after watching this, now i know why some people complaining and whining jordan and pippen should not be on the same team...its fuckin' unfair for the other...the reason is very obvious in this vid...
@rigz0000 Unfair?! Others had more talent split amongst their entire team. Sure Pippen & MJ were great, but look at the Lakers having Magic, Kareem, Worthy as the main 3. Bird, McHale, Parish, Ainge. Houston with Barkley, Olajuwon, Drexler. Pistons with Isiah, Dumars, Rodman, Laimbeer. Shaq with Kobe, Van Exel, Eddie Jones, Malone, Payton. Kobe with Gasol, Odom, Artest. Heat with Lebron, Wade, Bosh. MJ & Pippen were the main 2 for the first 3 rings, then they added Rodman.
@rigz0000 Other teams had more All Stars on their teams & then had role players. MJ & Pippen won the 1st 3 rings with other palyers being role players &then they added Rodman. They had designated shooters & rebounders. All the other teams I mentioned had 3 All Stars & then role players. Last years Mavericks team was stacked from Nowitzki all the way to JJ Barea. Few teams have done well with less. IVerson was the only All Star for his team. D Rose is another. Kb has always had talented teams
@rigz0000 So MJ & Pippen made it work because they were so talented and versatile but there are a lot more teams that had a lot more talent and depth. Celtics have Kg, Pierce, Ray Allen. Another Houston team had Steve Francis, Cuttino Mobley, Yao. Even the Twolves had KG, Cassell, Sprewell. Portland had Damon Stoudemire all the way to Sabonis. Kings had Bibby, Jackson to WEbber & Divac. You're talking about MJ & Pippen compared to teams that had more All Stars & depth all the way to the bench
I find ironic the fact that its Chuck Daly, former Bad Boys Detroit Pistons coach, same team who hated Bulls, Jordan and specially Pippen so much, the one that had so much fights and arguements..etc, now actually interviewing him like its all smooth.
LOL, I guess you never know what the future might hold.
@mefaltandospauntrio I think Chuck Daly gained a lot of respect for Pippen when he coached him on the Dream team. In fact Daly said Pippen was the 2nd best player on that team and called him the ultimate fill-in-the-blanks guy. Very high praise on a team full of HOFs.
@motly93 Jordan was off playing Baseball during this season. In a way this was a blessing in disguise for Pippen because people could see how good a player he truly could be leading this Bulls team
@ry3304 Are you 5 years old? Are you a female? What's with that "bwhahah lols" crap? I can't take you seriously typing like that. Girls type that stupid pansy ass shit. In fact I don't think girls even type like that anymore. Try typing like an adult....if you are one. And if you are an adult it's a goddamn shame.
@DownloadDoctor1 are you retarded scotty is not overrated, he is underrated. All they talked about is mj, tell me this. Who has the huge brand known worldwide, when you think Chicago in the 1990s who do you think about, who has their face on a video game. I could go on, but then i would miss the intelligent response from you.
@DownloadDoctor1 Source the Barkley quote? It's on Youtube you dumb fuck lol. Try searching "CB on SP Trade Rumors to PHX" and it'll bring it right up. Barkley not only calls Pippen the best non-center in the world second to only Hakeem Olajuwon he also says he's better than Barkley himself lol. Game recognizing game.
And once again you don't have shit on tape. Keep talking out of your vagina bitch LOL.
@DownloadDoctor1 U didn't see this entire game did u? Barkley was a 1 man wrecking crew until they put Pip on him. He didn't even miss a shot until they switched. U have to understand that a great power forward like Barkley is gonna be almost impossible 4 any1 to even slow down. Pippen got in his head & it really frustrated him. 1 week later in an interview on tbs Barkley said Pippen was the best player in the league. His actual quote was well I was being guarded by the best player in the league
Pippen defensively set the standard for defense by a perimeter player this 94-95 season. He anchored a defensive team as a sf to 2nd in the league in defensive efficiency...after losing Jordan and Grant for most of this season. (yes Jordan came back the last 20 or so games but he wasn't close to the defensive player just as he wasn't close to the offensive player for his time during this season...in 96 he definitely got back to his normal great defensive standard though.)
People who think Jordan made Pippen should really watch this video, if Jordan never played for the Bulls Pippen would get the extra credit he really deserves
I wish these playoff series' would be remastered in HD and released on blu-ray so people from this generation can see what a beast Charles Barkley was in his prime.
@ATLVET LoL. Normally I don't advocate violence but I can agree I thought Skip had lost his mind when he was going off about Scottie. Makes you wonder if he was serious or if he was doing it just to argue the point.
@DownloadDoctor1 Are you stupid, blind or both? Barkley may have been 8/14 but he obviously scored 5 of those buckets on Dickey Simpkin's horrendous defense in the first qtr alone before they put Pippen on him lol. When Chuck Daly is singing Pippen's praises about shutting down the main star and changing the complexion of the game you can best believe he's doing the job.
@godspeedf24 I repeat, Obviously he scored 5 more points and missed a lot of free throws in the second half. 4 fouls from Pippen weren't good defense, he got lucky Barkley's free throw shooting was off because Barkley would have had 30 points.
I always chuckle when watching this because of how Chuck got all over Pippen after the 99 season when he insulted him for his conditioning and then barkley responded and for years said how Pippen was nothing without Jordan...yeah...nothing but 35pts 9rebs 6assist 4 stls 2blks and put on you Chuck AS A SF TO SHUT YOU DOWN...yeah he's nothing...haha.
It's rarely said about a player but it was always a pleasure to watch Scottie Pippen play defense. His combination of insticts, defensive awareness, athletic ability and technique were unmatched by any perimeter player. The things Pippen is doing on defense in this clip hasn't been done by another player since. What a fuckin beast.
his defense is the real reason why you can put him in greatest SF of alltime debate with Larry Bird and Dr J and Elgin Baylor and Dominique and all them (Lebron coming soon)
and i never said they where on the verge of turning any corner. All i said was that its hard to assemble a team if the players you're trying to build around keep leaving or wanting to leave. KRause was on the verge of just saying screw it and disassembling his team and building around kukoc.
where did i say that because i dont see it. and if i did you probually misunderstood. The bulls where on the verge of disassembling and rebuilding had jordan not come back. They wouldve been a good team had grant stayed. Krause couldnt predict or had enough time to make up for grants absence. The bulls where on the verge or rebuilding around kukoc and trading pippen.
After Horace Grant signed with Orlando Pippen pretty much had to do it all for that team. Jerry Krause didn't give him much to work with.
I really like how Pippen plays the post player by dancing around him to make it difficult for the entry pass at 4:24. Most guys just stand there and allow the entry pass to come in. The footwork, the long arms, the athleticism was a lethal combination on the defensive end.
thats not true. He made some great trades and pickups with kerr, harper, and the year before with longley and kukoc. The team was deficient in the front court but he addressed that the next year. After jordan retired that changed the whole dynamic of the team. Krause did a great job of rebuilding and putting pieces around pippen. Grant deciding to leave wasnt expected by krause so he hadnt had time to address grants absence. Krause did a superb job in rebuilding
the team was on the verge of turing the corner. pippen was starting to complain though and asking out. So first grant wants out and leaves and krause has to deal with that and than pippen starts to complain and want out. You see what that does to a GM. He has to constantly change and alter his plans. I think when pippen started complaining he was fed up with it and he altered his plans again and was going to trade pippen and build around kukoc instead. Who knows what he was thinking
its hard to assemble a team and develope a game plan when you have the players youre trying to build around leaving unexpectedly and asking out. Jordan came back though and so pippen was happy again and krause some stability in his roster again to work off of
This team was nowhere near on the verge of turning any corner lol. They were a .500 team with ONE superstar in Pippen. They had no one on their frontline who could even put up a 15/10 statline. Pippen lead the team in rebounding and had to guard the power forward spot on occassion (like this game) as well as other positions. Ron Harper was brought in to be a scorer to take some pressure off Pippen but he turned out to be complete bust in that aspect. This team was just garbage.
okay now your just make ridiculous comments. The 95 roster was the exact same roster of 96. the year they won 72 idiot! just the addition of rodman and jordan. They had the same players. So you cant say they where garbage. That team had lots of skilled role players. They just needed that one player to fit around. IT was a great assembled team and krause did a great job assembling it
That team wasn't the same you dumbass lol. Are you stupid? Where's CBA scrub Pete Myers? Gone!! Krystowiak. Gone!! Foster. Gone!! Will Perdue. Gone!! B.J. Armstrong. Gone!! With Jordan and Rodman there you now have scrubs getting less minutes and riding the pine where they belong. You don't have Dickey Simpkins getting lit up by Barkley forcing Pippen to guard him. Kukoc can now be a 6th man adding scoring punch off the bench. The '96 team was NOWHERE near the same. Only a dumbass would say that
the basic supporting cast. kerr, kukoc, wennington, longley, harper. And shut the fuck up. Dude i swear god somebody talk to me like that in real life id roundhouse kick their clown face. You dont need personal faggot! You know nothing about basketball and i have more knowledge then youd ever have.
This from some dumbass that didn't even watch this team play lol. All of your information comes from interviews and research because it was "before your time". Get the fuck outta here with that garbage. I WATCHED this team play. I can't believe you have the nerve to talk. Just shut the fuck up and get educated son. You don't even know why Horace Grant left the fuckin team and you're trying to talk like you're some authority?. Go do some more research idiot. You've proven yourself stupid.
What a hilarious comment: "just the addition of rodman and jordan"...yeah adding the greatest player of all time and the greatest modern day rebounder and one of the greatest defensive players ever is barely adding anything...the 1995 was a joke and the only reason they were above .500 was because of Pippen's incredible defense. He was all over the place this season...he had to be, everyone else was a joke defensively yet he had them at 2nd in defense in the league!? He was robbed of the DPOY..
i know. look at the last couple years and the caliber of players wining defensive player of the year and compare them to pippens abilities and stats. Pippen was robbed in 94 and 95 also robbed of a finals apperance in 94. also robbed in 2000 against the lakers.
Wrong. Horace didn't leave unexpectedly. Krause insulted Grant during the '94 playoffs. He didn't want to give Horace the money he was asking for and publicly named power forwards that he thought were better than him (including Charles Oakley). This pissed Horace off so it's not shocking he didn't come back. How you don't remember that is beyond me. Krause tried filling Horace's spot unsuccessfully with scrubs like Greg Foster and Larry Krystowiak. That's why Pippen wanted out.
well it was before my time all i have to go by is interviews and research. From krause perspective he said horace leaving was unexpected. And besides 1 year in not long enough to find a replacement for grant. Great players are hard to come by and with the bulls record they werent getting high draft picks. So you have to look at it from a GM's standpoint. It takes time to rebuild a team once the player you built around retires and than you lose your starting PF
It's a straight up crime that Pippen never won a DPOY award. The way he could change games with his defense was rivaled only by HOF seven footers like Hakeem and David Robinson.
Even though everybody missed MJ during 1993/94 season and almost all 1994/95 season, it was crusial for PIP's career and his leadership on the Bulls team. He felt on his back what it feels like to carry his team night in and night out. It made him one heck of the player. Probably the best all around NBA has ever seen.
is #35 for chicago greg foster (the same guy who played for utah against the bulls in 97 and 98 finals)?

Scottie will probably never get the full credit he deserves,
because he played with Michael in his prime, but this guy
was one of the top ten players ever to play, you can't name
another ten players that had this kind of skill on both ends
of the court, he could have easily been averaging 25-30
points a game, if Phil Jackson had not held him back.
Phil Jackson said that he told Scottie that all he wanted
from him was 18-22 points a game no more.

Another great upload! Thanks! I had this game on VHS and still remembered it well. Kukoc played well for the Bulls. That drive and dunk was nasty!

I think if wasn't for Hakeem's great season Pippen would've won the MVP for the 93-94 season
