I think Hollywood does it on purpose (getting the rights to make a movie based on asian culture, or an anime) and then butcher it and destroy it until it bleeds to make sure Westerners hate the movie and will hate where it originally came from, hence westerners not watching the true source. They did this with Avatar, Dragon Ball... and god help us when Death Note the hollywood adaption comes out.

They just want to make a movie to make money because that's thier job, but rather then make up thier own story they get lazy and base it off of something else even if they don't entirely understand the point or why people like it.

About your second question; the air discipline's special was actually shown as first of all: next to causing tornadoes and such is an airbender capable of flying on those 'airballs' or with the flying stick.

How did they recover from a 100 year war? It wasn't 10 min. 5 at the most. And it was rushed. And even if it was 10 mins...
10 min for 3 seasons of build up. Imagine that dramatic arc drawn out!!

@dbzhafan Well, yeah there are. But quite frankly, I dont think we're really supposed to know what happened to all of them. We know what happened to Suki and the Kioshi Warriors(not to mention Tai-Lee). There are several characters that appeared in a few episodes but didnt turn up for the final battle. most of Jet's Gang are absent, having dispatched after the attempt at flooding the village, with only the Duke and Pipsqueak appearing at all in Season 3.

Only people who could have died were tuft and sakka but they were quickly saved within 10 seconds...NO big bang IMO, just a "OK! everything works out! the avatar wins and everybody is happy! NO body dies,(except the moon girl) and the ending leaves you thinking!! I need an ending that is better than that....

The movie could've been soooo great, but they just cut too much away. They could've spend 3 hours doing the movie which would allow more time for everything, but instead they cropped everything up in 1.5 hours. It completely lacks the whole bonding of the team and the whole storyline is stupid.
Anyway, I truely hope there will be more Avatar as long as it wont be a movie.
@GinoLuccio Nick movies are short. always have been. personally, I would've settled at 2 1/2 hours or so. most of the show-especially season 1-is very episodic and would be hard to put onto film without fucking up the pacing.
But I would've still made 6 movies out of it if I could to get all the best parts in.

man i understand making a book 4 is extremely hard to do.....especially considering the fact that at the end of 3 the story said "THE END" lol. However, if they were to do so i think they should center it on azula breaking free, ursa being found, and combustion man returning(i'm surprised i didn't see that idea yet). Personally, I wanted to find out EXACTLY what happened the night Zuko's mother was banished. The way it was explained it was too vague, and too many questions were left unanswered:
~What was her plan to spare Zuko's life?
~How did Fire Lord Azulon die?
~Was he forced into giving Ozai the crown?
~How were Ursa's actions "Vicious" and "Treasonous"?
~And most important: Where is she!?

@Reaperluver rewatching the series, I think her plan to save Zuko's life was to conspire with Ozai and kill Fire Lord Azulon-either making his dying wish to change the will or forging his handwriting. that's made pretty clear in the flashback episode of Season 2.

i have an idea for book 4 where zuko finds out where his mother is and then he and the others go to this shop where they find a map to a hidden underground air refuge where zuko's mom might be. along the journey to the underground refuge, they come across new enemies--a group of firebenders who were big supporters of ozai--and an old enemy Azula, who escaped from the nut house.

Personally, I wanted to find out EXACTLY what happened the night Zuko's mother was banished. The way it was explained it was too vague, and too many questions were left unanswered:
~What was her plan to spare Zuko's life?
~How did Fire Lord Azulon die?
~Was he forced into giving Ozai the crown?
~How were Ursa's actions "Vicious" and "Treasonous"?
~And most important: Where is she!?
It is not enough for us hardcore fans. We want DETAILS! We want ANSWERS! WE WANT THE TRUTH!!!!!!

@Reaperluver rewatching the series, I think her plan to save Zuko's life was to conspire with Ozai and kill Fire Lord Azulon-either making his dying wish to change the will or forging his handwriting. that's made pretty clear in the flashback episode of Season 2.

sometimes i think that in the new avatar (legend of korra) they are gonna make aang as korra's mentor
and to explain everything they left out in avatar the legend of aang is gonna be put in an episode of the new avatar like they did in the episode called "The avatar and the firelord". but to say the truth, I am gonna miss the old characters (aang, katara, toph, sokka, zuko, etc..).

yes but if he is the last airbender, then if he and katara get together and have kids... he could pass the airbending gene down to his kids, he would then teach them airbending and the nomads would live again.

i have an idea for book 4 where zuko finds out where his mother is and then he and the others go to this shop where they find a map to a hidden underground air refuge where zuko's mom might be. along the journey to the underground refuge, they come across new enemies--a group of firebenders who were big supporters of ozai--and an old enemy Azula, who escaped from the nut house.

I hate to say this but here it goes...*deep breath* maybe not having book 4 is a good thing. Do we really want an endless series? Another pokemon? Dragonball Z? I think not. B.c eventually the writers would run out of good material and the show would eventually suck. I watched Pokemon / Beyblade / Yu-gi-oh, and Avatar beats them all ten fold. even Yu-gi-oh diddnt match Avatar :D but i never got to watch any dragon ball-Z since it seemed alittle thin and childish, would you suggest me watching it ?

@mukkohaha The Dragon ball series gets high points because of the popularity it had when it aired in America and from the nostalgia people get when they think back. As you get older you realize how ridiculous it was but still love it because of the good times you had when you watched it. If you didn't watch it when you were young you might never like it.
