  • wow for a ship that will sink in a hour or so, people are so relaxed.

  • did he say the f word @ 0:28?

  • I am so happy they cast Kate in this role instead of some skinny coquette like Gwyneth Paltrow! Kate's body type totally fits in with the era of the movie, her fuller more voluptuous figure was the feminine ideal for the Edwardian period. It doesn't hurt that she's one of the best actresses of her generation as well. Well done, Mr Cameron, on casting somebody so authentic both in the style of the times and in her own being. Kate Winslet - a classic mixture of star and actress, a very rare breed!

  • You know it really aggravates me that they wouldn't take as many safety precautions as they possibly could. I mean seriously what the hell!?!? Oh no let's not put any more safety boats because the ship can't sink. God forbid were actually wrong about this but who cares my lazy ass doesn't feel like adding the extra life boats. That's why it's important to have a plan B people! Otherwise you get yourself in a scary ass clusterfuck like this one.

  • It's not Thomas Andrews fault the Titanic sank. He wanted to double the hull and add 54 more lifeboats, but that bastard Ismay overruled him. Thomas did blame himself though, and he did the honorable thing: Go down with the ship.

  • IMPOSSIBRU

  • Sad scene....too few lifeboats...too many deaths!

  • One of the things that touched me most about this scene is how heartbroken he looked...the actor's potrayal was amazing. I imagine the real Thomas Andrews was quite heartbroken when he realized that all his work would soon disappear below the waves forever.

  • @DesertLynx83 not only his work, but that he and several other 'big-wigs' were now responsible for the deaths of so many people!

  • @MDkid1 Yeah, that, too. The fact that only half the people on the ship would survive (best case scenario) had to be a huge burden, too. In the end, it was far less than half. :( May they all rest in peace.

  • lol 0:30 "there's no need for language mr. hawkley" hahahaha

  • So they tell us it was too dark to see the iceberg that night? - Did anyone notice the bright daylight and skies from outside the glass dome? ;)

  • @Ballhandler17 I noticed that too

  • Victor Garber... he will always be Jesus from Godspell to me.

And Billy Zane will always be the hilarious demon from that episode of Charmed where Leo jumped off a bridge and Billy Zane was all "we will not give up on love, I repeat, not. give up. on love."

  • so proud billy zane in greek he is amazing

  • Whats the name of the classical song that is played.

  • @footloose9022 Alexander's Ragtime Band.. i've uploaded it for you. enjoy ;))

  • The man playing Mr. Andrews is AMAZING. The way her turns to look at Rose, the way he speaks, the way he touches her. He's such a good actor. Anyone else agree or is it just me?

  • @jaymeeharkeen88 Yes, he is a great actor! But I think that scene is so perfect also because of Kate! Her beautiful eyes & hair, her face, the way she looks - awesome!

  • @jaymeeharkeen88 I agree...the actor's expressions and concerns as he tells Kate that the ship will sink is nothing short of perfection.

  • @jaymeeharkeen88 Yeah I always thought that he had the best performance in the film, would have liked to have seen more of him.

  • @jaymeeharkeen88 Victor Garber is the actor's name =/

  • @jaymeeharkeen88 Victor Garber is a great actor. Very underrated.

  • Andrews: This ship will sink..in about an hour or so, this ship will be at the bottom of the Atlantic.

    Rose: I don;t understand

Andrews: My apologies, let me translate that in American. We're Fucked.

  • Isn't this a good metaphorical precursor to what is about to happen to us on Earth? The ship being the Earth, the iceberg being the world debt bubble, the musicians being the politicians, the careless elite snobs being the too big to fail super rich, the people drinking or playing with the ice being your neighbors, The helpless 3rd class being the "99%" with the door shut on them, Mr. Andrews giving up his life so that others would live being Christ, etc.

  • my names cal too

  • But the ship can't sink..

    ...and it did...

  • The scene with the band playing on deck was almost completely copy-pasted from the same scene in "A Night To Remember." But in both movies it was a good scene.

  • Duh, it really is a chick's movie. If they had also targeted us males then they would have made Kate Winslet a bit sexier at least. The women got Leo and Billy Zane. What did we get? Kate Winslet looking like she's already preggers a few months.

Honest to say, when I first (and last) saw it - because I had been tricked thinking it was a disaster movie when it really was a disastrous cliché romantic movie I didn't notice Winslet looked less than hot because I expected her to die anyway.

  • @AudieHolland I am a guy and I love titanic. Not the love story, but I love the disaster/thriller side of it.

  • @philipisphilip " u remember what i told you about the boats!"...aawww....now THATS ironic isn't it?..

  • @philipisphilip

Well, good for you! Being a guy I mean.

    Better ship disaster movies IMO:

A Night To Remember - more historically correct, not that dated if you don't mind B&W

The Last Voyage - right at the start, the disaster clock starts ticking (disappointing final view of the ship, last seconds, but solid for the rest)

The Poseidon Adventure - the mother of all ship disaster movies: as cheesy as Titanic but somehow you relate more to the characters.

Pros for all three: no boring explosé.

  • Checkout my channel The official!

  • OMG! I love this movie!!!!

  • Cal is thinking "Hmmm.....I wonder if THE PHANTOM can save the day?"

  • There's some degree of dispute over what the final tune played by the band of 'Titanic' was:

Not 'Nearer My God to Thee' but one called 'Autumn'.

What is true is that all the ship's lights stayed on until the ship was vertical.

Thomas Andrews designed 'Titanic' to take a double-row of lifeboats, but Board of Trade regulations at the time 'Titanic' was built did not require so many. The rules were changed as a result of the tragedy.

  • the music so lively. made the sinking scenes more horrific.. ironically. then it turned sad and that was just... =(

  • @phantomwaltz

There's no proof that the music turned sad on the real Titanic, apparently. None of the survivors who stayed till the final moments reported any sad hymns or any depressing music. Most of the time, the music was lively ragtime and waltzs.

  • It's Alias's daddy!

  • But this ship cannot sink! It is made of poopy! I assure you it can.

  • at 0:53 looks like daytime

  • The ship MIGHT sink, so we'll only put A FEW lifeboats on board.

    How valid is that?

  • Katw Winslet in and wonderfull actress ...she is beauty, her eyes are amazing and she is actting with a lot of talent

  • @Honeygirl572 when kate won her oscar marian cotillard spoke of kate in such an honest way, she said that (maybe few misquotations) 'as your character move through time, love and the most dire of circumstances, we, your audience never lose...a connection to you' it is the most true words ive ever really heard about kate, is she the most dramatic, no, the most method, no, but she is in my opinion, the most believable.

  • I know this is random, but Victor Garber has diabetes.

  • does anyone know what's the name of the song playing at the beginning by the orchestra

  • Mr.Andrews was a respectful person, this is how a gentleman dies. R.I.P

  • I love kate winslet and her impeccable acting

  • ohh my gawwd peoples the ship will sink ohh my gawwd

  • It's evening, but in the ceiling (with the glass), it's day. Or am I the only one, who see's the day light? :s

  • @RieMacaron i see the daylight as well...

  • @RieMacaron It is a form of indirect lighting around the dome. Later in the movie, when the ocean water crashes through the dome, you will see the electric sparks that lit that area.

  • It's midnight, y r so many people still awake?

  • @RandomVideos1425 because they were woken up because the ship was sinking

  • whats with the echo?

  • Thomas Andrews, the nicest guy on board.

  • @HowlMagic95 ikr

  • "You remember what I told you about the boats?"

For me, this scene relayed everything the movie was leading up to. The feeling of complete and utter helplessness and the sheer terror of knowing that half of the population of Titanic will not make it to a lifeboat, and die. So sad.

  • just to tell u this is not a deleted scene i saw Titanic and it showed the the ship will sink scene duh

  • @kidsnrt42 it doesnt say its a deleted scene

  • How the hell did they not remove this because of copyright violation and crap?

  • There is something so beautiful about the way this scene is shot, like it could be any other night with the music and the people all dressed up but then there is something uncanny about the lighting and the feeling. Then you have the magic of Kate coming through with the look of terror in her eyes. Say what you will about this film but it has magic direction, cinematography and some gripping performances.

  • I felt sorry for Mr Andrews - he built the ship and tried to get enough lifeboats for everyone but Ismay wouldn't allow it. But as the ship sinks, you can tell he feels guilty - his ship, ergo his fault, as he sees it. Plus, he was one of the few decent first class passengers, not hating the lower classes. Victor Garber did very well :)

  • hockley loooooks like he is wearing eyeliner..........

  • Her eyes is too beautiful!!! can't take eyes off them

  • On 0.53 sec you can see a clearly blue sky. you can see it because the blue sky is just only light. it's not a real sky, the glass bowl is not the real window, there is an window and things above. i'm sorry my english is not very good. but i hope it cleared youre mind :)

  • "Thank you very much for telling me, Captain Obvious,"

  • great acting

  • @Flamorgan Well atleast he saved a few lives.., besides, i would try to save mydelf from death so I really dont blame him:)

  • I wish the Academy would've taken supporting roles in Titanic more seriously. Victor Garber was wonderful as Thomas Andrews IMO. Look at the way he snaps around, coldly and detached when Rose tries to grab his attention. You can tell that he was just yanked down from that cloud of disillusion that was floating on. Brilliant film and brilliant acting by everyone.

Kate still deserved the Oscar for Best Actress IMO.

  • Was Mr. Andrews a real person?!

  • @HereNameGoes yes, Mr. Andrews was the designer of the ship and he did die on the maiden voyage of the Titanic but not before getting as many people as he could in the lifeboats.

  • Pause at 0:53 why is the sky blue if the ship sank at night ?

  • @jackloobyloo I think it's just the lighting inside the outer cover for the Grand Staircase's dome.

  • Mr Andrews is my fave character x

  • victor garber has a stricking resemblance with the real thomas andrews

  • Lol, at 1:37 Cal is like: "Wait, what?"

  • @Nibelungenherr1876 yeah, the face that he makes in that scene is just priceless^^

  • @Nibelungenherr1876 Lol i know..

  • The role, the film and the scene that made Kate Winslet an icon - she's pretty much channeling all the classic Hollywood stars here - Vivien Leigh, Greta Garbo, Bette Davis.... she has the glamour, the intrigue, the nuance and the mystery.

  • @Messylin i agree, it is in my opinion the last classic hollywood film, kate channelled all the great actresses from past time and it gave the film much more of an honest appeal, i cannot imagine what the film would have turned out like if gweyneth paltrow, clare danes or some other blond would have got the part, rose could have so easily been disliked and misunderstood, camerons writing didint give rose that many layers, but kates reactions did.

  • @numba1danman claire danes wouuld''ve done amazing as well. have you seen her in little women?

  • @xingalingaful clare danes is a good actress, bnut im not sure you understand how GOOD kate winslet actually is, she is the youngest actor of either sex to be nominated 3, 4,5 and 6 oscar nominations, she is on a apr with meryl and will only achieve meryl's status with age and consistency, clare danes isnt a meryl, kate winslet is FAR SUPERIOR.

  • @xingalingaful clare danes has never been nominated for an oscar, oscars are controversial in who they nominate however, the better judge of how GOOD someone is are the golden globes and again clare danes has been nominate 0 times to kate winslet's 10 and 2 wins.

  • @Messylin and to think, they almost didnt cast her because they said she was too fat...

  • She has GORGEOUS eyes! Wow!

  • @ThomasAndrewsGal1912 Bingo Mr. Ismay was a great man Ismay was a man of heart and caring for others mostly his own he did the wright thing when he fled i'm starting to believe Rose should have had affair with Ismay instead of pervert jack & the horny cal Hockley

  • @ThomasAndrewsGal1912 Mr Andrews cared for nobody but his own ship i strongly believe that he cared less for people if they died or not.

  • @MrBeanLovesSex Thomas andrews from ireland let his maids and 3rd class people take the space in his lifeboat if thats not a caring man i dont know what is.

  • @JordoF6 you know this is just a film a lot of the stuff on this didn't exactly happen, except from the boat sinking, jack didn't exist nor did kate or what-ever the fuck she's called

    now gtfu and go away

  • @JamesMichaelBillings I am fully aware jack and kate are not real thomas andrews was real idiot and he did help many people and fuck off i'm not going anwwhere you little fool.

  • @MrBeanLovesSex fuck you

  • @pbcat16 you to can kiss the Captains arss.

  • Good scene.

  • At 0:48 Rose thought MR Andrews was Cal Hockley she obviously is still in love with Cal, shame on you pervert Jack God has yet more punishment for you nor shell you have your own way kiss the captain arss & hail merry to your self.

  • i hate rosers mother i could slap her:L

  • does any one else notice how at 0:53 how bright the sky light is despite the fact that this is set at midnight

  • @seanbelke

The dome itself was under another roof, from which they illuminated the dome. :)

  • @561excalibur

    If I am right

  • I feel so bad for Mr Andrews! he must have been under so much stress when he knew the ship stood to chance! :(

  • @KingOystar Mr Andrews cares for nothing he knew the ship would sink and no man or women will see the daylight again but he still went with the plan on boarding people. He also knew about jack and Cal falling for each other & its a shame that lady Rose was a bimbo not to see that.

  • if i am in a sinking ship, the thing i would do is to tell my family i love them... there's always a 70% chance we'll die and 30% we will survive...but at least i told them how much they mean to me...no regrets even after i die... !!! i certainly look up to rose,, she chose jack until the end..!!!! thumbs up if you agree

  • Ooops lol I ment leonardoe is soo hot!

  • Leo ares l

  • "Hey sonny, what's doing? You got us all trussed up here and now we're cooling our heels?!" The Unsinkable Molly Brown XD

  • @swimfish081 dude that was a 'cold' thing to say haha

  • I feel like most people forgot about this movie ... I feel like some people will talk about it once in a blue moon.... but damn it, this movie was SO incredibly made and SO amazing, and of course, a big time tear jerker. I become so overwhelmed when I watch it. And Leo was a sexy beast in it!

  • You can see the horror in Mr: Andrews eyes! So sad :/

But such a wonderful movie that will never get old :)

  • I thought she was naturally ginger:L

  • This is the best scene in the film for me. Kate conveys everything with her eyes. Can't believe she didn't get the oscar. This was the most sensational performance in Hollywood since Vivien Leigh in Gone with the Wind.

  • MOVIE MISTAKE at 0:53 : there's clearly a blue sky behind andrews, but this can't be cause the ship hit the ice thing at night; and the ship sank before sun came up (obviously); so it should be night outside ;) Great scene though.

  • @iBlackphone I think it's always that color?:O

  • @iBlackphone the glass windows of the hall where they were was enlightened so it looks like it is day....

  • kate winslet has really beautiul eyes. like diamonds. like the heart of the ocean. T.T

  • oh my goodness

    KATE IS SEXY AS FAAAAACKKKKKKKKKKK

  • They wont need the heaters being turned on in their rooms. Because the wont be a ship left to go back to?

  • Better half my ass. There were only a handfull of good rich people onboard and yet they were no better then anyone from 2 and 3 class.

  • She would like cup of tea with ice... OMG!! --.--

  • I hope it's true tht this will b in 3D tht would b so cool!!

  • roses mother should have marryied hartley they are made for each other both are selfish
