it !

  • Ni hao = you good

    I've started learning mandarin too.

  • I waiting for "Dummies For Dummies" to come out! :P

  • Good News: The wait is over

Bad news: It don't come in a book

More Good News: All you have to do is watch and believe in the media. CNN, CBS, FOX, etc...

More Bad News: Most people are ahead of you already.

  • ROFLMAO

    nice ;-)

  • Knee how...is that it??? You seem so happy...I am glad all is going well......

  • yay

  • Say Mike, ever heard of GNU "make"?

  • Shhhhh - google 'electric make' ;-)

They're thinking of switching everything to Ant :-( yuk! Well it is a LOT of java code

    Peace and love

  • >Shhhhh - google 'electric make' ;-)

I meant to suggest the underlying problem with the variable build times might be related to cache misses. You've got the cpu L1 and L2 caches, OS caches of the hard drive, and the hard drive itself has a cache. If the build has lots of things going in parallel I can imagine caches somewhere end up becoming useless.

Maybe it's a distributed build across many machines?

These are just the kinds of puzzles that are fun to solve...

  • I'm using the Neo Freerunner (dual boot OpenMoko and Android), so I can fix stuff myself. FOSS is better, you know. :)

  • I don't choose who the company works with; i just make it work!

  • I suppose US citizens should learn Chinese...After all they own us anyway...lol!!

  • Your local high school probably has a night course.. mine does! yikes!

    Peace and Love

  • if the internet should go down can you build software for us to get to you? Also did not expect you today, very nice surprise!

    Thanks always

  • where there is a will, there is a way!

  • your looking good mike, thanks for the info :)

  • Software improved by 3% I am guessing? That is efficient.

  • LOL - uhhhh a bit better than that (or they wouldn't give us the cash!) - more like a 300% improvement in speed... which of course will mean they will now throw 3 times as much work at it, and it will return to the same time...

But that is how it goes :-)

    Peace and love

  • Yeah, my jab/jibe/joke was that of a pessimistic techie,or pessimistic cube-rat or whatever.

300%, congrats on the hard work.

  • first! for once.

  • h00t!

    (apparently that is kewl? LOL)
