Getting a call like that is like the fame of the KHARDASIANS - no logic.
Last year, at age 58, I was on probation at a university admin job, and got canned 4 months in. This was only a week or so after the boss lady wrote a glowing recommendation so I could refi my mortgage. The mortgage went thru, I lost the job, and I'm back to scrambling trying to pay it and my bills. And never a meeting with her to look me in the eye.
You'll rebound... we gays have practice with that.
Don't sweat it dude, I got the same call a few weeks ago for blockbuster out of all places just cause I was in probation. Who knew doing one childish prank on a truck a year ago was unforgivable haha, but don't worry man things will turn up, a little hiccup like this shouldn't mess up your awesomeness lol
That sucks... "Bit of a situation"? Bankruptcy maybe? Or the manager's nephew needed a job? Any place that pulls this sort of thing should be required to give you at least two weeks' pay in compensation for setting back your job search.
Bitch. --I had one job interview that took up 7 hrs stretched out over a week, after which they rushed to have me fingerprinted at a Sheriff's station during a violent thunderstorm. I had to get down there before their offices closed. I thought I had the job. And that's what they led me on to believe. Then nothing. I do a follow-up & they say I was unqualified for the job. Whaaat Then why did you have me get fingerprinted if I wasn't hired? Couldn't you tell I wasn't qualified before 7 hrs? Grrr
