  • It is a cool idea but the CPU resources that would be way to high for the little bit of awesomeness that it brings. Cool concept, just not realistic.

  • @albertdn97 The cpu could totally handle that. Stop using your windows NT and learn today's technology. Its not the 1990's anymore.

  • People should try DeepEnd for iOs and DeepAnd for Android for this like effect

  • WHEN IS THIS COMING OUT? if you are rooted is it possible to download something like this?

  • @ILLmatic407 is MIUI really good ?

  • whats the difference between MIUI and Rooted?

  • where can i download it?

  • How does the layered affect improve usage? It's a waste of resources.

  • That's so not using the camera to do eye tracking. It's using the accelerometer, which means it would only work if you hold it really still like the guy in the video is.

  • How to get this UI?

  • Download on market?

  • This effect should be using head-tracking, rather than eye-tracking. Since the view must be adjusted according to the position of the head relative to the device. It might not be so practical for mobile devices, since it might drain battery life unnecessarily.

For desktop PCs, it shouldn't be a problem. You just need the right software to handle the effect. Compiz, the window manager for Linux has a plugin that does this using webcam.

Just search 'Compiz Headtracking', you should find it.

  • Ya never see anything come from TAT though. All beta that seems to die off.

  • JUST BEAT IT!!! BEAT IT!!!

  • THIS IS FUCKING GENIUS

  • Hope this comes to the BB playbook :)

  • @CXENTE713 This will never EVER come to the playbook. It's an android application

  • @shiznoes I guess you have no idea who TAT is then.

  • Cool :D

  • could i possibly find this anywhere and if i could what would it be called, anyone who answers my question ill subscribe thanks :)

  • hihÌ_ÁÑýÖNË_wAÑÑA_chât_wïth_mê_í_fëÉl_sö_lÖnelY_tÔÐäY┘

  • хуйня

  • Cool ! :D

  • nice :D

  • Bring it to the NGP... I want the camera of Uncharted to change the view with eye tracking to give a 3D illusion...

  • gezus!

  • ZOMG will it come as an Android launcher? that is sooo coool

  • im getting the galapagos phone. i think i spelled it wrong LOL

  • Wow! Nice!

  • Porn music!

  • TAT is epic, but they also suck because they don't release anything.

  • @ThechosenDemon

thats true. They have awesome stuff and ideas but never released a darn thing. Whats up with that. Why tease if you still haven't come out with the tat home yet? The iphone has the same 3D effect before you guys. all you need of course is a jailbroken iphone and the source in cydia. Come on TAT guys, come out with your awesome stuff!!!!

  • jamiroquai logo?

  • Since TAT was bought by RIM I'm guessing we'll see this on the Playbook 2 or a new touch screen phone

  • Hey TAT!!!

Are you guys planning to release this or just for show?

  • 3DS

  • Thats so fuuuuuuunky!

  • Cool, for what platform is it for and when?

  • its for iphone?

  • iz it iphone

  • This + glasses-free 3d screens could make for some very cool new UI paradigms. Maybe the time has come to move from 2D Window-based GUIs to a 3-dimensional volume or room-based model.

  • So unnecessary...Buy it to play with it...

  • Comment removed

  • @smkyb2211

its not a video playing. if you look closer it is a song by The Who.

    really interesting video though.

  • @smkyb2211 you mean the music thats playing you dipshit

  • @smkyb2211 lol u failed. it's actually a song being played in the back.

  • COOL

  • Google, please buy these guys!

  • good idea but useless ^_^ its nice for the first time but after that u dont even look after this ^^ thats because iphone is the winner..noone need such graphical shit in a smartphone...this graphic physics just kills the battery :D

  • @Sp4ddl Apple fanboys, always worried about battery hahaha Pretty patetic :)

  • accelerometer cant do that the iphone 4 has new gyroscope feature that can do it

  • nice trick ,but so what?

  • This is so cool!

  • this is what the next version of android should look like, @TATMobileUI is there any hopes for an app or home replacement

  • ok thats just messing up my eyes...BUT I LOVE IT!!!!!!!!!!!!!11

  • the Icons look cartoonish so no way it looks to childish

  • @zellymusic because you cant change an icon reference image. and demo means that the product is finalized.

  • I wonder why no one has tried using built in accelerometers on a device to create a mild 3d effect like this without the need for glasses?

  • Comment removed

  • @joiggo Nintendo 3DS, its not using accelerometers but you also don't need glasses...

  • why the fuck do you need this? are you that stupid enough to look at your phone at different angles?? useless crap.

  • @fixingbraincell its just to look cool dumbass. If you don't care then just click off this page instead of leaving shitty comments

  • Can't wait to see this on Android. Hopefully Google just buys them out altogether and we can finally have great looking Android UI to match iOS. =)

  • And the point of this?

  • @1970sFeel ....some more load on the processor...and for sexy looks...

  • Amaziing!

  • i wonder why they show us a lot of videos like this one and many others if they will never release it on the market so that we can buy. just show off? this is nasty from them

  • wouldn't it have to be a very wide angle lense?

  • The people who think this is eyetacking. ITS NOT it's just a name

  • awesome! but couldn't it use the gyroscope technology in the iPhone 4 to do this also?

  • OMG fantastic :D:D:D:D:D

  • How can I do this in my iPhone

  • This can be done for the iPhone. Dual boot for iPhone please!!!! We already of dual boot with Droid we just need this :)

  • I doubt this is actually eyetracking. It more likely uses the accelerometer. The magnetometer in the new iPhone will make this even more precise. If it were eye tracking then how would it work to make the video here, unless there were "eyes" on the camera used to film it.

  • I doubt this is actually eyetracking. It more likely uses the accelerometer. The magnetometer in the new iPhone will make this even more precise.

  • /user/jcl5m INVETED THIS SHIT. THEY JUST TOOK HIS IDEA :D

  • '

will 3D work in my sidekick LX

  • where i cant get this omg !!!!!!

  • thats really cool i wondered where android got the idea from on their 3d gallery cause its just like that

  • @duffman23returns /user/jcl5m hes the creatoR!

  • So, would this concept use the actual eye tracking, a special pair of contacts, or a sensor inside the phone?

  • Iphone no not 3d.

  • nokia or iphone?

  • this phone for nokia or iphone? i dilema

  • look i read a few comments on this and a lot of u people out there are stupid for thinking it has eye tracking. 3d eye tracking is WHO made the UI. the phone uses an accelerometer so it looks 3d.

  • HOLIE KRAP

  • Wow...

  • its like that 3d dsiware game,

  • its just the shading for crying out loud!

  • You guys are so stupid it's not a video it's a song playing in the background its Sparks- The Who from the Tommy OST

  • i really do agree with knight md. In fact tat is not interested in making apps, it's all bout selling their products. So don't hope for it, nothing will come out from it unless you paid a premium for it.

People will just stare at the flashy ui for a while then forget about it. Talk only no substance equals fail.

  • all that was is a video on an iphone or itouch thats not even a new phone or concept

  • Don't understand the purpose of this at all. That doesn't look like 3D Eyetracking UI, looks like some pointless 3D accelerometer effects.

  • agreed

  • Lol look at he the time bar in the bottom of the screen, it's obviously a video playing.

  • TAT.... they're all talk, no substance....

Show me something real that you made. Stock Android 1.0 was ugly compared to your worst designed UI....

  • That is so cool, i want one!!!

  • i guess it's using the camera to track the eyes?accelerometer can only guess where the eyes is, since we can operate the phone from our hand, or flat on a table.

but if that's the case, i think the reason there's no mass production is that it will cost the battery life. much like the flash wallpapers, only worse!

however, i do find this interesting, and very nice if properly implemented. would be a nice topic starter too!

  • He need to move pda not head to change viev so this is accelerometer .

  • @lizzam LOL

  • cmon, release this for htc hd2 :(

  • @farhanborst yeaah :(

  • HOLY CRAP

  • whats symbian, just kidding, but truthfully, android is the new black, he needs to get on board here!

  • this doesnt have a lot of use that i can see but it looks wonderfull and i would certainly consider buying a phone because of this feature.

But why dont pc monitors have this feature? id imagine its much easyer to implement into something big like that. would two webcams and some clever software be able to acheive this?

  • it could be tilting when he tilt it up and down but when he does that to right and left?

the accelerometer cannot predict that movement

  • Wowie.

  • Neat!

  • Sorry to say it yes that app is tight, but easily done, its an i phone so that tech is pretty much already there, but its easy to do if you know Xcode ect. all you have to do is Write a 3d Shadowed box and create shadow shapes for each of the app icons, and you can obviously create any text on the walls. this isnt an easy thing for a newbie to any type of programing, but definitely not eye tracking you just use the Iphones Built in tilt system.

and its GUI not UI, GUI- Graphical User Interface

  • Whats The Download link for this theme on the " HTC Touch HD " ? ?

  • it this an iphone theme

  • Hey to you that made this video do i have any chance of maby getting that theme and/or that 3D Eyetracking UI for my own iphone??

  • can you download this

  • its time to move on, bro. symbian is a dying horse (5th edition was a huge disappointment)

  • What's the song/artist? I like it ..

  • ZOMG!!!!1 epic winz!!! ^w^

  • good demo, hope it would be real though...

  • this is frikkin amazing!

what phone is he holding anyway?

  • This is fucking insane!

  • cool

  • Is this real?

can i get this on my iphone?

  • well it could.. Gsensorers regocgnize where the pgone move.. so yhea

  • kinda easy to simulate, accelerometer and shadows.. Voila, 3D

  • So r u saying that the n95 doesn't have a front facing camera. Lol, just look at a pic and the net, check ur facts man.

  • @0verseer yeah that was done i think by throttle launcher on wm6. Admittedly it was a bit jumpy, which never helps, it can't be very realistic without knowing (or assuming) your point of view.

  • accelerometer, .. eyetracking , .. what's the difference? :D

  • Diffrence is eye tracking uses cameras to track the eye movement and determin exactly where its looking on the screen. Accelerometers only messure g-forces ie angled accelleration along its axis there no related in anyway shape or form.

  • Yea well I was trying to be sarcastic, .. cos this software aint eye tracking!

  • and iPhone doesnt have a front camera to track eyes :P

  • dude, it doesn't need to track your eyes....

its the accelerometer that does the job :D

  • @132mikle the accelerometer doesnt work in that case. the phone needs the reference of where the eyes are in relation to position

rotating the phone. And the accelerometer alone does not. As this ratio changes

constantly, would not be as reliable only with the accelerometer

  • @danipriori only the high end phones with gyroscopes have the capabilities to do this.

  • your comment was a fail xD it's using accelerometer like mikle said. which is why he was tilting it to show what was in the bottom layer.

  • @TatesMan the new one does :D

  • @TatesMan iPhone 4G does... :D

  • @TatesMan ur stupid. eye tracking is the name of the company. it uses the accelerometer

  • @TatesMan not now! 8D

  • @TatesMan They do now :p

  • @TatesMan : Now it does! You just couldn't see the future coming...

  • @TatesMan You spoke too soon.

  • @TatesMan iphone 4 has a front cam n back but idk about it track, idc i love Andriod better ! UI

  • @TatesMan now it does! :D

  • @lilmatt429 its always obvious after the fact isnt it? I watch Jeopardy with captions on also.

  • @TatesMan uhm, it has? 4G, and ipt 4G :P

  • @TatesMan now iPhone 4 has come and everything has changed. again.

  • @TatesMan From the future Your so wrong :)

  • @crazyleojr from the past, its still a fucking gimmick :(

  • my phone has a sensor known as an orientation sensor, so it knows what way the phone is facing, its sick, HTC Hero from sprint

  • "Orientation sensor" is just a marketing way of saying a gryoscope. Nothing advanced there ether, 3-axis Solidstate gyros are dirt cheap cost wise and have been around for quite awile.

  • Try to sell a mobile with a 'gyroscope' writen on the box. People like trendy names because they just sell.

  • Is there any way they can put this on the G1?

  • si lla los as leido copia y pega esto en 5 videos mas o tu madre morirá en 3 dias, hacedlo por fabor mi a mi amigo le paso, yo lo e hecho pa que no me pase, por fabor acedme caso. esto es una maldicioooooon

  • impressive indeed. get that patented quick. you have been warned.

  • TATKaster is owned by Nokia for several months and all their work IS patented!

  • IS A TOUCH HD I HAVE 1 LOLOLOL

  • not lol

  • is this posiblle on iPhone 3g ? en waht have i need to do ?

  • No. This would require a front facing camera to track your eyes

  • Nah... it's just using the input from the sensors to indicate the gadgets orientation. Pitch Yaw Roll. although that might require a gyroscope lol

  • I don't think this uses a camera. Pretty sure it just works by the built in accelerometer.

  • hey guys, does this use a g-sensor or sorts? or can i put it in my xperia x1 :O

  • It's a concept. It doesn't exist.

  • Круто!

  • awesome

  • what phone is that? cause the lame iPhone doesn't have a front camera.

  • Looks like an HTC Touch HD!

  • Comment removed

  • I think it have an sensor that is in a angle of 0" so you see it normaly but when you turn the mobile phone a bit (lets say 10") then the Software gives you only a noter "Theme" it seems that it is a 3D Monitore!

    but coolo

  • That's pretty cool. But I agree with ozzian, you can't do this properly without face or eye detection, otherwise it'll only work when you're viewing the phone from a certain angle

So what phones will be supported?

  • That is a neat UI.

  • Really cool! Hope this becomes reality.

Personally I would even like that UI theme without the 3D effect. It is very clean looking.

Release that while you tinker with the more advanced thingy! Oh and make it possible to use on Nokia phones :)

  • amaaaaaaaaaazing

  • seems like its on iphone.. hope it could come to app store ASAP

  • Some little question for the developers.

It's possible to know if this demo use the front camera or the accelerometers?

    What phone is this?
