I love how this was editted to make it look like it's a video from the turn of the century or early twenties. It reminds me of the bellydancers from those eras and how, even though society shunned them, they still composed themselves with class and dignity.

Go Rachel! I don't think the song matches the performance, but it was a great performance regardless.

she's the weirdest. by this I mean, she's doing these standard movements but she has her own style. the slow stuff also has this hypnotic quality to it, you've seen it one hundred times, but it still draws you in....I'm just loving tribal today! Oldschool Rachel style... Love it! I'm totally into experimentation (ie. the "gypsy", slightly burlesque asthetic the indigo has been into as of late)...

...however I love to see a dancer go deeper and deeper into their "true self" and technique in dance and I feel that this is happening here. From my perception- this is what Rachel's body is meant for... and you can see it in her energy and body language. I believe she feels at home here.

... although forgive me if the black and white effect of the video is illuding me.
