@way2jaded1 Why should I have to look stuff up for you? There is a host of quotes from atheist writings circulating the web. That say as much. The pole just shows why polictians wouldn't want to announce their atheism. But there is always the exception.By mammon I guess you mean materialism? Carl Sagan said that mater was all there is and all their will ever be. Seems that they go hand in hand. Yes, to be a Christian we must believe God rose Jesus from the dead. That is Creationism.
you don't have to look stuff up for me and I am well versed in what a lot of atheists say none of which matches with what you are saying so I asked for an example. simples.
by mammon I mean materalism? well if you want to give it another name, but I took mammon as in direct from the bible which does just fine for the purposes of discussing politicians.
Carl Sagan was at best an agnostic are you confusing atheism, mammon and paganism (the belief in a non christian god,)
@way2jaded1 watch?v=zFDyheyAebU&feature=feedu The Atheist recent bus ad campaign in Britain put this sign on busses. "There probably is no God, So why not stop worrying and enjoy your (perverted) life". I added the perverted to clarify what they mean. Christians also believe we're supposed to enjoy the life that God has given us; so atheist must mean "your perverted life". There terse defense and promotion of homosexuality also proves this.
The point where it decends into insults and it is clear that you are no longer reasoning is the point where I stop trying. I almost hope you are right because It is obvious to me that you have about the same chance as leading a camel through the eye of the needle as you do of going to heaven. I hope you manage to reopen your mind but I have lead you to water and you will not drink so as you suffer hell hear on earth why think the state will change after death.
@way2jaded1 Heaven is not a place we "go to". We can enter in right now. It is a state of mind and heart. Not a place. The heavenly surroundings grows out of the heavenly mind and heart. Only those who allow Christ to wash their hearts and minds clean, by His Word and Spirit. Can enter heaven.
I don't understand history that way. People came to america an because those people where materialistic they killed the vast majority of the native people. A lot of these people had come to america to escape religious persecution so when they founded the constitution they saw an america where such things would not happen for any religion hence even though the majority of americans are christian
america is not a christian country embracing all religion with plenty of space for the atheists.
@way2jaded1 "I don't understand history that way. People came to America an because those people where materialistic they killed the vast majority of the native people" - That's a very simple understanding of American History! Some of the very first came to escape oppression of all kinds. Especially religion. They made friends with the (friendly) Indians. They shared how to grow corn and hunt, socialized, even married. But the plundering, oppressing, opportunist weren't far behind the.
well of course it was a little simplistic there are only so many words you can use after all, does it make the statement less true? I am not sure I get your point. My point is that history for the large point is as nasty and horrid as modern history and to point and blame atheists for moral degradation sighting a fluffy understanding of history is not helpful to debate.
@way2jaded1 I'll grant you, that no one but God could draw a solid line between the righteous and the wicked. When Christianity is dominate, the wicked put on their sheep clothing, work their way up the church hiarchy and corrupt it from with in. The cost of freedom is eternal vigilance for all. Most todays church has dropped the ball, letting politicians carry it. Atheist have really caved in to wickedness. By saying their is no Creator, no purpose or moral's. Other then the relative moment.
This seems a bit of a leap (but I will run with it) nearly all elected american politicians reporting some denomination of the Christian faith in order to be elected. Please if you can give me the name of a single atheist politician I would be most interested. I would also be interested in the name of an atheist who claims to have no morals and not just of low moral character but actually devoid of them. The cost of freedom is eternal vigilance is a truism a sad one granted.
@way2jaded1 There was a recent poll, that found, that atheist are the least trusted group in America. You look it up. So I don't think will see any slippery politicians owning up to there real beliefs. I go by their belief in evolution. If their not couragous to confess a creator; then their probably a closet atheist. Like Obama! Big name atheist make statements all the time about morals and meaning not being part of human existence. I'm not bothering to look those up for you. They're common.
Hmmmm... I go to work every day in the math building of the university I attend. Every last one of the math professors believes in God (it's a religious university). I've never heard a single one of them "laugh openly at Neo-Darwinism".
Religion is a powerful force for good in our lives. But it's not the same thing as Information Theory.
Again... could you please provide an equation for how to measure the amount of information in a species?
Every thing is related, FiverBeyond. I just happen to be interested from both an scientific and religious perspective. Their isn't any math that supports Neo-Darwinism. Most mathematicians laugh openly at the idea. Of course their are many God hating mathematicians that probably will defend the idea.
You won't give names I will live with my disappointment. It's fine *sniff*.
Thank you for telling me that to be a true christian you have to be a creationist I actually had no idea.
As for the Poll I am sure you are right there are a lot of poles that say a lot of different things.
Are you sure you have not got atheists confused with mammon they are seperate.
and it would make much more sense to me after all politicians are not going to admit that either but you can see it in there actions.

Now I see what's going on...
You aren't really interested in Shannon's Information Theory. You see this as a religious question, not a mathematical one.
That's just fine. Just don't call it math!
